Description:
Located on the west side of Eyjafjörður fjord this typical Icelandic fishing village is home to Fosshotel Dalvík. This new tourist class bed & breakfast hotel offers breathtaking views of the mountain range, the sea and the island of Hrísey.
The Icelandic wilderness and its spectacular surroundings is the perfect setting for outdoor activities and excursions. During summer months guests can book a whale watching cruise. The whale watching boats rarely need to travel far out into the Eyjafjörður fjord before whales and dolphins come up for a look. Midnight Sun cruises during spring and summer are always popular with visitors as well.
Hringholt has the largest horse stables in Iceland, where guided horse riding tours can be taken.
The mountains of Tröllaskagi or Trolls’ Headland, between the fjords of Eyjafjörður and Skagafjörður, are renowned as some of Iceland’s most spectacular areas for outdoor activity. During autumn the slopes around Dalvík are covered with bilberry, bog-bilberry plants and black crowberries.
The swimming complex in Dalvík includes a 25 meter pool, a children's pool and water slide where children can play while their parents relax in the hot pots or sunbathe.
Dalvík is home to the unique Hvoll Folk Museum, which also includes an unusual Museum of Natural History. The Arnarholt 9-hole golf course is just 7 kilometres from Dalvík.
