Would Staty AgainOverall very good - had a room in the Annexe that appears to be newly built. Room spacious with plenty of storage. Lovely garden to relax in and road noise not a factor as room at back of hotel. Only complaint was the tap head coming off, which was reported to the hotel on check out. Would have been nice to have more than 5 channels on TV, but not a major issue. Food in restaurant was not cheap, but very, very good so worth the expense. There is a room service menu available as well.

RecommendedI used to stay at the Georgian House years ago before the refurb and always experienced a warm welcome and pleasant stay. I made my booking based on revisiting an old haunt, and it was nice to see that the good service and welcoming atmosphere has also made the transistion. The chap at the service desk was very accommodating. The room was clean. The decor, in the room, was tasteful. Breakfast was good and included.Overall, you can do far worse in Norwich than the Georgian House Hotel.A well recommended hotel.

Overall a very good hotel in Central NorwichBeing overly critical it was frustrating to arrive and depart from an empty reception desk, though a good 5 minute wait eventually brought a very pleasant girl to assist. A bell or some kind of pager system would be very handy to avoid frustration. Also, whilst the front of the building is lovely, old and built from proper materials, the accomodation is a relatively new building out the back using less sturdy materials so noise from other guests such as slamming doors gives quite a shudder throughout. Some soft-close systems on the doors would sort this out.Aside from that the room was excellent, en-suite was very clean and roomy, breakfast was excellent too. Highly recommended if the two minor niggles (above) were sorted out.

Great for the theatre. The room was clean and tidy and the bathroom a good size.My only dislike was it was a very dark room and you would not want to spend any of the daytime in the room. It was excellently placed for the theatre, as was only a 5/10 min walk. We chose to have dinner in the hotel restaurant, which was excellent. The wine was a little pricey but overall the quality of the food was well priced. Would recommend to anyone as a great theatre package.

Pretty good, just a few minor things!I stayed at the Georgian Hotel for one night with my wife and 4 year old boy. The hotel is very conveniently located just a short walk away from the town centre. Nice looking from the outside and first impressions were good. Check in staff were helpful and showed us to the room. The room itself was well laid out for a small family with a double ben and single bed. Overall the room was great, a good size with flat screen wall mounted TV and a nice zize bathroom. The carpet was a little stained but I guess that is to be expected overtime. The only downside was we found the room very hot and it had no air conditioning. Bearing in mind we stayed early May I think you may struggle in the heat of the summer. The bathroom was OK but the shower was terrible. It was an electric shower so it was more like a fine mist and I could not get the temperature right. It was either too hot or too cold! The breakfast in the morning was pretty good. Not a fully comprehensive buffet like at large hotels but more than sufficient. The cooked breakfast was fresh and also pretty good although the sausages were more like mini cocktail sausages than your traditional pork sausages.Overall, for the money we paid I though it was excellent value and would definately consider staying again. Would I consider staying there again if the price was more... probably not as I think there are better quality hotels close by that I would rather pay just a little more to get top quality.

Nothing about the hotel was like that form the web pictures. The room was of below average standard, very basic including the bedding and its quality. The bathroom only had a shower which was again very basic and water flow = poor. The carpet was frayed and quite obviously patched up in places. There was an abundance of unnecessary cupboard space ( totally wasted ). Information from the web site is misleading, as you get the impression it's recent refurbishment was for the whole hotel this was clearly not the case where we stayed. The decor was bizarre or an acquired taste, not easy on the eye.

Housekeeping problem: no loo roll in the room, so had to make the dash in order to phone reception for emergency suppliesShower pump the shabby variety that squirts a few streams of scalding water. I know it well as we have one in our company shower. The young woman at reception was very pleasant however. But the loo roll sticks. In the memory that is.

Great lobbly and restaurant decor. The rooms aren't quite as boutique as the web photos make out though. For the money I think they were a bit too travelodge in the furnishing. our only complaint was that they didn't make us aware that we could've had breakfast in our room (at no extra cost) later than the main breakfast serving. Even after we told them we probably wouldn't make breakfast before 9.30 after working late on saturday evening. VERY friendly staff though.

The bed in room 1 is a small double and really inadequate for a couple who are medium build. The television was tiny which was disappointing. The towels were the size of hand towels and were lacking. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was good.

Wonderful food, helpful staff. Only 2 small snags.1 Rooms at the fornt suffer noise from the gravel drive.2 The windows need secondary glazing. It was very cold and the draughts from the windows were terrible. Fortunately a large electric heater was supplied to augment the CH radiators. Secondary glazing would also help to reduce the noise from the gravel drive. We will go again but will specify a room at the rear.

i had booked a junior suite only to be shown to a small twin. i told the receptionist who immediately moved me to what the hotel classed as a junior suite. i felt the room was a deluxe double as there was a sofa and desk in the bedroom. my understanding of a suite is a separate bedroom. it was a very nice room, but not as expected.the room i was in was above the restaurant which, as it was close to Chrismas, was very popular and very noisy until just after midnight.

Friendly staff, comfortable clean rooms, nicely decorated, although not sure it would really qualify as a \"Boutique Hotel\". Enjoyable stay. Nice central location.

When you walk into reception, and then through the restaraunt to your room, the decor was amazing, then to get to your room to find the darkest twin room.. was nothing like the web site.. the 2 single beds had the most awful 'bedspreds' and blankets.... You would expect the hotel trying to make everything up to date and fashionable to have plain duvets...Dont ask for a room at the front, was like being next to the M25, and every taxi that comes to collect guests, starting at 6am the noise of the gravel was sooooo loud....Oh be aware there is NO FOOD served on a Sunday night......not even room service...The breakfast was nice, but im not too sure about the hot mustard sausages for breakfast...overall i would stay again, but not in the rooms at the front..

The Hotel was fine, there were parts that had not yet been refurbished but overall the rest of the hotel had been to a nice standard. The bedroom was a bit strange though. The only socket on the wall was no where near the mirror, so you could not look in the mirror whilst drying your hair. The mirror was also too high to see into when sitting at the dressing table. The TV did not swivel, so you could not see it when lying in bed. Car parking was a bit tight. Food was good and the staff very friendly.

This is on the whole an excellent hotel. I've stayed here several times and the room quality can vary from excellent to good depending which room you get. Food in the \"Rare\" restaurant is excellent, though quite pricey. Overall would recommend.

I arrived late Sunday afternoon and as I was travelling on my own had hoped to have something to eat provided by room service but I was somewhat disappointed to find there are no food options at all on a Sunday evening. I realise this may not be particularly unusual but it would have been helpful to know in advance so I could have brought something with me. I walked around the area and found nothing particularly appealing and ending up buying the makings of a sandwich from the Co-op. So the key for me would have been to know when I was booking that there was no provision for food. However a perfectly pleasant hotel.
