The hotel is walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants (Third Promenade). Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Reception staff was a little slow but friendly and curteous. Turndown service is provided in the evening. The Veranda restaurant (actually a veranda) is a convenient option for breakfast, lunch or dinner and provides good views. Would go again.

We stayed at Georgian Hotel for 3 nights and we had a great stay. Room was very clean and confortable. Hotel location was perfect only a short walk from the pier and 3rd street promenade. It was well priced for the area. We would stay again.

Be carrefull; if you have a deal, don't stay under the 6th floor (you'll have a wall in front of your window), and be sure not to have rooms ending by 06, you'll be close to the elavator! Spacious bedrooms, but poor service. And remember, you can negociate all the rates actually ;-)

My stay at the Georgian was a very pleasant experience. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. I had breakfast at the hotel each day on the veranda. The food was surprisingly good and the waitresses very friendly and attentive. I would definitely consider staying there again the next time I am in Santa Monica.

The hotel rooms are very nice, however, the common areas, eg the lobby, hallways, etc. are very old and definitely need upgrading, thereby detracting from the overall experience. Other similarly priced Santa Monica hotels within walking distance are much nicer. I was a bit disappointed. Also, fitness area small.

I just returned from Santa Monica having stayed at the Georgian Hotel with a lovely view of the ocean, a fabulous location and the nicest staff I have experienced in years. The hotel is clean, old-world and charming. The staff was helpful, bent over backwards to make us feel at home and I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone looking for an "art deco" experience. It felt more like Europe than the U.S. Loved it!

The Georgian Hotel is an elegant hotel in a great location: easy to get to the beaches, highway, shopping, good restaurants. The King suite is very comfortable with the right amenities available. The service staff was always pleasant.

I have stayed in the LA area many times. The Georgian's location and ambiance were perfect. I can't wait to return in the warmer months.

Originally we had plans to stay at the Fairmont, however, after a rude phone conversation with a staff member there I changed my mind and made reservations at the Georgian. I'm glad I did. We reserved two Suites with Ocean view. I can't say enough about how beautiful the rooms were. My friends were skeptical pulling up to an old blue building but once we got to the rooms everyone raved. Ocean view suites do have noise when the windows are open, but hey, you're a block away from the pier and around the corner from the promenade. What do you expect? At night with the windows closed I don't remember hearing a sound. You get a clear shot of the ocean (across the street). It's a bit of a walk to the actual water because the beach seems very wide, but not a big deal. The front desk staff seemed very nice when we first arrived then reluctant but willing to offer some help with directions and locations later. The housekeeping showed immediately when called for items. Parking is steep, but we never left the area, so it was most convenient to keep it at the hotel. My only wish was that we didn't have a balcony, but with the windows open you got that great ocean breeze. Also, got a peek at a regular room as it was being serviced. It looked smaller, but just as nice.

Although the ocean front suite was very spacious the coffee maker was a cheap single cup variety, the noise both from the outside and the other rooms travelled straight through the door and walls.I could hear all the doors in the corridor shutting and all the water gushing in the pipes when people were having showers. The housekeeping service was very slow...it was 4.30 when they finally arrived to the room.I was disappointed the the bar downstairs closed after 9pm so if one wanted to sit and have a night cap in the lobby it was not possible.Although most of the staff were very polite and helpful and the location was great I would not return as I feel that 500 dollars a night[taxes included] was just too excessive for this hotel.

Pretty place but it needs to be better maintained. Our room did not have a closet door and the peephole cover (they're big!) was falling off. One of the two elevators was broken as well. Beds great tho and near the water and the Promenade.

"Very interesting art deco hotel with great view of ocean. Clean rooms, well maintained. Very close to all sites in Santa Monica. Would highly recommend it! "

"We loved our stay at the Georgian. From the nightly weather reports to the Wednesday get-together with staff to meals on the veranda, it's a hotel that provides the rare combination of luxury and welcoming atmosphere."

"Very late check-in. Wasted two hours on their deck (our order for food never came). However, we received a nice room upgrade with ocean view and complimentary breakfast. Can hardly argue with that! The room was not necessarily shabby, but well-used. Their customer service was extremely friendly - we loved the deck where we had a great breakfast - a relaxing view of the ocean and Blvd. The location is what sells this place - parking was expensive at $23 a day! Would definitely go back "

"we liked this hotel a lot, great location across from the beach and a block from the santa monica pier. rooms are small but nice, stylish in an updated art deco way. there was no view as described when booking, we looked out to the wall of a building. staff was nice, valet good upon arrival, but disappointing when we left. we asked for help with luggage and did not get it, they were too busy helping guests checking in. didn't eat at the hotel, but sitting out on the front veranda was very nice.
