The Garfield Suites is a great place to stay if you want location. It is downtown where you can walk to everything. The price is a good deal for the amount of space you have. The suites are large and very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The parking garage is cheap and easy to use. The restaurant was very good and serves Starbucks coffee. We had our best Christmas weekend get away here, both last year and this year. If you are going to be spending a lot of time in the room this may not be the hotel for you. It is an older building with older furniture and TV's (no HDTV here). But if you plan to spend all your time enjoying the city and little in the room this is a good home base.

Stayed 3 nights for work. Restaurant was good, [...] at the front desk was great! The rooms were larger than most apartments I've seen, and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, glasses, utensils, etc. Great place for an extended stay in Cincy!

Huge rooms, full kitchen andproximity to Ball Park. Could use updated decorating or bedding. Excellent location to downtown events. Very large suite. Looks like they used to be apartments turned into a hotel.

DON'T STAY HERE! I warn you. There are other hotels for the same price that are MUCH nicer than this. I am sitting here at 3am UP because the bed is SO TERRIBLE. The furniture is OLD, the appliances are OLD, the rooms are OLD and need to be updated. I am not recommending this hotel to others. I have colleagues coming in town, and I am telling them to take their business elsewhere. The place is old, old, old. Needs to be updated. ONLINE TRAVEL WEBSITE: This place is not nice at all. Not worth of the 4 smiles rating.

I stayed at Garfield for 3 nites during Jazz Fest and found it to be very nice. The rooms were really clean, clean sheets, no odor or stains. Cookware and utensils were clean. The dishwasher worked! They even left Cascade! I was amazed that they thought of everything, even corkscrews! I was really impressed. The 2 bdrm suite was big as an apt and roomy. I also used the Library across the street to check my email, very convenient. The food was pricy but delicious. Staff was nice and friendly. Would stay there again. One negative---waiting on elevators...but that's it! Very good hotel and maids were simply exquisite, thanks to our maid on 14th floor!

The Garfield is located downtown and convenient for any destination in the downtown area. I was in town for a baseball game and it was a 15 minute walk to Great American ballpark. However, after dark the neighborhood around the hotel is a bit sketchy so exercise caution. The staff was pleasant enough though perhaps not as helpful as at more upscale hotels.

Overalll we had a good experience at the garfield. We chose this hotel because it was highly recommended. We stayed in a nice sweet with a balcony, kitchen, and a living room all for 98 bucks before taxes! We had only a few complaints; the parking situation is a little sketchy. The parking garage is right next door but you have to follow this long, winding, secretive tunnel from the garage to the lobby. Also, the room seemed to be a little outdated and worn out. The t.v's, stove, microwave, oven, and escpecially the bed have passed their prime. But,overall this hotel was good for the money.

The staff was tremendously kind and accomondating in every interaction. The room is similar to a condo with full kitchen and balcony. a parking garage is attached with only short jaunt through stairs and tunnels. This was a good bargin for a very busy music festival weekend.

We have stayed at the Garfield Suites numerous times--it's the only place we stay in Cincinnati, and we go there at least twice a year on business. The "rooms" were all condos at some point--each is huge, with a full kitchen, living room, bedroom, at least two TVs, etc. It is not fancy, but it is clean and comfortable, and the staff members are very nice, accommodating, and helpful. The hotel is located right downtown, near many of Cincinnati's popular attractions. There is a very affordable public garage for parking that is adjacent to the hotel--it is staffed 24/7, and there is a pass-through to go to the hotel straight from the garage--great when the weather is cold. The rates are always reasonable making a stay at the Garfield an excellent deal!

This was the second time I've stayed at the Garfield. The service has been uniformly good, parking is $ 2 per day just around the corner, the suites and spacious, clean, and comfortable. I'll stay there again!

Went up for a Reds game and some hanging out. Room was good size, (about the size of a small one bedroom appartment). Seperate living room, full kitchen, and bedroom. The only set back was funiture was not the best, kind of small, but comfortable. Everything was clean, and staff was friendly and helpful. Good location downtown, able to walk everywhere. Would reccomend and stay at again.

I really didn't know what to expect, so I kept an opened mind. I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were very outdated (probably from the 80's sometime) but the space couldn't be beat for the price. We were in walking distance to fountain square and all the fun stuff. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. It was comfortable and enjoyable. We will definitely go back.

If it was earlier in the day, I would have switched hotels for sure. 1950's B movie atmosphere. Nort cool, not clean, not. The only advantage I saw was having a kitchen. Valet parking 19 additional dollars. Overall depressing . . . . Choose another place.

My friend and I wanted a place as a home base while we explored the area. The weather was atrocious, unfortunately - cold wet windy, and so we went to a local grocery, bought comfort food and hung out most of the weekend, watching movies and playing games. Having a real stove and full-size coffee pot was a real winner! We went to Arnolds on Friday night - a couple of block walk, for live music and good food. It looks like a dive outside, but really worth a try. The aquarium at Newport was also great, and both very accessible from this hotel.

The Garfield Suites Hotel offers a lot of space and service for little money. I was given a two bedroom suite at the price of a one bedroom and it was larger than my two bedroom apartment. The restaurant downstairs provided room service with no additional service or gratiuity charges and the food was reasonably priced. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. However, the decor of the suites reminded me of a low-rent apartment. None of the furniture matched and it was all lacquer with that 1970's feel to it. The two rooms both had only small TVs in them and one didn't work all that well. The bathrooms were old and tolietries provided were scarce. There was no WiFi in the suite but free Internet via a cable line was offered if your computer had a modem. The blinds covering the windows were broken in one room and just plain ugly in the other room. There were two balconies in the suite, but I chose not to sleep in the one room with the balcony because I didn't feel safe with a door that opened to a balcony that everyone on that floor shared (it was a long "ledge" that went across the side of the building with no separating walls between rooms). Overall, I might return to this hotel simply because the rate offered was great and the food prices were reasonable. However, I would NOT recommend this hotel to a client or a colleague.

This is a great hotel for the money. Very convenient to everything in the city. I was told that it used to be an apartment building so the rooms are more like apartments than hotel rooms. Works out wel when my business partner and I travel. Instead of getting two rooms and having to work together in one, we get a two-bedroom suite that comes with a kitchen and living room and it works out beautifully. The only drawbacks are (1) the restaurant in the first floor - terrible service every time I have been there. I also don;t think it is owned by the hotel, but the solution is that you are surrounded by all the downtown restaurants, and (2) no wireless internet access. One of us would have to unhook the cable and hand it to another to plug in and check emails. The staff is always friendly and it's usually the same faces every time I go back. Once they bumped meup to a penthouse suite for the same price. VERY NICE. I recommend this hotel.

I was in Cincinnati w/o a car, so I easily took the bus from the airport ($1.75) to a stop just 2.5 blocks from the Garfield Suites. The front desk was super nice and helpful. My room had a full suite, second bed and half bath and kitchen. I was able to purchase some drinks and items across the street, and Walgreens and CVS are a short 3 blocks away. There is tons of great shopping within a couple of blocks of the suites Some of the interior seemed dated, but the cost and amenities for this stay vs some of the other hotels far outweighed the small stuff. This would be the perfect place to stay with a family or if you like the comforts of home (like a full-size fridge.) Make sure to pack your tennis shoes and workout gear, as the facilities on the top floor and huge windows give you and excellent view of downtown Cincinnati. A couple of other highlights were the great prices/good food during happy hour at Sculley's sports bar (half off drinks and and appetizers) which is right around the corner, and the great pizza from the hotel cafe. You have to use a hard-wire connection for internet in your room, wireless not supported in this location.

I think the William Taft Suite was aesthetcally decorated in all my favorite colors burgundy and deep forest green. The furniture was nostalgic. However, the only disappointments I found was the master suite bed CREEKED with every move I made, which made a difficult sleep pattern for me. I also was disappointed with the bathroom not having a jacuzzi jet tub. The shower did not drain properly in the main bathroom upstairs. I had to end up showering in the adjoining room. All in all, the staff was professional, the location was great. I just wished the hotel had a closer parking garage.
