Disgusting place and a total con. Rooms small 3 meter square maximum. Breakfast frugal and cold. First room I was offered has no windows in it. The place is appalling and should be avoided at all cost and certainly not cheap. $SING for a "Superior" room and the only thing it is superior too is a prison cell.

The Fragrance Emerald hotel provides basic accomodations. The rooms are tiny but clean. My biggest problem was the lack of a safe deposit box, either in the room or at the reception. Thus, I had to carry my passport and all my valuables with me all the time which was a hassle, to say the least. Also, the hotel does not have a dining room so you must go somewhere else for breakfast. The location of the Fragrance Emerald hotel is great, however. It is located in the Geylang area of Singapore. There are dozens of food stalls and restaurants within a few blocks, and the food is delicious and cheap. There is also an MRT station nearby although you have to cross several busy streets to get there. Overall, the hotel is ok for a very short stay. I would not recommend to stay there for more than two nights.

fairly small basic rooms but cheap and clean. Friendly staff a bonus

I booked the hotel through [your website] and booking was confirmed immediately. The hotel confirmed the booking a day before my arrival. As a lady I was a bit nervous about the location of the hotel before going to the hotel as it is in the red zone. But the two nights I stayed there was quite safe and specially this hotel located in a street which is relatively quiet. The reception was good and the staff attended the problem I had with opening the room with the given key immediately and the lock was repaired promptly. Room was good for the price and was daily kleened. It was about 15 minutes walk to the MRT station. Only negative point I saw was at the bath room the shower gel container was not functioning properly and they don't provide extra soap in the room. The taxi driver initially took me to Lorog 20 instead of Lorong 6 and had a bit of a trouble to find the place. Other than that it was a nice stay at the hotel and I wouldn't mind booking the same hotel another time.

this place is great for a single man. youre in the heart of the red light district but the rooms are very small and it is quite away from most of the places you will want to visit as a tourist. Go closer to orchard road and you will get alot nicer place and save a ton of money on cabs and save alot of time on seeing the sites.

Definitely not a location I would stay again at.

Nice and Clean looks like it's been re-fitted lately so everything spotless (our room was). Location good about 10 min walk from MRT station from here all city accessible, lots of restaurant around. it is the 'red light' area but it isn't seedy at all (you may see some ladies sat around) and it's very safe friendly area. For the money it's a good choice.

Price is very good and rooms are fairly good. Suggest they add curtain to the shower.

This is my 2nd time staying at Fragrance Hotel - Emerald, Very good value Hotel.

Nice enough hotel, Great value. But you should know, as I did NOT before arrival, that this is in the (legal) red light district of Singapore. There are rates for transit (two hour stays) and overnight. My local business associates teased me about staying here, and assume that getting my brasswork polished was my primary motive in choosing the Fragrance Emerald. If what folks think doesn't matter to you, I recommend this hotel. Bathrooms a little grotty, though clean, air conditioning works excelently, staff is friendly and helpful, and the professional girls who you will enounter outside are not too agressive. My room was quiet, I can only assume that the transit rooms are segregated by floor. I will likely stay at the Fragrance Emerald if I return to Singapore.

I stayed in this hotel twice in August 08. The hotel is a bit out of the way, but only 10 minutes walk to nearest subway, and a 10 minute ride to the centre, never any hassle from locals walking in area, even in the early hours. Basic rooms, but clean, helpful staff, if you are looking for a cheap place to stay then I would recommend this hotel

The Hotel is located only 10 min from the center of Singapore and offers a very good room with nice facilities for a very cheap price. Roomservice is excellent, only problem were the bathroom which was not so modern and needs some renovation. But all the other services are very good, staff ist very friendly. To find a better hotel in this price category would be difficult!! If I come back to Singapore I will stay there again, because this room is enough! Because do not stay in hotel in Singapore, explore the city and its cultures and traditions! ( Also the nightlife in Geylang, where the hotel is located is nice to see!)

"Upon arrival, told that there's no booking (zuji error). It was late and staff was rude. We were tired so we paid for another room. The room was small, smelled, shower beside toilet, AC was noisy, hookers on the street. The only good thing was good was the price and the morning staff was much nicer and helped resolve booking problem. It's a place to crash for little cost. It's a step-up from a hostel."

Located in an older part of Singapore. Ladies of the night operated from outside the hotel opposite but we had no problem from them or anyone else when entering or leaving Emerald. The room was small and basic but clean and comfortable. MRT 10 to 15 min walk away which then gives you easy access to rest of city and airport. Very reasonably priced hotel that was perfectly adequete for our two night stopover.

"For about the same price you would pay for a VERY basic room closer to the centre of town this hotel offers you a private bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities as well as cable TV. A gret room at a great price."

Unfortunately the hotel does not have a restaurant. Since it was in the inner suburbs, there was nowhere nearby to get a western style breakfast, nearby.

"The room and bath are neat and have everything you need although it's small. Room is about the size of 2 kingsize beds but is more than enough for resting thru the nights. Also, it doesn't have any facilities but food stalls and corner stores are just steps away. It's best for youngster or students who wish not to stay in hostel. Also close to bus and MRT. For those buget minded, It hits right on !!!"
