Additional informationGym and pool were available free of charge to residents and are of an excellent standard. The gym is stocked with Technogym equipment.

Quick ImpressionsEfficient service.Public areas starting to show wear.Clean but small room. Would get very claustrophobic during longer stays. No aircon in the room.Stunning views over the Mersey.Teletubby rabbits on the lawn.

Even arriving in the early hours of the morning I was warmly greeted. I had a lovely mid-week stay here at Frodsham. The room was spotlessly maintained. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Gym and Pool/Spa area were of a decent size and well stocked with quality equipment. Across the whole complex the staff were warm, friendly and very helpful and accommodating. The locals who came in to use the Gym were also friendly and eager to help out with suggestions for sightseeing or to just generally chat.I had my little dog with me who loved being able to run on the green slope opposite the car park in safety and, there was the added bonus of the hill top footpath pleasantly surrounded by woods for an early morning or late afternoon stroll. All in all a lovely place to stay. I tried to book for the weekend when I made my booking but there were no rooms available unfortunately so I booked into a Travelodge - what a come down and for practically the same pricing for both me and my dog!

The accommodation was clean, comfortable and quiet, important because I needed to be able to get a good nights sleep. The staff were very helpful and the food at dinner was fresh and well cooked. I didn't have breakfast. The swimming pool was clean and at a comfortable temperature. A lovely way to relax before a stressful day.

Very dated decor, pool area is a plus but staff standing watching people jump in when signs clearly state not to was nothing less than dangerous. Our wedding was at this Hotel and it has deteriorated rapdily over the last few years

Excellent hotel, would stay there again! The hotel was lovely, with excellent facilties. Room was nice, with a comfortable bed. Good wi-fi reception, with a very fast connection.Leisure Club has a nice snooker room and pool, with jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. There is a gym with good facilities.Breakfast was excellent, and included black pudding (I love black pudding!)! Many hotel breakfasts don't have black pudding these days, so it was great to have the option!

Better than expectedPaid £45 Room only and so had very low expectations however I was pleasantly surprised. Hotel is nothing special but rooms (this was my 2nd stay) are spacious and clean and well maintained and facilities are good, bonus of free wifi makes this outstanding value and if you get the right room the views can be spectacular

Excellent ValueReally good stay - would highly recommend ....... stayed here many times over the years

Stayed in a non refurbished room in the basement. It was unbearably hot despite opening the window and turning any heating off, there was also consistent terrible noise coming from staff quarters below which was only heightened with the window open. Plus a constant racket from the pool pump across the corridor !Also be aware that this hotel do not operate ANY lone female traveller policies whatsoever, therefore expect to have a room as far away from reception as possible, plus ground or basement level is the norm. Also no female only parking......if your unfortunate enough to end up round the back of the hotel then it's a good walk in the pitch black surrounded by woodland as are all the rooms at the back of the hotel.....very poorI've spent many a happy night in this hotel but do feel that their customer service has slipped dramatically and will not be staying here again whilst in the area I'm afraid. The restaurant food was good as ever but the service very poor and as for the hefty £11 charge for breakfast that was a disgrace quite frankly.....I'm afraid this points to what I've suspected for a while that the Forest Hills staff and owner believe they're a 5* establishment and therefore have delusions of grandeur somewhat.

Only issue was the maid woke us up early by banging on the door to see if she could clean the room !!!!

Rooms are comfortable but the single beds in my room were a bit small, prefer a double. Good liesure facilities and the free WIFI is a real attraction. Watch the price when you book, I thought the price quoted included VAT but turned out VAT was extra.

A very comfortable hotel with great facilities albeit in a rather remote and hard to find location

Pleasant location with great views and leisure facilities and a good deal for room only via laterooms. The food was very bland and either under/overcooked so wouldn't make an effort to eat there again (this is the second meal I've had there with a similar experience) - although if you like 'plain' food it would be perfect for you!The room decor is dated but clean and with free wifi access it was good for me.
