If you like a hotel with alot of history and architectual detail the French Lick is for you. Although they have maintained the historic decor in the Lobby area the room accomadations have been upgraded to include comfortable bedding and high speed internet. There were also several small boutiques in the walkway to the casino. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The surrounding countryside is beautiful

Beautiful restoration. Dirty vents in room - needed to be cleaned! My husband and I enjoyed the room and the casino. Not much else to do in French Lick.

This is a wonderful gem in the hills of southern Indiana. Wonderful history with this and the adjoining West Baden Springs. Beautiful lobby, great pool (in and out), very nice spa, and good dining options (1875 Steakhouse quite pricey, but excellent). Ample staff - very friendly and helpful. We will certainly return - with the kids next.

Old style hotel. Not much around hotel/casino to do. Beautiful old hotel, with new casino.

Yes, beautiful and we are coming back this time for my husband's birthday this June. We celebrated our 20th Anniversary here last February and it was the best moment and place we've ever seen and been in southern indiana. The hotel lobby is gorgeous, we cannot resist to have a souvenir photo. The sister hotel West Baden was fantastic! We visited that hotel in the evening and the dome sight was awesome! So fascinated, we came back the next day for more photos. The food is delicious in the hotel buffet and the best thing was the discount we had that day that we didn't expect. We're just so contented and happy that we celebrated our anniversary in this beautiful hotel. You should see it! Oh, we've loved the casino and the people are so friendly. We're on our way back soon!

The staff as a whole was unimpressive. No one was out and out rude however they gave off the feeling that they were not there to make our stay more pleasant or to be helpful. I asked to have a manager call me due to a situation and after two requests no one contacted me. I did not go to the resort to gamble, although it is for many guests. The smoke in the casino and in the adjacent walkways was far too overpowering. I have been to a casino where the ventilation system was such that you could not tell it was a smoking environment unless you were next to someone smoking. I had to turn right around and leave. Due to my previous job, and vacations, over a three year period I have spent over 190 hotel room nights, most at resort hotels. Obviously I judge on previous or expected level of guest service and I simply do not feel French Lick Resort was up to those standards. I would like to go back to see if my experience was the same. Dinner at the steakhouse was the wonderful, the best salmon I have ever had. The spa treatment was unique and I enjoyed it. I would recommend that management take a more active role in training their staff to be more pro-active in communicating with guests.

The entire hotel and it's sister hotel the West Baden are totally renovated in the last year but remain a true "blast from the past". Both built in the 1880's with Al Capone and FDR as frequent guests, the old world extravigance is evident throughout. These are amazing places with gorgeous lobbies, lots to do, or just sit around and absorb the beauty. The attached casino and conference facilities are also new. Just walking the grounds is so wonderful. The rooms are opulent !

Pleasant location and a place you will want to go back to. The hotel has been completely remodeled, but retains the charm of the 30's. The staff make you want to come back.

Spent 4 days at the resort over the 4th. Still working on many aspects of the hotel but it is in great shape. Indoor tennis facility is new. The West Baden hotel is open with shuttles between them. New pool indoor and outdoor complex. A resort at a hotel price.

It's a wonderful historic hotel and it's fabulous to see it, once again, the grand hotel it was meant to be. A1 super hotel - the place is marvelous with all sorts of activities for everyone. There was always something to do - even if just wandering around the halls to check it out.

The pool was great! The hotel had enough amenities to keep the kids busy for two days without ever leaving the building! The breakfast buffet was outstanding. The pizzeria and deli had very slow service, however.
