Hotel was beautiful, however one of the General Managers of Jack Daniels was rude and refused to serve me due to my license being bent. He then proceeded to get an attitude with me when I asked why was I the only one who was carded. (It would have been understandable if I was underage, however, I am well above legal drinking age.) The hotel also charges fees/taxes on top of regular sales taxes. As I stated before, its a lovely hotel; however it is way over priced.

The hotel itself is super; great rooms, good restaurants, amazing grounds. HOWEVER, it is very frustrating to be left on your own in a maze where there is a total absence of hotel staff to help with directions. On two occasions we were given misinformation and directions (by staff over the phone) which caused us to miss shuttle connections and timelines. If it's service that you value, perhaps you should check a different accommodation. If it's comfort and surroundings, the Gaylord is great value.

I wanted to make it a point to write what a wonderful hotel stay we had at the Gaylord Opryland! It was very clean, the staff was very helpful and friendly, it was walking distance to shopping and restaurants, they had busses which made it convenient to go downtown, and there was enough to do on the property that you really never had to leave. This is not a complaint, but as we expected, the prices were high, but that just goes with the atmosphere of a higher-priced hotel!! So if you stay here and you're on a budget (like we were), expect to go downtown to drink and eat to save a little cash!! And since the hotel is so huge, expect to walk ALOT!!! :)

On a five star scale I give it one star for value, one star for the sleazy practices of hiding the true cost, one star for the value of food services, two stars for room quality, and four stars for the gardens. Overall, a weak two stars. In all honesty, the Comfort Inn we stayed in the night before had a nicer room for one third the price, however, our room hadn’t been remodeled yet and the one our friend stayed in was nicer, (probably just as nice as the one at the Comfort Inn). The sleazy price-gouging hidden charges were what really irritated me. They charge fifteen dollars per day per room “resort fee” which, except for a couple of bottles of water, includes what other places give you for free, that is, access to the gym, internet, limited telephone calls, and a free USA Today; oh, and you can’t decline the charge, it’s mandatory. They hide the written notice of this “resort fee” on the last page of the pamphlet they give you at check-in; you have to rip out the glued-in key pocket to see it! Then they charge sixteen dollars a day for self-parking, which wouldn’t be so bad if the hotel was downtown with limited parking in the area, but it’s located in a semi-rural area with a shopping mall next door! And the shuttle service for the five minute ride from the airport is twenty-eight dollars one way – about the same price as a taxi! Other hotels in the area give free airport shuttle service! Then there are the restaurants: we bought two average hamburgers, fries and drinks at a counter where they call out your number and give you your food in a paper bag; it cost over twenty-six dollars! Two Danish and one coffee were over ten dollars! Of course there’s no microwave or fridge in your room. My advice is to stay in one of the other nice places in the area and walk over to see the beautiful gardens; you can even park at the mall and walk over, but don’t give this rip-off place your business; there is a nice paved path to the mall. I noticed that they closed off the one direct, easy access road to the mall, but you can still find your way there by winding around behind the hotel or by going back out on the highway; by all means take a few minutes and do this rather than eat or park at this place.

The hotel was amazing to see. Unfortunately, paying $18 a day to park and then a $15 room fee was excessive. Both seemed ridiculous. There was no place to access a computer(if you didn't bring one). Meals were expensive,and the hotel did not provide any "perks".

Just a beautiful hotel, nice restaurants, comfortable attractive rooms. I liked everything so much. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. We hope to return next year.

The walkways, the gardens, the waterfalls, the trees...and all inside under one roof. This is a great experience. The rooms are very nice and the staff are more than helpful. Don't forget to use one of the pools. The shuttle bus is so convienent, and there was no need for us to think about car rental.

My husband and I stayed here on the recommendation of several friends. The hotel is beautiful and the food was excellent though very pricy. My only criticism is that we paid for a room with a balcony and the bedding was very scratchy. The room was directly under one of the restaurants or bars and was very loud and noisy. I was expecting more for over * a night. The pool was wonderful and the fitness center was better than any other hotel I have stayed at. We enjoyed shopping at the Opry Mills

Southern hospitality does not exist here! We prepaid for 2 double beds 4 months in advance only to be given 1 bed. When we complained, we were told that the hotel does not guarantee anything purchased. They did offer a cot; imagine paying $189 a night for a cot. We asked for 2 additional pillows and TV controls that work; neither one was brought to us. Price gouging galore: I bought an ice tea and muffin for $10. To travel anywhere it is $30 one way. If you want to use the whirlpool or sauna it cost $20. You are charged a $15 + 9% sales tax for 2 bottles of water and a newspaper whether you use them or not. You are charged $38 to use their "Courtesy Van" from the airport. Employees do not have "hello" or "thank you" in their vocabulary nor are they able to smile. When asking for assistance, employees yelled and rolled their eyes at customers. The employees do not want to provide any service; they would rather stand and visit than answer a question. A mall and the Grand Ole Opry is within walking distance but everything else is a 20 minute interstate drive at the cost of $30 one way. Your wallet is at their mercy because they do not have any competition close by. I spent 3 times more for 4 days here than a week on the harbor in San Diego. I have stayed at other resorts and visited all but 4 states and this is by far the worst place. Overpriced, very poor service, and poor location. I would give this hotel less than one star if this site allowed.

It is beautiful. $18 self parking fee and $15 resort fee. Self serve parking is not convenient to rooms. $15 resort fee was suppose to include the internet, which I needed, but it wanted to charge me again to connect.

This is my third time staying at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and I'm more impressed than ever. I've come to expect the immaculate rooms and courteous service from one and all. Restaurants inside the hotel that serve excellent food and overall maintenance of the expansive facility that can't be matched. But for the first time, in this age of electronic convenience, I also took advantage of their service of printing my boarding pass ahead of time. I'm not sure if they had this before, but for me it was just the icing on the cake. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Nashville area with no hesitation.

My wife and I spent 5 nights here while attending a conference on the premises. The hotel is very grand and beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed the gardens and all there was to see. The place is very large, but signs are abundant and we had no real troubles in getting lost. The free shuttle to the Orpy Mills Mall, Opry, and General Jackson were nice to have and saved a lot of walking. We opted for a taxi to and from the airport rather than the airport shuttle; a cab is a flat fare of 25 each way so it was cheaper for the two of us to do that instead of the per person charge for the shuttle. The room was nice; the beds were super comfortable and we slept very well. In general we had no real complaints about the facilities, staff, or even the locals. Everyone is very friendly and professional. The conference facilities were awesome and I would happily come back here again!

This was our first stay. The property was very clean. However, rather difficult to navigate due to it's size. Our room was ok and quiet. We had dinner at Jack Daniels. The server was great and the food was just ok. Extra care must be taken with the bedding. I woke up the next morning with itchy welts all over my left leg. I believe this was because I used the decorative pillow to prop my knee up. My boyfriend had nothing wrong with him. I did not say anything at the time because I do not believe nothing could have been done. Being a convention hotel with business travelers and for the price of the room, there should at least be coffee service in the room. It was VERY frustrating to have to get dressed, find my way to someplace that was open and then find my way back.

One expects the immaculate facility in a hotel of this quality. It doesn't disappoint. The visuals and entertainments are top of the line, as one would expect. But what is unexpected, or perhaps simply excells expectation is the customer service and true intent to please. I had a small problem with lost flowers which could have been resolved at the desk, but the bellservices and management were immediately alerted to the problem, and in the end, all three departments and personnel went above and beyond to satisfy the situation and "make it right". I was even more impressed when the bellservice attendant felt comfortable on to take it up with the management on duty. The manager on duty found us, personally tried to assist, gave us his card and arranged lunch for our party for our inconvenience though we protested we were not concerned and would return. The staff are for the most part from all over the world, have been employees for years. There are 3500 employees servicing the hotel, and not one disgruntled person did we encounter and all were relaxed and working in unison as a team. Our entire party will return and bring our family and encourage our friends. It was the most outstanding service and accomodations I have enjoyed and I'm in my sixties. I shall return, the Good Lord Willing, someday.

At first we thought to change rooms to the cxascade cuz they were the prettiest with the falls and lovely streams, then we didn't and Im so glad, it was way to noisy overthere, Our room was perfect. It also had water features and you can hear them if you open your balcony door. It was an amazing room and we sat outside for breakfast on our own balcony, On the negative side, the room service closes early at 10 pm and the linens were a tough weave that was not soft. The conforter was not comforting, heavy and thick and rough. I hope the change their linen, We will take our own next time. The daily maid service was great, but don't leave one thing on your bed or they will not clean. The consierge service was fantastic, but is closed most the time also, so you need to walk to the cascades to get it done, 15 mins
