I have stayed here a few times and i LOVE it. The people that work there are so friendly and helpful. It is close to everything you need! I have stayed in a couple different types of rooms the mini cabins are great but the hotel rooms are just as nice!!! I definatly recomend this hotel to anyone!

Internet access in the lobby. Incompetent staff, paper-thin walls, uncomfortable beds. I was not impressed with the service at this hotel. There were a lot of snafus. At night, I was woken up by an alarm clock that kept ringing in the adjacent, empty room. When I called the emergency number, I was told that nothing would be done about it, and that it was a frequent, recurring problem. The next morning I checked out and told the incompetent employee behind the desk about this problem. He said it was too bad I got an earlier wake-up call than I wanted, in a very condescending, patronizing manner. He is someone who should not be interacting with people. Ever. Yet he was the first and last person I encountered at the hotel. I will avoid this hotel at all costs in the future.

Went up to ski. Room was exactly right. Even had logs on sale at the office--bring your several of your own to use.Walked to the village for dinner.

This was a family trip with the girls. It was a nice hotel, right by the water. There was a nice deck in the back that you could sit and watch the boats or relax and read a book. The room was really clean. I couldn't find anything wrong with the room. My only complaint was that when we arrived I was asked to leave an additional $100 deposit on the room, which I was not expecting. I was told all hotels do that, but that has not been my experience. It was difficult for us to make this trip, so it was a shame to tie up $100 of our spending money. If I knew this in advance I would not have stayed there. I know now to ask that question in the future.

Loved the cabin. It was nestled in the woods. Close to lake. The main office/lobby was very cozy with a fireplace and pool table. It was a pleasure to use the computer/internet without being charged! Staff very friendly and accomadating.

We stayed for 2 nights in September for a quick, last minute getaway and to do a little mountain biking. Loved our room, but parking lot noise was slightly annoying in the morning, with people walking and talking right outside our windows. The lakefront area is beautiful, with a little beach and floating dock for fishing. The observatory is directly across the lake. The front desk people were great and very helpful with dining suggestions, etc. They even extended our checkout so we could get some extra biking in Saturday morning. Our room was clean, although some of the towels had some spots. The location is awesome, just a block from the village. The pool and jacuzzi were clean and extremely necessary after a day of biking (not open in the winter, though).

The Frontier hotel was located in walking distance to the village for younger people. The room was spaceous and clean, bed was comfortable, did not venture to the pool area. The only thing I did not care for, was there was No Ice machines close to my hotel room. Closest one was across the road at the main hotel.

I almost never write reviews, but I had such a nice experience at this hotel. I only stayed one night, and wish had stayed a second night. The beds were wonderful! Not hard, but really comfy. The room and grounds are wonderful and right on the lake! The pool was small, but clean. The location is GREAT, walking distance to the center of everything! Really great hotel, don't even hesitate!

I paid over $600 for three nights. We couldn't sleep for two nights because the people above us were noisy. We called to complain to the office and they were closed at 10 PM. "Lakefront" rooms have a view of the bushes. Bedspread was old and coming apart. They refused to refund us the third night when I told them I was not happy with the accomodations. They also tacked on an extra $50, which was for $15 per night times three nights for our dog. You do the math. I've never felt so ripped off in my life. I wouldn't stay there again if they paid ME the money. They didn't even have an ice machine, I had to drive up to the main office to get ice.

The location and for non handicap people it is a great place. The staff is most friendly and co operative but needs better knowledge of the room set up. Our stay was difficult as they did not have disabled rooms with wheelchair access. Maintainance was able to makeshift a couple of ramps, but we had to have him take off the bathroom door so the wheelchair would fit. Of course there were no rails so that was a caution. The bed was too tall for a disabled person so the couch became the bed. I understand that they are making at least one cottage for disabilities. Hope they know all the requirements.

"Smoke alarm missing battery. No screens on windows. No A/C. Both queen beds had twin sheets crosswise, lower 24? of bed was bare, mattress was filthy. Bathroom shower enclosure had hole plugged with toilet paper. TV would not turn on, wrong remote. Only chair was a ripped thrift store reject. Fire extinguishers missing. Continental breakfast was purple Koolaid and single small plastic wrapped Danish per person. Front desk help disappeared before breakfast so he didn't have to listen to guest complaints. This place is a favorite tale when swapping horror stories with friends."

"We expected a cabin with jacuzzi, kitchen, king size bed, and view of the lake. We checked and got a room with two beds, and a small refrig. When we called the front desk about a cabin he just stated that the rooms don't have Jacuzzis or kitchens, but we can send up a microwave. When we asked to be upgraded the gentleman agreed. To our surprise this upgrade came as a king size bed, no Jacuzzi, no kitchen, no microwave, no cabin. Amazingly since the majority of the cabins were vacant). About 9pm after dinner the microwave showed up."

Room was nice except somewhat noisy. The bath fan and the heating fan were very loud and the floor was very squeaky. It was quite overpriced compared to other hotels I have stayed in. Location was great and there were plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Nice view of Big Bear Lake. I liked the lodge feel to the place and they were very pet friendly only charging a $15 per night pet charge (no deposit).

The location of the hotel was great just a bolck or two from the maiin district and very near both snow summit and bear mountain. Its located a nice but not too far of a distance from the main road so there is a very minimum traffic noise. everytime you walk out you see the beautiful lake. The staff was very friendly the heated pool was great for the kids. Only one minor thing was that you can here the upstairs people walking around, they could have just had heavy feet who knows. On our last day we found out it is located with in walking distance to an Excellent restraunt
