A good experienceWelcoming, comfortable, clean, we did not have food so cannot comment, would stay again, hope Scott House Kingussie have a good season.I cut my hand on the bathroom door snib, my fault, but I think it is a bit sharp.

I had stayed in the Fishers hotel in the past and the standards of the rooms now are excellent. The only thing that let the hotel down was in the restaurant where breakfast was served in the morning the wooden blinds were covered in dust that had not seen a duster in months let alone days and that was off putting when you were sat next to them 2 mornings in a row.

A beautiful, well furnished room that was a delight to be in. The food was nice but as independent travellers would have preferred a dining area seperate from large tours.

Decorative wallpaper frieze part torn off in bedoom. Mould on bottomrail of window. Bath panel and bathroom ceiling in poor condition. Also much noise from person above simply walking across their room and could hear the guest next door snoring.

Hotel short stayThe hotel was undergoing re-furbishment so wasn't really up to what you would hope the normal standard should be. Having said that, it is well situated for getting out and about in the local area. Also very handy for the train station, which is close by.

Fishers Hotel, PitlochryQuite a mess due to the renovation work but I would stay here again once those are completed and for that reason I will have to answer 'no' to the next 2 questions. Staff were pleasant and helpful and room clean but badly in need of updating.

Hotel should be closedThis was one of the worst rooms I have ever stayed in. The room was scary...the carpet had stains all over, the furniture was falling apart, it was dingy and old. The lobby smelled awful. This hotel was under construction but honestly they should not have been open and they had the nerve to charge 50 pounds $75 for a room that a homeless person would not have slept in. An absolute repulsing disgrace.

Hotel conveniently located on the main street in Pitlochry close to the railway station. Staff friendly and made to feel welcome. Enjoyable stay, with adequate facilities and clean room. Good value for money and would stay again if I was in the area.

This hotel is undergoing major upgrading which is impacting on both the service and accomodation. I f we had booked for the weekend rather than just one night car parking would have been a big problem and dining in this hotel in the evening was not encouraged by the staff.

This hotel is in the middle of refurbishment. It will be excellent when complete. We would have appreciated parking facilities for the disabled.

I was apprehensive before arriving because of comments posted.I thought the hotel was dated our room smelt pretty bad like it had been flooded,although it was a good size with a nice view to the gardens.The staff were helpful and friendly.The food was of high quality.The bacon was the best I've eaten and freshly made.Don't think you're getting a cheap deal with late rooms the prices were exactly the same.

the hotel was uder construction work on the exterior and a reduction of £10 was given for this but this did not excuse the poor decoration of the beroom, the mould around the floor, the paint flaking off the ceiling in the bathroom, or the lack of adequate toiletries or the room not cleaned or fresh towels given until 4.30 pm after we complained.

The best part about the hotel was the location, on the main street in the center of Pitlochry. The food was the worst we had at any hotel during our stay (we were at 4 different hotels throughout the trip). The breakfast staff were rude, as were the front desk staff when we told them our concerns with our stay. There were problems with the room itself: the tv remote control didn't work, the hot water in the sink didn't work, the bathroom wasn't clean, the toilet ran very noisily for 5 minutes or longer every time you flushed it, there was no shade on the window to block the light (tough in a country that is only dark from 11pm to 4am in June), there were lots of stains on the rug, and they don't offer rooms with double beds, only two twin beds. Lastly, it was warm that night, and they don't offer any fans for the rooms--the only hotel that didn't during our travels: 2 of the other 4 hotels we were in had fans in the room; the other offered fans as needed. Perhaps worst of all, the number on the phone for reception didn't work, so we couldn't call down to ask about any of these things--when we mentioned this at the front desk, they said they know the number listed on the phone is wrong, but that they have posted the correct number in the lobby (pointed out to us by no one!) and in the orientation book in the hotel room--why would we look anywhere else when the number is on the phone? Why don't they just fix it? When we shared our concerns with the front desk manager, he argued with us and said that none of this was a problem (exc. the hot water not working and the rude waitstaff). In the end, he reluctantly gave us a 10% discount off our stay.

When booking this hotel I was not told about the scaffolding which surrounded the entire hotel both front and back. As I was only staying for one night this was acceptable but had I been staying for longer it would not have been acceptable.

the hotel was very easy to get to, especially if travelling by train. It is located in the very heart of Pitlochry so nothing was too far away. The staff at reception were friendly, the breakfast however left a lot to be desired and the waiting staff were young an unprofessional, but you get what you pay for. The town itself is quiet and relaxing, the Fishers Hotel having the liviliest of all the bars around, althought that was maybe not a good thing. The full breakfast was awful, pure grease and slopped on the plate.

The hotel is on the main street and simple and to find with ample car parking. Good base for site seeing, The hotel is central to the town which makes going out for meals and looking around easy. There is a train station at the rear of the hotel which makes it convienient to leave the car and travel to other areas by train. We had rooms at the rear and we didn't notice trains passing. There is currently a lot of external restoration work under way, but this does not interfere with the running of the hotel. We didn't have an evening meal at the Fisher Hotel during our stay, so the food rating is only about the breakfast.

Following booking with Late Rooms I was initially contacted about 2 weeks later to inform that there were no rooms due to refurbishment. Although subsequently called to indicate a spare room this meant that I could not book my excavation and travel plans until this was finalised.
