We went for our 7 year anniversary and it was truly amazing. We walked around and the Atrium was well kept and it seemed you could walk around for hours on the indoor trails setup similar to the riverwalk in San Antonio. The pool was fun with a DJ and a bar next to the pool. The drinks were expensive at $7-8 each and beer at $5-6 each so it was easy to run up a $120 tab a the pool. Overall, a great resort with plent of things to do and enjoy.

Poor experience. For a hotel of this quality and price to charge for airport transportation (it is less than 2 miles) is incredulous. In addition, there was a resort charge of $16.50 a day (with tax) and the facilities were not open 24 hours. Would definitely not recommend the hotel since within the same distance there is a 4 star. Westin and a 4 star Marriott that are much better for business travelers.

We recently took a family road trip to Dallas / Gapevine, TX. It was a great trip. The Gaylord Texan while on the pricey side, was still a very nice Hotel. The Rooms were clean and the staff was helpful, there was plenty to do once inside, we could have spent a week inside alone. Our only complaint was we were unable to use the outdoor pool or hot tub due to cleaning during our stay.

nothing to cater children ages 13-17 except a very crowded pool and crowded arcade. Outdoor pool should be big enough for more physical activity for teenagers.

Wonderful atmosphere - no need to go anywhere else for fine food. A true romantic resort atmosphere.

I recently stayed at the Gaylord Texan for a week. The bed in the room was so uncomfortable that I called the "Consider it Done" line to ask if there was anything they could do to make it better. They offered to bring up 2 down comforters to help make the bed a little better. When I returned in the late afternoon nothing had been delivered so I called again, they said they would call housekeeping and the comforters would be right there. Two blankets were delivered. Called again and this time they said "oh gee I don't know if we do that". They were the ones who OFFERED. So in the end I got NOTHING. The towles were so worn that when I went to use one it ripped like an old rag. Texan Station while it has stunning TV's is overpriced and has sketchy service at best. I would not reccomend this hotel to anyone.

My son and I were here for a tournament. We enjoyed the restaurants, reading at the bistro tables while eating ice cream or slurping down mocha shakes in the evening. The atmosphere and the beauty of the resort is beyond compare. The daily $15 resort fee was a farce. It gave you wireless internet service and in-room high speed internet access and fitness center access and some phone call access(we did not use any of these). It also included 2 bottles of water per day in room, however if any water bottles, whether they were purchased by you or a bottle left over from the previous day, you didn't receive your two bottles. I had to ask housekeeping to give me water after my room was finished and she had already left. If you are charging an additional $15 a day, at least please give me my water. The discounted shuttle to mall and to downtown was costing anywhere from $33 to $10. I got so many different answers it was ridiculous. Finally, on my 5th day I was told of a complimentary shuttle to the mall only because another group had contracted that service. Overall, our stay was enjoyable. The people were nice, but needed to be a bit more informed. In the evenings there were different events. The larger events were advertised but not the smaller ones. I would have liked to have seen them posted somewhere. I would have also liked to have seen some tour packages to some historical sites in the area.

Comfortable Rooms. Very large hotel. I stayed at this hotel while attending a convention. This is a very large hotel with many restaurants, two pools, shops, and a clean comfortable room. Staff was very friendly.

Just got back from a weekend stay at the Gaylord Texan. The rooms are great, the resturants are great and while there are hundreds of rooms, it never seemed too over crowded. I really enjoyed our getaway. When you go there.... you kinda forget that it's August in TX and 100 degrees outside. thin walls and two of the three nights we stayed there we were awakened one night by loud coughing in the room next door, then loud children the next night. The only other thing to know before you go is that the place is MASSIVE. To get just about anywhere on the campus.... it's a hike. There is no quick trip to the pool.... or quick trip out to the car.... and yes.... like one poster mentioned.... the fees will add up quickly.

It is a beautiful facility and the rooms are top notch. However, it is very expensive to eat there or even buy sundries. Because they are a "destination" hotel and everything is under one roof, you are at the mercy of having to eat at their restaurants. The most affordable is about $18 per person and then it goes up from there. There is a cafe but a bowl of oatmeal cost $6 and milk (to go into the oatmeal) was extra. Everything cost money except the toiletries in the room. If you need to use the office center...forty cents per minute on the internet. To take a shuttle into town (just 1.5 miles away) $10 each way. Shuttle to airport, well that's $38 for two people and another $5 per person thereafter. If you need to buy water that's $3 per bottle. We had to stay there for a tournament and were there for 5 nights. It added up quickly not to mention, the $15 per day (+ tax) hotel fee which is charged on top of your daily room rate. If we had to do it again I would get a rental car so we could stock up on food items for the room and use the car for getting out of the confines of the hotel. (note: they have very small refigerators & no microwaves) Otherwise, we would stay elsewhere where we could be in walking distance to other places and at least, experience something complimentary other than the toiletries. Downtown Grapevine is charming and has lots to offer.

Mandatory onsite fees include - Parking (who pays for parking in Texas outside of downtown) ($12 for self parking) - "Resort Fee" - amounts to 2 bottles of water, a paper (which on Sunday morning was the previous Friday's paper), internet service and partial free local phone service all for the low price of $16 For a resort, the outside pool was pretty small The walls are very thin. It was like I was back in a college dorm listening to all the running up and down the halls and slamming of doors.

The Gaylord Texan Grapevine is a nice hotel, good pool, nice atrium, rooms are clean and roomy. However, my overall impression of the hotel was lessened when I saw the fees tacked on to my stay. There's a mandatory $15 "resort fee" that gets you fitness center access, internet access, local phone calls, hotel shuttle rides and a newspaper. Even if you use none of those amenities you still have to pay. They even tax it, so it ends up being over $16. A premium hotel like that shouldn't nickel and dime their guests. It makes them look cheap and it's bad for guest satisfaction. Just make the price of the room $15 more! Also, the parking garage is a long way removed from the hotel, so be prepared to walk. And be prepared to pay $13 a day for that long walk. Again, nickel and diming, nickel and diming, Overall, it was a nice place. But I won't go back. I want to know how much I'm paying for a hotel when I book, not when I check out.

The hotel/resort is beautiful with great attention to the lobby and common areas. Our room was very nice, BUT there was obviously an A/C problem. We called to report the problem at 6:00 pm. Maintenance showed up in about an hour and started working on it.We told them we had 8:00 pm reservations, but please continue with the work. When we returned to the room at 11:00 pm., maintenance showed back up (instead of working on it while we were out), and proceeded to stay in our room until midnight. They still did not fix the A/C. We sweltered all night. At 3:00 am, we were awakened by the loud speaker in our room announcing "All Clear! All Clear!" and some other information we did not grasp. About 10 minutes later, again, we hear "This is an All Clear. You may return to your rooms". In closing, let me ask you, "how would you rate this night?"

All the attractions and space to walk around and enjoy the surroundings. Only one place with reasonable prices to dine& half of employees encountered at the restaurants were not very friendly or seemed too busy.

The Gaylord Texan is awesome, nicely appointed rooms, mine had a balcony overlooking the atruim which I enjoyed. Friendly staff, even when I needed them to come bust my wallet out of the safe. :) Sports bar stayed busy, great food reasonably priced,great staff. Took advantage of the shuttle to the mall a couple times. Was there on business and took advantage of the wireless. Loved the pool and fitness center!

The Gaylord Texan was just as I had expected it to be. The room was clean and the Stafff were great. The only thing I would suggest would be to update the televison in the room. Other then that Me and my spouse had a great time.
