Great hotel, loved the atmosphere, great scrambled eggs. Service could have been better, especially for the rate. Would recommend it if you're in the neighborhood. Try the restaurant next door by the way, great sushi!!

London Hotel ReviewA very pleasant and comfortable hotel, well located for both West London and the City. Rooms were excellent, clean and quiet and all the staff were polite and helpful. I have stayed at many hotels in London and would put this one in my top 5. Would definitely (and will) stay there again.

Uncorporate and small. Great hotel if you dislike large corporate hotels. The location is ideal for taking the tube around London.

The Hotel is well situated for both the West End and Knightsbridge shopping areas,along with it's Pubs and Restaurants. Staff were very helpful and friendly and overall the Hotel has a nice atmosphere. Room are adequate reflecting their price range, but i think they should have a fridge with at least bottled water in.Would stay there again.

After the initial shock that breakfast was not included with our room, my grandaughter and I found the hotel staff to very courteous and helpful. Our room was comfy and clean--my grandaughter loved the "rain shower" bath. It seemed that the desk staff never seemed at a loss to answer questions for us. We felt safe in the area even returning late from the tube having been to the theater. Delightful place.

Lovely!We had booked this room as a very last minute decision - we were going to the Royal Albert Hall and decided to extend our trip by booking a hotel room. The rate we paid was excellent, when compared with the rack rate, and the hotel was perfect. Within walking distance of the Royal Albert Hall, Science Museum, etc. We paid extra for a very good breakfast, with plenty to choose from - warm pastries, cereals, yoghurts - to a full English breakfast - and as much as you wanted in terms of juice and coffee. A perfect choice!

Nice hotel in a good area. Clean and charming room, although very small. The receptionist did surprisingly not know hot to get to Gatwick airport, but found out eventually although it took lonk time because she was answering the phone while serving me.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this small, quiet, elegant hotel. The room was small but not uncommon by British standards. My single room had a double canopied bed with upholstered headboard with nice linens. There was a wardrobe and dresser to fully unpack and stow away suitcase. Bathroom was great with granite walls, great shower/tub and plenty of hot water. The staff was courteous and accomodating. It is in an upscale neighborhood within walking distance of tube, great museums and restaurants.

great location! that's the good. the room is old looking and the bathroom was gross. fairly clean but maid service did not actually clean every day, just made bed. i want a fresh room every day! no clock, weird! promotes health club w/in-room brochure but does not honor it???? all-in-all a 3 on the rating scale

Mouse trapWe arrived for check in early as we had just got of an overnight flight from S.Arrica. The receptionist told us that our room was ready - as it hadn't be used the previous night - however if we wanted in to it before 12 we had to pay an extra £35!! Quite annoyed at this - but we agreed to pay as we where very tired. then when we got up to the room we found a mouse trap - one of the sticky variety- not only was it on the floor beside the bed it had already had a mouse trapped on it - as the fur remained from the last mouse - it looked like it had been put down for a second time! We mentioned this to reception who didn't seem at all worried - claimed the hotel did not have mice! We asked for a refund of the extra charge and asked to talk to a manager - the receptionist did refund us the money and offered the room to be cleaned while we where out that afternoon- however this was not done!! No one made any effort to say sorry and management did not contact us! I really think that this was unacceptable - we had stayed in this hotel before and liked it - that is why we came back - but it would really put me off booking there again - which is a shame as the hotel has a lovely location and we visit London a lot for business.

This hotel is in an excellent and safe location, and is a good choice for travelers who want to be in an area with a good choice of restaurants, shops, etc. - as well as access to the underground (subway). The staff was very nice and could not have been more accommodating. If you came to the UK to experience an authentic British hotel - without giving up the amenities found in an American hotel - this place is for you. Would defintiely stay here again.

Good value for location quaint

We had to pay twice for the room the room was dangerously damp, iteven had a air humidifier, oh and may luggage got stolen in the hotel . the staff couldn't understand that we needed a taxi urgently. so basically it was alwful .if your reading this don't go there as it will spoil your weekend.

Hotel is typically old british. Nice large rooms in victorian style: wooden toilet seats, faucets from 1924, thick embroidered drapes. A very charming hotel.But then the windows are single pane and therefore much of the street noise filters through, The floors creak slightly, the wall paper may be coming off in some places, the bed mattress could be firmer, the shower fixings may drip from time to time. The air conditioning is a joke. The lift is very slow and small. (I prefer walking anyway).It is well located just opposite the Natural History Museum and near South Kensington and Gloucester Road tube stations. Some superior rooms (with queen-size and king size beds) also have a terrace with chairs and table (very rare in London)Service was excellent (maybe I'm biased because I received an upgrade to a nicer room). I definitley recommend the hotel.

Well located , very expensive for what it was. Room needed redecorating, air conditioning unit not working. Very very noisy, very difficult to sleep. Staff very good and public areas very nice.
