My wife and I went to visit our son who is a student at Iowa State. The hotel is near where he lives and goes to school and is easy to reach off the interstate. It also allowed our dog to stay. This hotel handled the presence of our pet better than any other place we have been. While the dog was not allowed there, the Reiman gardens up the street are a treat.

Comfortable bed and temperature controls. They do not include breakfast or newspaper with the room price. A comfortable, convenient hotel, and an adequate value for the cost.

I have stayed at this hotel many times and have had an excellent experience every time. The beds are very comfortable, the staff is friendly, and the rooms are nicely decorated. Only wish the workout room was 24 hours, otherwise a great hotel.

The hotel was very clean, and quiet. We could not hear our neighbors or upstairs noise. We were in town for college orientation, and the quick check out made it easy to make our meetings. Clean towels were brought in, and beds were made after the first night. Whoever cleaned our room did a good job, and respected our belongings in the room. The soap that they leave for use in the bathroom is awesome. Has a bit of a citrus smell that is very nice. Vending machines were close, and ice machine worked. The hide-a-bed in the sofa was a twin size. There was a nice desk, with paper and envelopes for our use. The internet connection was strong, and we used two computers in the room. Shopping was close. Dining options are plentiful in the area. Very close to college. People in the area are very friendly. I would recommend this hotel to a friend or family member, and I will be staying here again.

Outside landscaping was very nice. Did not have queen beds only double and they were too soft. Gateway is very beautifully landscaped. It is owned by the University foundation so lots of students work there. They were very helpful and professional. It was very nice and I would consider staying again. However, they only have double beds in the rooms and they were too soft for my back.

Beautiful grounds, quiet, secluded. Would stay here again while in Ames, Iowa.

This the first hotel we've ever stayed in with towels that are large and actually soft. Big plus. Also, very nice weight room and a warm pool, hot tub and sauna. There was a lobby bar and the hotel looks very polished and posh. The rooms have decorations that actually go together, they look like a normal bedroom. Staff was great. Only thing wrong was there were minor thigns wrong with our room like a bedside light didn't work. Would stay here again. :)

Very accommodating staff; spacious, andcomfortable room. Could not provide us with room with king-sized bed. This hotel is located near the Iowa State University campus in Ames, Iowa. It is a conference center facility, and it appears to have good accommodations for medium-sized gatherings. While the rooms could use some updating, ours was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very pleasant and helpful.

We stayed at the hotel while visiting ISU. It is very close to the college which helped during our visit. This is a good hotel and offers a nice indoor pool and workout room.

Happy hour. Mattress was terrible; much too soft and the AC fan was way too noisy.

We LOVED this hotel. It was surprising to find such a nice place in Ames...It is an absolutely beautiful place with friendly staff and very clean, nice rooms. The rooms aren't garishly decorated like so many hotels - they look like an actual bedroom.

this has to be the best kept secret in Ames - it is so far above any other place we have stayed, it can not be compared. We will definately be returning!!

Nice lobby lounge. Two bed rooms all have double beds - no queen size. Not ideal for more than two per room due to rooms that have two beds all have double beds - no queen size. This makes it not family oriented.

The Gateway hotel was great! My grandma and my mom stayed there and I had a choice to stay in my dorm or with them at the Gateway. Well I chose the Gateway! The room was warm and cozy with two beds and plush comforters. The bathroom was very clean and so was the room. There was a vanity area which was great because three women in one room with one mirror could have be disastrous. Everything we needed was in our room or close by. They had an ironing board and iron, coffee maker, and seats to relax. They had live music and a great restaurant with great food selections. Everything was wonderful! I would recommend this Hotel to everyone! And I did? my boyfriend and his parents stayed there the very next weekend.

They treat everyone on the same level. Did not have any negative experiences. I would recommend this hotel to all my contacts.

The beds are very comfortable..four pillows and deep mattresses. Hotel is also conference center for Iowa State University so there is always some interesting conference going on..also athletes from other schools in town to play Iowa State usually stay here.
