We loved staying at this same hotel a few years ago and our recent stay 4-day was just as enjoyable. It is a nicely decorated, small hotel , perfectly located in the heart of Union Square. We had a car but only used it once, everything is in walking distance (shopping, dining, BART station, public transport, ferry building,) The hotel staff (front desk, housekeeping, security, parking, etc.) were all friendly and helpful. The hotel was nice and quiet and the rooms of an adequate size for an older hotel. Everything was very clean and recently redecorated. There is a nice, inviting fireplace in the main lobby where a wine sampling is offered each evening and coffee each morning. We would definitely stay there again on our next trip. The hotel also was part of a 72 hour sale online so we got our rooms at a really great price. Our adult son was skeptical because of the low price, but loved it once he got there and ended up booking an additional 4 nights. Looking forward to another trip to this fabulous city. ..

Warm and inviting - would stay again.

Beautiful old-world detail. Great lobby. Small but very nice room. Located in the heart of San Francisco. Short walk to Chinatown and the cable cars. Located on a noisy street. Small room. My wife and I stayed in this small hotel, because we wanted to see as much of San Francisco as possible during a long weekend. We checked in too late for the wine tasting they hold every night. We walked four blocks and had dinner in a small Chinatown restaurant, then wandered the tourist shops. We went to bed early that night. The noisy traffic filtered into the room, but the bed was very comfortable. The next morning we checked out and they let us keep the car in their garage. We had coffee at a great coffee shop next door, then walked three blocks to ride the cable car down to Ghiradelli Square. We had a wonderful seafood lunch at Scoma's before we left to visit relatives in San Jose.

I must admit when I booked this hotel and saw the pictures online, I was a bit nervous having never visited the city. After visiting SF and seeing that all their buildings have that Old-School West cost charm, I realized that I made the best decision. It's proximity to Union Square, Market Street, and the Ferry building was priceless. We walked everywhere, and where we couldn't walk, we took the Muni, which again, was close and readily accessible. The staff was head and shoulders above any staff I've encountered at the "big chain" hotels...always willing to help hail a cab or point out great restaurants (specifically being that we were two females in an unfamiliar city). I'm already planning my next trip to SF, and I will be staying at the Galleria Park Hotel. Great job guys!!!!

Had a great time, even though stay was brief. Hotel in great location away from noise of fisherman's wharf...but still close to everything on foot, by bus or cable car. Hotel staff, especially parking valets, was extremely helpful with directions and suggestions for things to do and shortest routes to take. Eatery/coffee shop right on corner of this hotel...cheaper than hotel's food. Chinatown just a couple of blocks away.

The hotel was in a great location for us - near Union Square but away from the crowds, near Chinatown and near Downtown. Easy to take BART from airport with Montgomery St. Station 1-1/2 blks. away. Hotel staff was very nice and very helpful. There was slight mixup on our reservation so we were bumped up to a King Suite (at no extra charge) which was wonderful for us traveling with a teenage daughter. The rooms were comfortable and SPOTLESS. Loved the decor. We'd definitely stay there again!

Great location away from the dregs of Market Street, but near excellent restaurants, great shopping, and the Modern Art Museum. Beautiful renovation of the hotel's interior in executed in tasteful moderne, but not cheap, style. When I needed a few pages faxed to my business at home, the staff eagerly assisted me and quickly did the task. Restaurant (Midi) is new and elegant; its small menu is pricey, but not out of line for the area. I also liked the 3rd-floor garden that leads to the Crocker Galleria.

The location and staff were both wonderful. The parking was a little expensive, but it is San Francisco Wonderful hotel for a good price in the heart of San Francisco. Convenient to everything and a very helpful staff.

I stayed at this hotel back in March 2008 and got my ID and Financial information stolen from my room. The hotel itself was nice, except for having to find out someone went through my luggage while I was not there. This is a good reminder of as to why you should follow practical travel practices, going anywhere. Aside from that, the hotel was clean, bed was nice, front desk staff was professional. The location was perfect, it was near everything.

My husband and I met our family in San Francisco for a graduation,. I reserved the rooms for all of us. The hotel was very helpful in trying to get us rooms together and/or on the same floor. They were very accommadating. The location is ideal for shopping, restaurants, and touring. Walking distance to many things. We will be returning in December and I will plan to stay in this hotel again. The only disappointing thing was the weather.-so cold in May?

I like the boutique atmosphere and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Not enough drawer space; no light near closet; no bath countertop. Overall, I had a good experience at this hotel. We didn't have any major issues. However, the toilet didn't flush well at all times and there was no room in the bathroom for stuff. We also could have used more drawer space (only 2 small drawers for 3 people). The location of the hotel was excellent - in Union Square and next to Chinatown and the Financial District. And for the location the rates were very reasonable. I would stay there again.

I choose this hotel based on other reviews. I was not disappointed. A boutique hotel tucked into a great location within walking distance to everything! The service was exceptional and personal. The rooms were a bit small but very comfortable. I would stay here again without hesitation.

We had a great experience and would def recommend and stay again. It's truly a great location...walking distance to Chinatown, Union Sq, lots of shopping, cable car, Bart, Muni all over too! The room was a bit small but for us it wasn't a big deal b/c we are not ppl who like to sit in a room when there's a world of opportunities outside. The staff was great and friendly to us at all times. We enjoyed Uncle Vito's and Mangarosa around the area and Bread and Cocoa was just around the corner. 711 & Walgreens nearby if you need essentials. Highly recommend the cable cars/trolley/streetcars. We must have had 5 free rides at least! The drivers were friendly and made the trip fun. I made the mistake of not having enough layers but was not ready for the huge drop in temp here, even though it was cold and windy, it was fun and places to go to get warmer!

Nice boutique hotel in a great location near Union Square. The lobby is warm and inviting with a fire roaring and a wonderful wine happy hour in the evenings. The staff was efficient and friendly. The room was a bit small, expecially the bathroom, but very functional, nicely decorated, and comfortable. I like the chair with foot rest near the desk so it was easy to work on the laptop. And the bed was great. All in all a really great find for the price

The hotel is the typical american hotel with nothing special, dark and no ventilated...The location is superb! Just two blocks away from Financial district. It has nothing to do with the "BOUTIQUE HOTELS" Mexicans are use to...We were expecting a real boutique hotel, not a Holiday Inn disguised, but it was OK.
