Ideal tourist location for 2-3 stay in DC area. Close to the Foggy Bottom Metro but also in reasonable walking distance of all the major sightseeing attractions. Friendly and helpful staff. Perhaps could do with a hotel bar!

Location andstaff. Very nice hotel with very helpful staff. Conveniently located in Washington both for business and pleasure.

My wife and I came to DC for 2 nights to see shows at the Kennedy Center. The Inn is within easy walking distance of the Kennedy Center and the Foggy Bottom Metro stop is even closer. We found the staff very welcoming and even though we arrived early they were able and willing to have us check in. Walls may be a little thin as the 2nd night we were unfortunately able to hear family in adjacent room talking all through the night. Would definitely stay again. Also, close to shopping on M street in Georgetown about 1-1.5 miles away. Valet parking is $30 per night, but you can take your car in and out.

We had not been to DC in over 10 years and were not sure where to stay. I picked this hotel based on the reviews I read on the the travel website. When we checked in we were upgraded to a suite with a living room and kitchen. The beds are very comfortable and the hotel was very quiet. The neighborhood has several historic homes. We could see the Potomac River from our room. There was a Farmer's Market just down the street Wednesday afternoon. It was less than two blocks to the Foggy Bottom Metro station. The east end of Georgetown, Kennedy Center and Potomac River are all within easy walking distance. Three blocks away we found a wonderful neighborhood grocery, Trader Joe's. This is a great location with very comfortable rooms. I will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family traveling to the DC area.

My daughter and I were in DC for her GWU orientation. I have not been in DC for years so I picked the hotel for location, reviews, and price. It all worked out well for our stay. It is an older building but it is kept up. The rooms were clean, and everything worked fine. Liked the safe in the room for laptops. I would return when I go for a visit again.

Good interior design. Very good ratio between what you pay and what you get.

The front desk staff was very friendly. They upgrade us to a suite without asking. Every time that we ask for information about the city , they gave it to us. The suite was very nice and clean. The hotel was very close to a Main street , so if we need to take ground transportation , it was easy. Just one night they didn't put enought towells, we call the front desk, and then they gave us more .

This is a wonderful find in Foggy Bottom, DC. The only drawback was that we were visiting during the graduation season, so it seems all hotels were charging higher rates. But the rooms were comfortable and clean; it was especially pleasant that there is a mini-kitchen and GWU was so nearby. Very convenient to metro lines. Will plan to stay here again.

This served as a great hotel for a weekend in DC. We didn't really do much more than sleep there, but it was a super comfortable bed in a very spacious and amply decorated room that gave it a feel of a much more expensive lodging locale. Its location is to die for (only a block and a half from the Foggy Bottom metro stop on the Orange and Blue Lines, and a very safe and well lit historic neighborhood lined with old town houses and fine dining restaurants), and the $30 valet parking fee was easily offset by ample street parking that was open without limit all weekend, and at the encouragement of the valet nonetheless. Definitely recommended to all. Only drawback was the fact that the bathroom sink faucet was loose and would come off if pulled, but that's very minor.

We stayed here during Our Family Summer 08, It is very close to the subway 2 blocks, The Desk Staff was very helpful. We had a little oops with our reservations, they made it acceptable with-in minutes and right with in 2 days of a 9 day stay. The location is walking distance to lots of sites, The Mall (13blks) Whitehouse (7 blks) Plenty of Resturants with in walking distance. The Staff was very attentative and always smiling. It was a great trip with their help!!!!

Confusing entrance area -- hard to figure out where the reception desk was, where the elevators are, etc. Crummy breakfast. I've stayed here before and the claim is that they've upgraded everything. I must have a terrible memory -- everything seemed the same, down to the windows that wouldn't open properly and the shades that wouldn't close properly and which really needed a good cleaning. Everything's the same except the price. I know every lobbying interest in the world is scrambling right now for these "stimulus" dollars Washington is giving out, but can't you people sleep in your cars or something?

Convenient to location visited, and room rate. No blinds on windows, had to ask for room to be cleaned after 2nd day, parking fees excessive $30. Small public spaces but friendly at desk. Room space met my needs. Would stay at thishere again.

Staying at the George Washington Inn was by far one of the best travel experiences I've had in a very long time. We found the inn to be very quaint; check-in was a breeze; our room was very clean and tidy, and the location was very convenient for getting around. We dropped our bags and immediately walked to visit some of the shops and restaurants in the area and took a tour the George Washington University campus. If you need to get to other areas, the inn is located approximately 2 1/2 blocks from the Metro (Foggy Bottom Station). We'd been looking for a hotel with suite-style rooms that were affordable (yet not divey), and it looks like we found the perfect place. They're spacious mini apartments complete with a living room, a separate bed room a small bathroom and kitchenette (with a microwave, a two-burner stove and a mini-refrigerator). I'll definitely be returning.

They did not have the room type I reserved available, so they upgraded me to a suite at no additional cost. The room had a great view, was clean and quite.

Courteous service, clean, well maintained. Breakfast at their restaurant. The location is excellent. East access to the subway,GWU, Watergate, river walk, and Kennedy Center. Beautiful neighborhood. Hotel staff accommodated us with upgrade since they did not have 2 beds available as reserved. King bed in suite worked fine for us. Suites are great with coffee beans, small stove, small refrigerator and microwave. Not too many restaurants in immediate area but we toured all day and just wanted to eat dinner in the room in the evening. There may be restaurants that we did not locate.

The hotel is comfortable and quiet - sometimes hard to find in a city. About 2 blocks from the Kennedy Center and 5 from the Metro. (You can get a shuttle from Kennedy to the metro if walking is difficult.)The rooms have a fridge/micro combination appliance as well as the ubiquitous coffee maker. Beds were the best I ever slept in!

We enjoyed our stay at the George Washington Inn. Having not stayed at a downtown hotel before, we were somewhat surprised by the additional cost of $30 a night for parking(valet). Maybe that is the norm in a city which has many parking issues. The other thing was that the breakfast offerings in the restaurant there were very expensive. We would not eat there again for breakfast. Otherwise, I think our stay was very good.

Location and staff. No/limited F&B service. For a quick overnight stay this property is conveniently located to the DC Metro, Georgetown, and GWU and Downtown/tourist areas of DC. However, it is not a full service hotel, dining options, other the adjacent Italian restaurant (which has its own limited hours/service) are blocks away. Staff was pleasant.
