The Florida Hotel is located at one end of the Florida Mall in Orlando. The room was comfortable, clean and good sized. I was there for a convention, so I did not require a lot of amenities. Room service was good, and the servers were all polite and helpful. The front desk was well staffed, but the check-in time of 4 PM was inconveniently late. I had to store my bags, as the convention workshops started much earlier than that. There is no sundries shop in the hotel, as you presumably could shop in the mall, if you noticed you needed something before it closed at 9 PM. There is a little "Grab and Go" shop that has approximately one toothbrush and one ballpoint pen. The room was nicely quiet during the night, but there were spotlights that were trained on the windows from the ground, that lit the room up like daylight if you didn't close the drapes carefully. The room cost was quite high, but through the online company I got a better price than my cohorts at the convention. This was my second convention stay at the Florida Hotel. It was a pleasant experience.

my only crticism was that on saturday morning my daughter went to the breakfast buffet and when paying at the cash register the woman insisted on my daughter putting a tip on the charge to the room That is not kosher Thankfully my daughter knew better and refused

Remarkable staff. Lack of wireless/lack of free wireless. Very enjoyable stay. Convenient location, nicely appointed, fabulous staff. Exceeded my expectations.

This hotel is great for adult travellers, connected to a very big shopping centre it is perfect for shopping as well as the attractions. Nice pool at the front of the hotel too. Rooms are big and spacious, and maid service was excelent each day! The adjoining shopping mall has so many restaurants to eat during the day, you would not be stuck. Also, there is a free shuttle service to Disney Epcot. Great hotel! I would not get their VIP taxi service to international drive though, as I was way overcharged, all other destinations that are listed on the VIP taxi list are fine, but beware of them overcharging on some journies. Also, you have to pay charges upon your stay at the hotel which ammounts to 100 US dollars for 6 nights. (Inc Tax) Overall i had a fab stay here and would recomend the hotel for couples, honey moon, elderly, business etc.. SHOPAHOLICS

Upon check in i was given a card that said that there was going to a fee of $5.00 for hotel stuff. Stuff I wasn't nor did i use. When checking out I was charged $7.50, When i asked at the desk they said oh that was last years card and fee, we haven't updated the cards to reflect the new fees. They would not do any thing about it, Bad customer service. That night we ordered a movie for kids, The screen said $12.99. When checking out our bill was for $14.99, When i questioned the difference the guy said ok i will change that for you. Sounds like a scam to me?...... On top of all this I already put $30.00 on the counter to cover the charges, the guy looks at the money and says ok here is your receipt and your all set. Oh you want to pay cash? i filled out a comment card reguarding the matters and requested a response back from the manager and I still have not received any response. Check your bill very carefully so you don't fall prey to the overcharging scams this hotels loves to do. The rooms were a bit smaller then what i am used to but very clean. Excellent tv's, but were a little to soft for my likings. i personally won't stay here again, but that doesn't mean you don't have to. Just be careful.

If you love to shop, this hotel is for you. Attached to the Florida Mall, the opportunity to shop to your heart's content is available for you. In addition, it is close to International Drive shopping and not far from Disney/Universal attractions.

Superb facility with great staff; close to airport. Glitches were payable, hot water very slow in morning; climate control twitchy. Chose this hotel chiefly for its proximity to airport, but it was fun and convenient to have the lobby open directly into the Florida Mall. Some glitches in the room did not detract from an overall positive experience.

I only stayed there because I had to, but will search for another hotel when possible. Issues were: 1. Room that was supposively blocked and reserved due to previous problems was not available upon arrival. 2. Critter cafe has an automatic / mandatory 18% gratuity charge that is not stated anywhere on the menu, signs etc.. and only when presented with the bill ( I ate alone). Service was poor. 3. They now charge for any 800 number ( though it is not posted on the phone )- When questioned on this, they said it is my responsibility to read the guest service book in each room. 4. Their guest service book states that newspapers would be delivered to the room daily, but in fact one must go down to the lobby to get one ( thus having to dress to get a paper to read in your room). - when questioned why they expect one to follow the guest book ( see # 3) but they do not follow what they say in what service they would provide. 5. When you sign in you are not TOLD about the extra 7.50 per day fee that is added on, just asked to initial a small box that is in small print in the middle of the page and sign at the bottom for your room. They explain everything else except this fee. 6. They want 6.15 for 15 minutes to use the computer in the business center. Rip off city. Its slow and unreliable I did fill out a comment card with contact info and they never contacted me. This hotel is privately owned so they have no higher management to appeal to nor have to answer to, so good luck on expecting issues to be resolved.

I was visiting Orlando for the first time alone was a nice clean safe place to stay. The Florida Hotel room and hotel were clean and in a nice area it was nice to have a nice mall connected to the hotel but was so busy didn't get to shop. The staff was friendly and helpful. Was a positive experience.

Air conditioner did not work. The air conditioner did not work in our rooms - it was 80 degrees at night. Hot and miserable.

It was nice to be attached to the mall. This location is not for everyone, but we drove to Florida, so it was great. Easy drive to the parks and the Citrus bowl. Lots of food options in and near the mall. Looking again this year in case MSU is in Orlando again! The hotel and rooms were clean, but the parking lot was always a mess. The mall is probably responsible. Pool was small, but just fine for the kids. I would stay here again for sure.

Bellman went above and beyond for us trying to help us find hotel. Nailed for add'l fee above paid-in-full reservation for wireless & gym (we stayed 7 hours!). Nice hotel, though certainly not an airport hotel ($27 cab ride!). Hard to find by address. Watch for extra fees. It is actually attached to the mall, like an anchor store would be, so if you're coming to Orlando to go this mall, I suppose it's some kind of dream, but otherwise, it was nice, but very hard to locate. Staff super nice.

Everything about The Florida Hotel was excellant except the $* so call room service charge for stuff you don't need to maybe don't want. (water, internet, etc.) Weathe you use it or not. I did complain to the front desk and received a nice smile, and a sorry about that, have a nice day. Other than that it was great and look forward to staying there in the future.

Great location. Resort fee. I was only staying overnight so a $7.50 resort fee really stung. This is not a resort. I got two bottles of water and a newspaper or my 7.50 resort fee.

i made a reservation a few days prior of arrival. when i checked in they quoted me a different price than the price i was given over the phone. i had to put up a fight for the price i was quoted. after speaking to a manager they gave me my original quote. the room was a little small, the bathroom was a little too small, and the bed was hard. however, the flat screen tv was great. i had a view of the mall and it was quite cool. staying in a hotel connected to the mall was great!

Personnel, service, facilities. This was an excellent hotel and the area it is in was great. The Florida Shopping mall, the convenience of food. The stay was a very pleasant experience one to be repeated.

"What a nice treat to have this hotel connected to the Florida Mall. There was a Starbucks right in the lobby area which was great. However, room service could be improved. They never made up our beds or replaced our towels. Call room service waited about 45 mins and had to call again. Hard beds and very small pillows. "
