Place needs Major rehab. Small, smelly rooms. No staff. No amenities.

it took us 2 hours to finallyget into a decent room, too many problems to go into detail, but it was not fun, the only thing that made it tolerable was the clerks were friendly and helpful, but hotel definitely outdate and falling apart. you also have to walk a mile to get to anything, so unless you are in good shape, and dont mind dirt, smelly rooms, moldy walls dont travel to this hotel.

Desk staff was very cold and unwilling to help, alhough she had nothing to do. No clock in the room. The only people staying there (during peak tourist season) was myself and a handful of contractors working in the area. Grafitti on the elevator doors and walls. Very cold and uncomfortable environment. I wouldn't take my family there.

My wife and I stayed in the old section of the Friar Tuck Inn. Yes the room was antiquated and yes the room was sparse. We were spending an active 2 days in the area and did not anticipate using the hotel for more than sleeping accommodations. The room and bed were clean and comfortable and that's all we needed. We were pleasently suprised at the pool and Jaccuzi. It was a beautiful warm (70 degrees) October day and the the outdoor bar was open. That was also a pleasent surprise.

Due to the fact (possibly) that it was off-season, the wing we were staying in was cold and damp. The tub and shower leaked, and there were mosquitos in the room (in October). The location was great for leaf-peeping and hiking, and the staff were very friendly.

I cant begin to tell you how bad the resort? was it was very dirty looked as if it hadnt been updated since it was built .we went to the pool area and there was water or somthing leeking out of the light sockits the floor was very wet and slipery we asked where the water was coming from and was told from the kitchen The room was very dirty and the sheets and blankits had hairs in them The shower fausits were leaking and i coulnt controll the tempeture of the water almost got burned the hot water was scalding we indured it for one night but left the next morning it was better to lose our money than stay another night all in all we did have a good laugh mabey that place should just be reserved for halloween

The hotel was probably adequate for its age. When I read Friar Tuck Resort and Spa I guess I expected it to be more upscale. The resort was located in the Catskills so I guess most of the hotels there have been around a while. I would not recommend it to my friends because I thought it probably needed to be remodeled at least for the rooms where the refrigerator was sitting on a stool. The lake was nice and the pools seemed nice. We ate at the hotel (sandwiches and soup which were actually quite good).

small room(1 double bed)everything out of date(decor,t.v., fridge,bathroom) when asked for two wake-up calls was told by the front desk that their computer system could not do this.

Has nice amenities. the rooms and hallways could use a little sprucing up and refreshing, but well worth the price.
