I booked this hotel based on reviews from other sites. Disappointed is the best way to describe my impression. Room has a claustrophobic feeling and the bathroom plumbing and fixtures need some tending to. Overall, an average hotel, disregard the award it hypes and you won't be disappointed.

Not sure how this hotel got a 4 star rating however when compared to other properties in Taichung city with lessor ratings it clearly is not a 4 star. All in all this is an average property. Small rooms, not the greatest of locations, other than the modern, albeit small like everything else in the property, lobby the facilities can be rated slightly above basic. I was surprised to have a multi-legged visitor climbing the wall, and while this is a common occurrence in Taiwan for tourist hotels, it might just be a sign that this hotel's surprising 4 star Taichung rating is beginning to slip. My recommendation is before booking this property spend a little time to look at other options in the city

Hotel was clean and staff was pleasant and tried to be most accommodating, but they couldn't speak English very well. The room was small, but clean; the bathroom was very nice. They, like so many places in Taiwan, did not offer wash cloths--a little thing, maybe. Their breakfast buffet was limited. Street noises woke us up a bit. I didn't understand their 4 star rating, especially after staying in another 4 star hotel in the same city. The other hotel was about the same price but was ten times better.

the room's facilities are very good for this price. Staffs can speak simple English. Only one thing I was disappointed is Check-In time. It's 3 pm and if you arrived at the hotel before this time, they won't let you check in. I was sick when arrived at the hotel before noon, and even there are some vacant room, but they didn't accept me to check- in earlier.

The room is clean & stylish, but the standard room is a bit small. Location is wonderful. The hotel is super close to night market and high way. Overall, I'll give 4 star for this hotel. Reasonable room rate, good location, good services and stylish room.

It is a rather small hotel with a nice and innovative business theme in its overall decorations. Very new and trendy facilities and very clean room that is well equipped with their own brands of toiletries. Not situated near the central of taichung but is very near the highway and the free feeder bus station (Chao Ma) to the High Speed Rail (HSR). Has a lot of pet shops in the back alley.

The Galerie Hotel had good value for the money. Although it was small it had character and was very clean. If you're looking for luxury this is not the place to go but I appreciated its simplicity and charm.

A great hotel, in terms of comfort, cleanliness and service. (Note the Chinese name of the hotel, ie. Tuo Cheng Shang Lu, in case you need to take a cab). Even though the hotel is slightly far from the main venue I was visiting (ie. Taichung stadium), the hotel is near the supposed king of the night markets in Taichung. A slight problem though, the flask in my room was slightly rusty and I didn't dare boil water with it. Nevertheless, it was more than made up for with the complementary bottles of mineral water and packets of fruit juice in the room. In fact, I'll definitely stay in the hotel if I visit Taichung again.

The hotel really lives up to the standard. A pity that it is not located near the high speed rail. The trip from the high speed rail station to hotel by cab costs about NT$250-260. By bus, probably around NT$15-20. The FengJia Night Market is within walking distance from the hotel and there is a 24 hr Carrefour nearby. You can't miss it because the sign board is huge. Btw, you can skip the Idee department store as it has closed down.

Stayed here 5 days, really enjoyed my stay. It was a great hotel and very clean. Highly Recommended.
