A date with BruceA fabulous city centre hotel, perfectually situated for the discerning shopper :) Stayed here for the Springsteen concert and although got a taxi to RDS it was close enough to walk back after (about 20-30 mins depending on how sore your feet are...). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only downside was the waitress in the 24 hour bar - got the impression she didnt want to be there and we felt that the cocktails were not good enough quality to warrant the high prices charged.

The Fitzwilliam was located right across the street from Stephens Green, and a couple minutes walk to Grafton Street and the city bus tour stops. Very convenient. The hotel is boutiquie-stylish with modern decor. However, I think the room we stayed in is a bit on the small size for what you pay for. But I guess the value is really on its location. We arrived at the hotel around 11 am, though no rooms were available for our check-in yet, the front-desk staff offered us a "day-room" to refresh up since she knew we flew in from the States that morning. Though the day-room was no more than a bathroom, it was a nice feature to have a place to freshen up after flying an overnight flight. We didn't eat at the restaurant in the hotel. There are SO many restaurants and pubs in the area, we decided to sample those instead.

The Staff were very friendly and the hotel was perfectly situated for all amenities. For the price paid I would expect the basics like the television channels and music to be free of charge though.

Great Hotel & locationFor once a 5 star hotel that lives up to its billing. The room was beautiful, well equiped & over looked an internal garden. The hotel was very clean, staff polite & friendly and the location was great. My wife & I really enjoyed it. If there was a down side the gym was very small & there was no swimming pool.

great location, helpful staff, secure parkingWe really like staying here. The rooms are compact but well designed. Decor is of high standard, nice linens and thoughtful housekeeping products. You can park underneath at a very favourable rate. There are 2 pcs and a printer for guest use in the busines centre. I just wish they could somehow provide a secure docking station for my IPOD!

Very Impressive!!From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we couldn't have asked for more attentive and helpful staff. A real pleasure to stay in a hotel which has such consistently high standards accross the board.

Good standards, hotel clean and everything you would expect from a 5*. Only one negative the price of the breakfast, best part of £100 for breakfast for four, mind it was a good breakfast, just not worth £25. Would recommend the hotel but it did not blow me away

I stayed at the Fitzwilliam on a combined trip of business and then for leisure at the weekend. The service was excellent, a friendly atmosphere and room service even remembered what my usual evening drink was despite the number of guests I'm sure they dealt with daily. Its location is incredibly convenient, right next to Grafton Street in the centre of the city. Convenient for the aircoach (2mins away) or the dublin tour bus. For business travellers the tram leaves directly outside the hotel so travel across the city is really convenient too.My only critism would be the late night noise at the weekend. During the week to room was quiet at night however on Friday and Saturday the noise of the music from the bar next door kept me awake until the early hours despite the windows being closed. I'd recommend trying to get a room at the opposite end of the building at the weekends. Otherwise, I'd definately stay here again and would recommend it to anyone travelling for business or pleasure.

The FitzWilliam is not a cheap hotel, so standards are expected to be very high. Our room, overlooking the internal coutyard was modern and clean, but small. For someone wanting to use the complimentary broadband there was no chair to sit and use a laptop. The alternative seating was a bench in front of the window not suitable for a relaxing read. The air conditionining was effective, but noisy, so was turned off to enable a good night's sleep. However, the lacK of good ventilation meant that the room got progressively more \"stuffy\". My wife was, however, impressed with the batchroom, and for onece did not complain about the lack of light to apply make-up.The plumbing is another story. When our neighbours in the room next door decided to run the bath at about 4.30 in the morning, it was as though we had a steam train travelling at 70mph going through the room. Then they ran a second bath. The following day, it was the shower at 5.30am.We elected for a light breakfast. The portions varied in size from day to day, but I must reserve a major criticism for the eggs benedict. As I said earlier, this is an expensive hotel, with a 2 Michelin Star restaurant attached. I think it reasnable, therefore, to expect a high standard of cuisine, even at breakfast. My eggs benedict had a distictly lumpy sauce, and the muffin on which the eggs were served would have done good sevice as shoe leather. Certainly well below the standards expected. We had booked late, and on arrival there was clearly some confusion. The reception stafff told us that late bookings \"sometimes fell through the net\" again, not exactly installing confidence.Nevertheless, I would still recommed this hotel for someone looking for a short city break who did not intend to spend much time in their room.

Have stayed many times and love my visits to the hotel. The new decor is very plush and luxurious, with orchids in every room. I cannot fault this hotel and definately recommend to anyone.

Hotel has contemporary relaxed style. An excellent base for exploring Dublins galleries, walking, bars/pubs & markets. Hotel very central right in the heart of city but quiet enough for chilling out & rest. Staff very helpful & informed. Hotel reflects what Dublin is as a city; stylish & quietly cool.

Main benefit of staying at the Fitzwiliam was the location, right at the top of Grafton Street. So easy for exploring Dublin. Efficient but welcoming staff at all levels, particularly impressive the concierge services. Contemporary room and fantastic bathroom. Both the bath and power shower were state of the art and bathing was really luxurious with fluffy robes and deep piled towels. Rate for room was room only and cost of breakfast at hotel very expensive for our group of 4 - it would have cost 100 euros for breakfast alone so we ate outside the hotel. Bar in the hotel good atmosphere and fun.

The room booked was described as an Executive Room which lead us to believe that it would be bigger than a standard room. However it appears that a standard room at this hotel is called an Executive room and it was very small and very basic for the money. We mentioned this to the reservations manager who very kindly upgraded us free of charge to a superior room which in fact was what I would describe as a standard room. All the staff were good except the Polish consierge who sent us to the railway station to catch a train to Maynooth - when we got to the station the customer services manager told us that trains don't go to Maynooth and we would have to catch a bus - we wasted 10 Euros on a taxi trip to the station. Hotels should really have consierge services from local people. Have stayed in better 5* hotels in Dublin and have got better rates but the location of this hotel is superb,
