Each of the 13 floors has its own installation of original art for you to enjoy. Then there are the guests themselves , who represent a cross-section of New York and all the lively arts. Affordable hotel in great location. Bathroom was a bit small. What it lacks in mod cons it makes up for with a bohemian quirkiness - great for young travellers and people who can't afford the more upmarket hotels in this area.

This place was recommended by a friend. Well we paid for a night but only stayed thirty minutes. This place is bizarre. You are greeted by weird tong like protrusions. Strange and confusing art work is all over the place.The room was so small there was no place to open suitcases. The bed was small and the bathroom was not in good shape. I'd say dingy and not well aged would be a fair description. The desk was obtuse and once they got their money could care less if we were comfortable.

Just awful. Rooms are small and dingy. poorly maintained and hotel ambience is bizarre. We stayed thirty thirty minutes and bailed out loosing two hundred on the deal. It was worth it to get out of there.

Style, cool, interesting guests, unusual, art work. One elevator, parking far from hotel. This is a cool, funky place with a rich history, interesting guests, and original atmosphere. It is more for the tourist than the business traveler and would not be great for young kids. The staff was delightful and extremely efficient.
