From the north - continue past the airport turn off, past the golf club (on your right), over the bridge and straight ahead. Next main road is Mangorei Rd - turn right, and next left into Devon St (New Plymouth''s main street). The Devon Hotel is 200 metres on you left.

From the south - continue straight ahead past the racecourse (on your left), and down the hill to turn right at Devon St (the main street). The Devon Hotel is about 400 metres on your right.

An older hotel that has had make over. Pity they forgot to put in a small desk and suitcase stand. Rooms were large and bright. The Buffet dinner was excellent and great value. A good hotel handy to the city centre and attractions.

Our stay was highly enjoyable, fantastic food in relaxing surroundings. My only suggestion would be to include brochures in rooms about what to see and do in New Plymouth as not everyone will ask

Rooms Sightly dated and tired but clean. Very small bathroom.

The Hotel was in good condition, however I felt that the business room, was a bit out dated for the price and slightly on the poky side. I requested a room with 1 double bed to free up some of the space as we were spending 3 nights and as there was a choice offered. At checkin we found 2 double beds which made the room small and it seemed to be very stuffy. The room was very tidy,but the amenities, namely the bathroom was small and very out dated, the coffee bar cramped leaving very little space to balance the cups and no flowing air as there was only 2 very small windows that openned. Finally the buffet breakfast served mildly warm and dried out hot dishes and a dry Ham substitute was offered in place of bacon. However on the up side the hot beverage selection was really great and there was a good variety of cereals and fruit. Also access to an outside alfresco dinning area was a treat.

We found the hotel staff friendly, helpful & co-operative. The attitude of the Staff in the restaurant was excellent, very helpful & thoughtful. The atmosphere was great. We would/will return & definately recommend it to friends.o

Clean, tidy hotel - comfortable with adequate facilities. Would loved to have tried the spa & heated pool but the weather was not on our side. Enjoyable meal at Marbles Buffet. Kids especially enjoyed the PS2 as we don't have one at home. Great service and very obliging staff.

Problems were: Lack of coffee and tea, shampoo and conditioner in rooms. Also - no help with heavy cases up stairs - and no disabled access to rooms.

Smallish room but comforatble and clean. Check in service a bit unfriendly and parking a squueze. Good in house dining.Overall good though.

A spacious room and overall a well laid out hotel. Disappointed that only buffet style meals were available in the dining room (even though there was a bar & room service menue). Ventured across the road to the Autolodge for an a al carte meal in view of restricted availability at the Devon.
