Restaurant / Dining Information: Friday Harbor House offers guests a sophisticated gourmet culinary experience on San Juan Island. Executive Chef Thomas Ward makes sure that every detail is attended to, from an extraordinary continental breakfast in the morning that includes freshly baked scones and the best homemade granola on the West Coast, to seasonal farm-fresh island fare and locally caught seafood for dinner. Continental breakfast is served from 7:30am to 9:30am. The restaurant is open for dinner at 5:30pm, Thursday through Sunday and seasonally on Mondays.

The Harbor View room was very comfortable, and quite large with a sitting area near the fireplace. The biggest hit was the jetted tub which gave you a spa like experience and then there was the sitting area just outside the room facing the marina. This made for an amazing view of the sunrise / sunset while you were lazing out over coffee. I liked the fact that there was adequate space for hanging clothes and they provided enough space for luggage. The location was very good at the heart of downtown and was the only one with its own restaurant. The restaurant itself had a great ambience for a romantic dinner, though a bit on the expensive side. The dinner hours were pretty early, making it a bit difficult to be on time, if you were out visiting attractions.

Just like the advertising, easy to get to, and made for a relaxing visit. The prices are comparable to others on the island. We went to the Friday Harbor House for our 30th Anniversary, since we had no information from friends on lodging we had to take the location on face value of advertising. We were not disappointed - class act from staff to furnishings, to morning breakfast. We had considered several of the B&B in the area, but this room offered privacy, views, and comfort that we did not have to share. The morning staff (Joe) was excellent putting out a tasteful filling breakfast, pleasant conversation and an outstanding source of information to plan the day on San Juan Island. Yes, you will pay a little more, but you will get your money's worth, and I know we will go back again! Thanks to all for a great visit.
