Great room, comfortable bed and huge bathroom. Excellent stay and great price through Priceline. Very pleased and would be happy to stay there again.

The Hotel George was a nice clean hotel with large rooms. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was conveniently located. I was there with my husband and 2 kids(ages 8 and 11). It was very convenient to have Union Station a block away. They have an amazing food court which was great for the kids. There were also some great pub type restaurants around the corner. Some people in other reviews I read mentioned about the homeless people. I have to say we saw very few and the few we did see did not bother us at all. My biggest problem with the hotel was the construction next door. I feel when you are renting a hotel room you should have the right to a peaceful nights sleep. If the hotel knows of any reason why that would not be possible then I feel they have an obligation to tell you in advance. We arrived late on a Friday night(almost midnight) and were shocked and surprised that at 6AM(no exaageration) Saturday morning there was banging on the building being built right outside our hotel room. My kids were woken up with only 6 hours of sleep and needless to say our Saturday was ruined before it even started. When I went downstairs to complain they could not move our room because they were sold out. They are supposed to be sending us a complementary night but that was of little concellation for all the noise we had to put up with. The Hotel was well aware of the problem because they assured me that Sunday would not be a problem(and it wasn't) but the banging started 6AM sharp again on Monday morning. I would not stay again unless promised to have a room far awary from the noise.

The hotel was clean, well maintained and the staff was very attentive. The location was was not very convenient to the Convention Center but was a block from the Capital. The in-house restaurant, Bistro Bis, was excellent.

Repsonsiveness of staff. Room was on the small side. Hotel George was a very trendy and hip hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and very responsive with towel requests and roll-away bed.

My husband & I stayed during this years Cherry Blossom Festival & we're glad we did. They let us check in early.held our bags when we checked out so we could get in a few more site. The room was good size, the bed was amazing & it was The Quietest room in any hotel we have ever stayed in.The staff was Super Friendly & Accomodating. The Biz resturant on site is excellent but pricey. Union Station is 2 blocks away with tons of places to eat, a few resturants near by. Buy a smart card to get around. The Metro is clean, safe & cheap. It will take you everywhere in a matter of minuets. This was our first time in a Kimpton Hotel & I will absolutely stay again. My husband even raved about this place & that's saying something.

From the moment I arrived at The George (a Kimpton Hotel, as you know), I was very impressed. The entire staff, from Bellman to Concierge, were very attentive and anxious to please. The room was wonderful, i.e., large with two queen beds, a lounge chair, ottoman, a desk w/chair, and a vast amount of closet and drawer space. Additionally, the large flat screen tv was behind the closet doors across the side of the room. I love the design of this space. The location of The George was perfect; three blocks from The Capitol, 1-1/2 blocks from Union Station, and there were ample taxis when needed. If I return to D.C., I hope a room is available. Kimpton Hotels have always had a good reputation; I highly recommend it to anyone, business, family, or just to get-away.

Comfortable bed, great bathroom, well-thought out room design, andsurprisingly good gym. This corner of Capital Hill a bit desolate at night. Good boutique hotel within walking distance of Union Station. A refurbishment of an older apartment building (I think), with well thought-out room features: very comfortable bed, good bath (with shower stall and full bathtub), good desk area, ample closet space. A building under construction behind the hotel - but I heard nothing through the windows (on the other hand, this is not a hotel you come to for the views, though there was plenty of natural light during the day). Great location for exploring Capital Hill area, and for getting just about anywhere in DC by mass transit. Gym facilities in hotel surprisingly good for a hotel of this size - smallish, but with a total of at least six cardio machines (2 each of cross trainers, treadmills and bikes, I think), plus wider range of dumbbells and some weight machines.

Just a long block from Union Station; minutes on foot from the Capitol; we walked to everything -- including Washington Monument, Smithsonian. Room was clean, luxurious leopard-print terry robes. They recycle and have recycling bin in the room. We loved this little place!!!

The personal at The George makes you feel welcome from the initial greeting you receive by the doorman to the friendly reception by the desk staff. The intimate atmosphere makes one feel secure in the modern yet cozy rooms. The attached restaurant with its' excellent food is an added bonus!

The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly, the room is nice and the bed was so comfortable. The hotel is located a block form Union Station, which happens to be the hub bub of everything. Its a mall / metro/amtrak/ tours buses and great place to get a morning cup of coffee with a muffin. Instead of doing hop on hop off bus tours you can ride the metro which is pretty easy to understand and it is fairly safe and cheaper than a taxi and it will drop you off near most sights.I would stay here again.

Staff at this hotel is to be commended for their friendliness and professionalism. The greeting I got as I walked in the door made me feel right at home and very welcome. The hotel itself is clean although not as colorful or themed as some of the other Kimpton Hotels. Comparing it to the Rouge where I stayed last year, it is not as colorful or funky. But the staff makes up for the lack of color and it's close to the Metro. The Bis at the hotel is good but some will find it a bit pricey. Room service was a bit slow and the Bis menu is very limited but the food good. Brunch at the Bis was delicious. Walk up a couple blocks to the Capital City Brewery for great food at more reasonable prices. The location is a problem - there are no stores of any kind in the area and the only other restaurant is the Capital City Brewery - a great choice but would have been nice to have more choices within walking. Getting a cab in the neighborhood is not a problem if you don't mind waiting a few minutes. As a female traveling alone, I found that I felt very safe and secure. I look forward to going back! Oh yes, as in all Kimpton hotels, the beds are super comfortable!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed is super comfortable. Restaurant to expensive, carpet in hallways is dated. The Hotel George is a great place to stay in DC. The beds are wonderful, the staff very helpful. The decor of the hotel is very nice. Only the hallways looked tired, everything else is nice and crisp.

The Hotel Geroge was central, a block away from Union Station. Rooms were clean, and a great size. The staff was very friendly (the concierge who checked us in also checked us out and he remembered our name and room number) and helpful with anything that we asked of them. The decor was very modern and appealing, but I had one gripe. The restaurant in the hotel was a bit pricey (I paid $10 for a soup!). Other than that, I have no complaints about the hotel, it was a very pleasurable stay!

What I liked most about this place was the fact that it was a short walk to the Union Station. Even with luggage going to and from the station was easy, and if the weather was bad the hotel room had an umbrella - so no problem! Getting to the Washington DC mall was easy too. The price was very good considering the location. I had an interior room which meant the only view was of the interior rooms on the other side, but that was not a problem for me. The clerk recommended an interior room because the exterior rooms were noisy. I have been in hotel rooms where street noise is a big problem so I took his recommendation and my room was very quiet.

Location, staff, location andcleanliness. Occasional street noise early morning.
