One may rent only one Bedroom, or the full eight, however many bedrooms you decide to take, this Villa is 100% private and yours for as long as you wish! The Beach Villa is beautifully appointed in your own secluded niche of the villa-style hotel. You will find the beach only a step off your outdoor living & dining room porch, and the 16th century historic fort to your side. It consists of an Art Gallery entrance way, an over-sized living room with adult and children's library, fully equipped kitchen, outdoor and indoor dining areas that seat 30+ family and friends, four spectacular beachfront master bedrooms & master baths directly facing the beach and four additional queen size bedrooms all with personal bath with garden The Beach Villa is as close to the sea as it gets, with a breathtaking view and a great amount of privacy and seclusion! The large wrap-around wooden porch on the beach is great for romantic, outdoor sunset dining and lounging. In the rear there is an open air garden veranda leading to the freshwater pool and lush, surrounding gardens. People who frequently visit Tortola, comment that it is the nicest Beachfront Villa that Tortola has to offer. We have one restaurant on site and are open for Continental and Full American Breakfast and Dinner daily. Restaurant is set in an open aired garden, poolside with lush tropical flora and palm trees. Attire is casual.

Surrounding Location:

Activities at Fort Recovery range from snorkeling to chartering our on site yacht with captain, swimming in our fresh water pool, lounging on our private small beach, taking hikes, having parties, weddings, dining and kayaking. Fort Recovery is quite laid back and has a low key atmosphere, that being said it also happens to be a prime location for going just about anywhere on the island. Nightlife is a stone's throw away. A mere 5 minute drive over to Little Apple Bay guests' will find Bomba's shack, a very popular life spot. Other nightlife "hotspots" such as Quito's in Cane Garden Bay are approx. 15minutes driving from the hotel. Guests' are also 15mins from Road Town, the BVI capitol and activity hub. Marina's are also nearby Fort Recovery, Soper's Hole only a 4minute drive, Nanny Cay an 8minute drive. Overall guests' will find renting a car very much a help staying anywhere on the island as there is much to do and see around every corner! For those who enjoy walking and hiking, Soper's Hole is a common place for guests' to walk to in the afternoon for lunch at Pusser's, grocery, clothing and jewelry shopping, and just seeing the West End of the island. For the more adventurous type, some will hike to Smuggler's Cove, arguably the nicest beach in the BVI, approximately 45mins walking up and down some moderate terrain and hills.

This hotel was spectacular. The Villa was immaculate and pristinely decorated, the view was inspiring and right out of a painting and the water literally at your feet after stepping out your door was pure bliss!!! The staff were very friendly, quick and efficient. Food in their restaurant was great with fast service (surprising since it's typically the reverse in the islands!). The SPA massage I had was also a treat and very professionally done in a peaceful setting. This place is a true resort gem on Tortola. I've stayed at just about all of the other hotels on the island and this one cannot be beat! Thanks Fort Recovery, we will be back!

Because of the hotel's review, I had great expectations. When I arrived, I wanted to leave inmediately but had already booked by internet. Air conditioner did not work well, hotel was in the middle of nowhere, there was no cable on tv (any channels whatsoever), bathrooms were not clean enough, wireless did not work either! When I arrived to the reception area I was welcomed by a stinky dog and a guy that when asked for assistance hesitated and kept "playing" with his computer. . When I wanted to change rooms due to the air conditioner malfunction, I could not find anyone at the reception area, nor anybody to assist me. Next day when I needed to check-out there was no one either. The only thing I liked was the view...nice view of the ocean, which I love of the BVI's!

Fort Recovery is a small hotel composed of condo type units overlooking St John USVI. P, the general manager,makes sure the place runs smoothly and solves any problems that may arise. She's worth her weight in gold!! Knows everything about Tortola, ferries and the hotel. Just ask and you find the answer. The newer units are beautiful. The older ones are just alittle homey but certainly comfortable and have full kitchens. We did a package with dinners, jeep. breakfasts, gift baskets etc-worth the money. Food is Ok- some nights better than others- remember this is the islands and not a 4 star hotel. A little beach in front of the hotel, but a short trip away magnificent ones. UNBELIEVABLE sunsets from spectular balconies.The only drawback was the flushing of the toilets-conserving water, I guess. Everything else was great, would highly recommend and return. We have traveled all over the carribean and loved Fort Recovery and Tortola.

Friends of my husband recommended us to Fort Recovery. They gave a special villa for the occasion. We truly had a great time. The place was clean, on the beach and a lovely staff. We enjoyed the dinners, massages, and boat trip a lot. We would like to recommend it now to other people as we were very happy. We really enjoyed Tortola especially the rain forest and tropical botanical gardens. We also took a day trip to St. Thomas and found some really good deals on chinaware for our home. We will go back to Tortola as there are other things still left to do.

Spent 2 weeks at this resort. Gorgeous views and a historic fort which has a fascinating history. The room was high quality with Caribbean flair, and HUGE. Rented a 3 bedroom, was far more than we expected. Service went above and beyond, very quick&responsive. Food was excellent, best on the island, private restaurant (not open to public). Snorkel trip on their yacht was a blast, sightseeing and terrific value. SPA is great, highly trained staff, wonderful Massages! Will return this Christmas. Private beach out your doorstep what more could we ask for!

Loved my experience at Fort Recovery. The staff was ultra friendly and they made us feel at home. Our accommodations were very clean and the restaurant had very good dinners and breakfast. The location was great on the island, we could get anywhere within 5-15 min. We would go back in a heartbeat. Wish we could be there now.

Gorgeous location.Kept a rental boat at the dock which was FABULOUS.Food was quite good but they dont serve lunch.Rooms were new and very large with a spectacular view.

"I recently recommended a friend to stay at Fort Recovery and everything turned out great. I had been there in November, 2006 and was very pleased. The views are spectacular, especially watching the boats go by, and the service was very hospitable. The food presentation was well done. My friends and I are always sharing stories of our trips. My girlfriend mentioned they were looking for a place to stay in the Caribbean, I couldn't resist telling them about Fort Recovery. She booked a trip & just got back and had a great time. I'm glad everything turned out good for my friends."

"Fort Recovery could be a wonderful place if under better management. The hotel is clean and sparse. The beach is great place to go to other points in Tortola by boat. The beach itself is rocky and weed choked. The ""spa"" is a back room, not really a spa at all. The manager is rude, pushy and acts as if she is doing you a huge favor. Tortola is lovely just find another hotel."
