This hotel is too beautiful for words. The staff is very friendly and the beach is wonderful.

I liked the room service. They want to charge you for everything including the coffee in your room and the rates for such are very high. They also push their vacation club . The Hotel is very nice and provides great service but you pay for that service.

I just returned from a beautiful 5 day,4 night visit with my wife and daughter. We were excited for our first trip to Mexico. As warned from friends,we were essentially hood winked at the airport and almost lost 60 dollars to spend our days at another resort and on "free" excursions. Fortunately we survuived that and got to the Fiesta Americana and to our pleasant surprise we found a beautiful resort. Our goal was to relax for a few days and enjoy ourselves. We found the resort, the concierge, and all the staff the MOST FRIENDLY PEOPLE we have EVER enjoyed on ANY trip. Without hovering someone was at our bekon call at our request. Our family joke now is "It is my Pleasure" (said with a soft spanish accent). This was the company line by most everyone. The head chef of the Easter Brunch came to our table twice during our meal to ensure our satisfaction. Two days later when eating in the same on resort restaurant he approached us again to see if all was ok. All and all a definite 5 star resort,my only regret was eating the lime from my beer on the beach the last day there. It made for a very uncomfortable trip home if you know what i mean.

the front desk was not bad. room service was slow to make up beds. pool was overcroweded with children whos parents do not watch them and they run rampard. on a scale of 1-10 i would rate this hotel a 5+ max. do not eat in the hotel it is an extreme rippoff. you can eat downtown for 1/2 the price.

This hotel was absolutely out of this world...gorgeous, clean, great pool(s), very friendly staff, and great location to nightlife. The food was okay. As part of the hotel package, we recieved daily buffet breakfast. The only complaint I had was that it was the same food everyday...it would have been nice if they would have changed it up a bit. We opted for the room with an ocean view and it was worth the upgrade. Their pools are kept up and cleaned daily (we saw the pool cleaner in the morning & a staff worker with the pool cleaning net) We spent most of our time by the pool. The beach was a few feet away. The water was beautiful. The only complaint I had about the hotel and trip in general was that someone was always trying to sell you a timeshare or a "membership" to the hotel. After talking to the locals, we found out that Fiesta Americana Coral Beach (be aware that Cancun has 5 different Fiesta Americana hotels with different sub names) is the #1 hotel in Cancun. If you have a chance to travel and stay at this hotel...DO IT! You won't be dissapointed. However, it is a 5 star hotel, be prepared to pay for extras at a 5 star price (drinks by the pool, internet access, spa services, fitness center, food, etc.)

Ocean front was beautiful. They charged for everything. I'm not sure that I would stay there again because of how expensive it is.

We "Loved" this hotel we can hardly wait to go back! We took our 3 boys for Spring Break. This was their first time in Cancun. My husband and I had been there 2 times before. We stayed at other " nice " hotels but this was the Best by far! Yes everything was Very expensive but well worth it. These people were constantly cleaning! even the beach! they actually clean the seaweed off the beach. I have never seen that in my life. They told us that they recieved the Five Diamond Award and only them and the Ritz Carlton obtain that award there. Just be prepared to spend a lot of money! the breakfast buffet for 5 was about $98.00 and that was breakfast.... but it was delicious. Mimosas n all. It's just like being at a fancy hotel in the U.S. Oh yeah another great thing is all the best clubs are right across the street so you can just walk : )

We were pleased with the beautiful junior suite and balcony. We had a lovely view of the sea and the nearest island. We would certainly stay there again.

Spacious room with excellent amenities; personal treatment (by name). It is huge. Massive scale offset by personalized, friendly service; gorgeous location; recognized as one of the finest properties in the area.

If you love cold water in the pools, this is your hotel. Because they have so few people staying they turn down the heating of the pools, so, the water is freezing. Not so Grand Category if you ask me.

The service was great. The people were friendly and the hotel rooms as well as all the facilities on the hotel premises absolutely splendid. Anyone who comes to visit will experience the comforts of home and then some. Words can not explain, see for yourself. I'm a person who travels a lot. This was one of the best experiences I've had since i started traveling five years ago. Wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can leave the hotel and everything is at walking distance or short bus rides. Across these hotel is a strip like Las Vegas. It is Paradise with las vegas. OFF THE HOOK!! I WILL RETURN NEXT YEAR. THE ONLY THING IS THAT ITS A NON-INCLUSIVE HOTEL SO TAKE PLENTY OF MONEY TO SPEND FOR LUNCH OR DINNER

The beach was the best in Cancun. The interior design could use a revamp. The overall feeling is very bland. The staff was very friendly and made our time very enjoyable. The beach and amenities outside were excellent. Food was above average, but pricy for what it was. The drinks were very good and the hotel spa is one of the best I've been to. Overall, it was a romantic, relaxing trip to a pretty place!

I have to say that the Hotel is beautiful!!The service amazing. Top notch! It would have been the stay of a life time except for the very unpleasant experience we had. My daughters Blackberry Storm went missing from the room. We know exactly how,and when this occured.Whether it was an accident or a theft we will never know. However the way the Hotel management handled, or shall I say didnt handle it was unacceptable! We were ignored.and the time response was unacceptable. We quite possibly might have recovered the phone if they had any sense of urgency. I spent 2 days of my vacation running after Management trying to get someone to take responsibility. It wasnt till the morning of my departure, that a Manager came to talk to me.He accused me of creating the incident. Well,I couldnt be more insulted! I had $100,000 of jewelry,a $2000 lap top,$1000 camera all not locked-up,(there safes can only hold a wallet, yet they said I should have locked up all my valuables)Why the heck would I chose to torture myself, with a missing phone that belonged to my 17 year old.Who in turn caused me so much grief I could have jumped of the building!! Upon my return home Ive spent a week corresponding with the Hotel management to come to some sort of compensation. To this point I have been made promises in writing, but nothing has been delivered. In summation, this 5 Diamond Hotel is Beautiful, but if something goes wrong, dont rely on the management to back you up! They will deny any liability!Nothing wrong ever happens at their Hotel! I also have asked them for an explanation of some charges on my bill.I have had no response!

When you first get there, you will be pleasantly surprised as to how relaxing that everything seems to be; word of warning however--above everything else, MAKE SURE to IGNORE any and all requests to "see our new properties" or "we will show you how to return while you are saving money greatly". What these charlatans have planned for you is to take your Visa or MC "only to see if it is current" and basically blackmail you into a couple of hours of timeshare crap for something that is not even built. DON'T FALL FOR IT!!! Lord knows what I would be fighting with now had I not grabbed the paper out of the lady's hand with all of my private info on it! On a better note, the Hotel is very nice with beautifully painted rooms, and the pools are simply wonderful. The buffet is great, esp. at breakfast, and the bartenders are just very helpful. We felt like we were leaving behind new friends the last day. The only exception to pleasantness would be with about 1/2 of the front desk staff, who are each in on the time share scam. WATCH YOUR WALLET!!! Three separate staff members at the front desk admitted to my wife that they get "points", and then cash if they can lure guests to the trap. Another bit of advice; if you are wanting to take a trip to Isla Mujeres (go absolutely), or to Playa del Carmen, don't book it with anyone. Just go by city bus to the "embarcadero" and buy your own ferry ticket, or go to the downtown bus station and for each way, you can buy an upscale bus ticket. The "agents" in the lobby will magically come up with a price of !

The hotel has the best location, where the beach is nice and calm, sand like talcum powder, no rocks. The service in this hotel is incredible, the best you can possibly ask for. While we were there (May 2009), the hotel was almost empty, because of the "Flu madness"! Nevertheless, we had beautiful wheather, a delightful suite with a super comfy bed and we got an upgrade for a full sea view with balcony. The hotel is currently renovating, which I think was needed (starting to look a bit 1980's, but still fabulously luxurious), but we weren't bothered by noise at any time. We slept like babies.

Concierge staff and hospitality area was top notch. Balcony in some sections has no privacy screen between rooms.] so appears as a long row of 4-5 rooms. Beautiful setting, quiet rooms, view of the sea is spectacular.

We stayed five days in mid-february and had a great time! The service, room, food and beach were perfect. Not a single complaint nor did we see any insects as indicated in other reviews. There were quite a few kids around and I didn't notice any specific activities for them. This is probably a more "adult friendly" resort. Will go back for sure!!

Hotel is absolutely beautiful! Very quiet and very clean. Had some initial drama due to the hotel placing us in a room that faced a Hut instead of an Oceanfront room. Though 2 hours later and 2 managers later, we were placed in an excellent room. Location, location, location. Just can't beat the clean beach at Grand Coral. The white sand and clear water are sooooo awesome! The hotel actually rakes the sand every nite! Service is excellent at pool & beachside, but no jacuzzi? Restaurants are overpriced 150.00 for lobster! Room service was excellent and reasonable. Remember to ask for 25% off food & bev card. Lots of restaurants, shops and nightlife within a few minutes walk of hotel. Housekeeping was awful only used once. Our personal items were all scatered about and some even on the floor. Didn't want to bother with front desk anymore so just had extra towels brought up daily. The Grand Coral looks like a 5 star hotel but some of the services are definitely well below that mark.
