A delightful small boutique hotel but suitable for the business traveller rather than a holiday maker. Its very central but has no garage or parking facilities except the on street parking metres outside. The room suites are excellent size and delightfully decorated with excellent kitchen facilities. The staff were attentive and courteous and all the food was freshly cooked to order. The Lateroom rate was exceptional value for money. Id recommend suite 204 to anyone !! The bedlinen was replaced every day as was any used bathroom soaps etc...

First of all the only door entrance to the hotel was not operating during my entire stay,1 week,there was no doorbell/buzzer and you had to knock on the window to attract a staff member to let you in,never easy as the reception desk was never manned and although someone was always on duty they were never in sight or sound of the front door,many nights i stood for far too long trying to get in,once in the rain,and i actually have a sore knuckle from knocking,when you were eventually let in you were usually met with a brisk attitude,as if it was a great imposition,I would like to think that was due to embarrassment but who knows.This was very inconveniencing to say the least,as you felt you had no freedom to come and go as you pleased,bearable at the laterooms discounted price but would have been totally unacceptable for a 4 star hotel had i been paying full price.I would only consider staying here again if the door worked if not never again.When i arrived i was given discount vouchers for the hotels larger sister,but not told where it was etc,in the room there was no information about anything,i believe they did room service but had no info on that or how to operate anything in the room,again very poor for a 4 star hotel.The rooms are advertised as having a hifi and with slippers,mine had neither,I spent a long time looking for the socket to get online,again no info and just as well i had my own cable with me.There was just enough wardrobe space for myself,but a couple would really struggle.and if im being really picky the cheap soaps etc were never replenished after the first day.The rooms had some nice design touches but seemed to be at the expense of basic practicality's like no bedside drawers and poor bathroom mirror lighting.The overall concept,decor and even name being a little too 90s.However they do deserve credit for attempting something very different for Funchal.

This is a brand new hotel and is still finding its feet. Staff are very friendly and helpful and facilities are excellent. It is very much a modern urban city boutique hotel - which is not what everyone visiting Funchal will want for a holiday - but I would particularly recommend it to business people or people wanting a short city break. Not the place if you want a resort hotel by the sea. Great location in central Funchal. Very comfortable beds and quality bed linens.
