Description:
Sleek and stylish. Hotel Gansevoort is the first luxury, full service hotel in Manhattans vibrant Meatpacking District. Located on Ninth Avenue at 13th street steps from New Yorks most notable restaurants, bars and boutiques. Hotel Gansevoort is known for its signature rooftop, offering stunning 260 degree river and city views and a coveted 45 foot long, heated outdoor pool with underwater music. The hotels rooftop is also home to Plunge Bar, a tranquil garden area, and an event loft with soaring 20 foot ceilings. Guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the new Japanese pub and sushi bar, Tanuki Tavern. The menu draws its inspiration from the Japanese izakaya-a gastro pub serving Japanese snacks, small plates, noodles and grilled items. Unlike most izakayas, Tanuki Tavern also has an extensive menu of sashimi and inventive and traditional sushi/rolls and riceless rolls. Tanuki Tavern offers a wide array of signature cocktails, craft beers and hard to find sakes. The light wood interior, glowing paper lanterns and eclectic soundtrack of American rock and soul create Tanuki Taverns casual and convivial atmosphere, great for a quick bite, leisurely complete meal or late night snack. Other hotel amenities include well equipped fitness center that is open 24/7 and Exhale Spa. Exhale offers a vast array of transformational spa therapies and results-oriented mind body classes including our highly publicized and proprietary Core Fusion programming. Pre or post-therapy, calm the mind and body in our oversized herbal steam or lounge by one of the three hydrotherapy pools in the relaxation area.

Hotel Gansevoort is my go-to destination for an awesome New York weekend!! The rooftop pool is simply the best... that is until the rave party starts around 5 p.m. on the weekends. Still, I love the people-watching and the service is top-notch.

Location to all the placesI wanted to be. Very rude and not service oriented staff andvery full of attitude. Great location, great rooftop lounge, exceptionally rude staff and full of attitude. The rooms are average at the most. In room dining is ridiculous, I mean oatmeal with a glass of orange juice for $26 and a five dollar service charge not including gratuity!

Hotel is in an exciting part of NYC. Hotel staff was excellent! Disappointed about not being being able to use the pool on the weekend as hotel has a beach party from noon to 8 PM on both Sat and Sun for 20 something crowd. Could not access pool with all the noise and partying. As long as you do not want to use the pool on weekends, this is a great place to stay.

Well designed rooms, very comfortable. Reservations and front desk need better training. Great location and beautiful hotel. Very sleek. Was quite happy with the stay overall. It was a very disappointing start to an otherwise great stay. They offered a bottle of wine but neither of us drink, a fruit plate didn't seem appropriate. Excellent housekeeping and the pool can't be beat!

Rated as 5-stars by Orbitz, but 4 stars is more realistic. Standard room was small, even for NYC, but very clean and nicely finished. Hotel was a bit noisy, but with a trendy/party type atmosphere. Rooftop pool and lounge were nice with excellent views, and hosted nightly parties. Good location within Manhattan.

Very helpful with reservations. Expensive and no air conditioning! Never going back.

I was allowed an early check-in which I thought was a good sign for a fantastic weekend. Upon entering the room I noticed that it was smaller than most NYC rooms. I also had a lovely view of the AC units. The pool was tiny and there was limited seating. Booked the hotel for the fireworks view, too bad I never got to see them. More non-guests using the facilities than actual paying guests being able to. Very disappointing. Alarm went off at 4am for no reason. AC unit didn't work and when I told the front desk their reply was 'You should have called'. At 4am I was going to let a staff member come in and work on the AC. Right.

I had a great trip. The room was clean, quiet and cool. The bathroom was perfect! I was uncomfortable with the people wandering around in the evening going to the penthouse club. Just not my type.

awesome. only complaint is the honking of the taxis outside late at night, but i guess you'll get that anywhere. the hotel itself was amazing.

We asked for a room in back, to ensure quiet, as there is a very popular bar on the rooftop..... we never heard a thing. We could walk around the meatpacking district to shop, and easily take cabs elsewhere. The bed and amenities were first class.

great location to see the village or SoHo, best restaurants ever, great markets, fun place to walk and subway line is very close

This was our first visit and I might go back. The room was small but well appointed with a good bed and linens. The bathroom was very nice. The air conditioning system in our room struggled to keep the room at a reasonable temperature. The roof top pool and lounge is clearly a happening place; on a nice weekend in June there was a line outside the hotel for non-guests that lasted virtually all day. If you have things to do in other parts of Manhattan, the location is a bit out of the way and you may end up spending a lot on cab fare.

The location was perfect, price was right, amenities exceeded expectations. Ono restaurant was superb. Staff was friendly. Extra bonus: free continental breakfast.

We enjoyed Hotel Gansevoort which is in a great location with nice restaurants around. Also the subway is close by to bring you everywhere in New York.

We know the city quite well for having lived there. During our stay we went to all our favorite places (moma, met, jazz bars, riverside parc to name just a few). The hotel was very nice: good rooms, cool pool, perfect location. You have to know though that it is very much of a party hotel. The roof top bar seems to be one of the hot spots to see and be seen attended by a very well groomed crowd that looked to us a little more New Jersey than New York. But once you are used to it, it is actually fun, and then New York is all about diversity anyway:)

The Gansevoort is in a perfect location for shopping, eating, partying, and just looking around. The swing shift lobby crew were the best: friendly, helpful, and tried to make sure we had a great time. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to families even if there's a pool because it's more of a pool to be seen at and not actually swim in. There's a great lounge upstairs and you can walk past the lines with your key card and go straight up. Rooms were small but very nice and modern.

Enjoyed Meatpacking district and West Village both just steps from this beautiful hotel.

We tried to get an early check in because our flight arrived at 6am but hotel policy was no check in before 3pm. I understand if there were no rooms, but when we got there they had a room with one bed, I was there with 2 other people and said if I wanted two beds it would cost more. I called Orbitz and they were fast and efficient in helping us paying the difference that the hotel tried to bill us for. Overall the staff were unfriendly, unwilling to help or accommodate and the room walls were paper thin so we can hear the people in the rooms all around us. We were there for business so we had to get up early in the morning. I would not stay there again.

On the way to the hotel I was trying to book a massage appointment at their spa. The Spa coordinator was so helpful. My flights were delayed and she really worked hard to get me fit in for an amazing massage with [...] (how could you forget that name?) and a great pedicure. Leave yourself enough time there because they have the coolest tubs to soak in, bring your swimsuit. The room was great. I stayed in a room with double beds the style was clean and modern. I had plenty of space which is rare for a hotel room in New York. I got an amazing deal on the room through Orbitz. Seriously so awesome that I didn't want to tell anyone-rooms here go for $400 to $900 a night and I paid right at $230. If you get a chance this is the place to stay. You will feel like a real celebrity!
