This was our first time to cozumel & our first snorkeling experience. The hotel is right next door to chankanaab park which is an excellent place to spend the day. It is also right next door to the money bar & this whole stretch of beach is iron shore & is excellent snorkeling from shore. Since we went there to snorkel & to swim with the dolphins we couldn't have picked a better location. The staff were hard working friendly & were easy to communicate with. For the price We couldn't have asked for more

Space and price. Location. The hotel is so far to downtown and activities, but you need a car to get there anyways. The hotel is focused on people who do diving, and that being the reason to be far. No entertainment at all, justTV on the rooms.

Good value, great for diving, loved the ocean view. Staff was very helpful. We went for a quick getaway to do some diving and were very pleased from the time we got there to the time we left. It met the expectations we had. We used the Dive House on site for our diving and were very happy with the whole experience.

We booked less than a three weeks before going and found this hotel to be a nice value for a short notice booking. It was the down season so we had no problem getting a space near the pool or a beach cabana. We'd talked about booking a snorkeling trip, but when we arrived we saw tour boats dropping snorkelers off just off-shore, we decided to do our trips just from shore. The reefs around the hotel close and quick to dive or snorkel. Making a good comeback from Wilma. We did the European Plan and thought it was a good choice. The food at the hotel was OK, but we were glad we weren't stuck eating there all week. The staff was very nice to us and concierges were excellent, they'd jump up the minute we got near the front door. The adjacent PADI independent dive shop was also very good, did 5 dives with them. We had the basic ocean view room, which was what we expected. The beds being a little hard would really be my only complaint about the room. Good value for the cost.

Fiesta Americana is simply a wonderful hotel chain. They pay attention to all the details. This is primarily a resort for divers and snorkelers. If you are looking for a place to entertain the little kids, this is not for you. Fiesta Cozumel is mostly adults and older teens who are interested in diving and snorkeling. The staff is fabulous. Arnold, on the activities staff is the best. He will take you on the best snorkeling tour. The breakfast buffet has something for everyone and the food is great! I would not get the all inclusive plan, as I like to exlore in town. There are so many great places to eat. Rent a car and enjoy San Miguel.

Attractive, spacious room with large balcony and attractive bathroom. Isolated from any other shop, service and restaurant. The natural beach was wiped out by hurricane. It is a place for people who want to be stuck at a boring resort and is completely unsuitable for anyone who wants to do anything outside the hotel unless you have a car.

Stayed at the Fiesta Americana on the advise of a friend who has been there many times. Found the hotel to be very nice with great staff who go out of their way to help. Room was clean and the bed was great. View of the ocean was incredible. Used wi fi signal from the lobby by sitting on the balcony, kind of a slow signal, but I wasn't in a hurry. Snorkeling right at hotel is great. Did not do the all inclusive and wouldn't recommend unless you just want to stay put. We made it around the island twice and found many great places to eat. Highly recommend the Money Bar just north of the hotel. Would consider the all inclusive if we bring the kids, less hassle. One regret, I didn't snorkel the stretch from the Money Bar to the hotel. Didn't use the hotel pool once.

I have stayed in Cozumel 3 times and this was the worst place. There were several issues. When we first arrived we asked the clerk to change our USD into pesos. I watched her count the money and then hold a 100 peso bill in her hand. She waited while we counted the money and then handed it over when we found the count short. The bathroom smelled like sewer the entire time, probably related to the drain in the middle of the floor. The room was okay, bed was clean, but housekeeping knocked on the door at 9 o'clock at night to ask if we wanted clean sheets. Room service was an issue because they never answered the phone. When we called the desk for help they acted impatient with us. When we went to the ocean-side restaurant, the waiter seated us, and then proceeded to help himself to the juice at the buffet and continue with his conversation with the other waiters. We finally just got up and went back to our room. No one said anything. We were the only ones in the restaurant. The hotel is a behemoth, and our room was very far from the main areas. I just would not stay here again. Oh, and the internet was up and running only 1 of the days during our 4 day stay.

My husband is a scuba diver so it was the perfect location. The room we had was extremely clean with a balony with beach and ocean view. The beds were comfortable with good linens. We requested a non smoking room and were on the third level which is all non smoking. Breakfast was included and was great. We prefer not to do all inclusive because we like to explore the area when we are not on the dive boat. Everything was great and would be a great place for families with children.

Activities for adults and nice pool. Rooms were plain and food was average at best. Great location outside of town, beautiful pool area and caring staff.

EATS: We had a package including continental breakfast buffet. Buffet was always well-stocked. Service was attentive. We had one lunch at the beach-side Reef Restaurant - good service; fair food; gorgeous view. ROOM: We had a "Grand Class" cost-level room. It was spacious, well configured, and had a groovie balcony over-looking the sea and all the activity there - dive boats at the resort dock, passing boats headed for the southern reefs, snorkelers in the water right at the resort beach area and cruise ships in the distance. We recommend that you request the highest floor level available to take full advantage of this view and to escape the sometimes noisy pool activities. The balcony is a must for chilling-out after a full day exploring the island. AMENITIES: We enjoyed a professional massage in the beach area. STAFF: Front Desk staff were knowledgable and professional. The concierge gave us useful advice on "snorkling from shore" hot-spots. We have read previous reviewers' comments about agressive sales-pitching in the lobby for time-share packages at this hotel. This seems to be a thing of the past. They are more discreet in their offers to get you discounts on island activities [like snorkeling boat trips] in exchange for hearing their sales pitch. LOCATION: This hotel was in the perfect location for us. It was near enough to the town of San Miguel for gassing up the car and getting pesos at the ATM and dining. It is also convenient to the southern beach clubs (Palancar Beach, Alberto's, Corona Beach) and also Chankanaab Park. Best of all The Money Bar is a stone's-throw down the road (an easy walk) for sunset-viewing and good happy hour deals nightly and live music on the weekends. Also nearby is the friendly and trippy Piratas Restaurant (go there).

Mom and 15 yr old daughter traveling alone. Arrived at hotel with average expecations and loved it !! Rooms clean, staff friendly and helpful, felt very safe and comfortable there. Snorkling was very nice, it's worth walking to Money Bar down the street to snorkle, there are large coral heads there. All inclusive was worth it just to have the option to dine there for at least lunch and breakfast. Dinner was good, not gourmet, and different each night. Probably not good for picky eaters, as the dishes are a bit different and you need to be willing to try new things. Very easy to take a taxi to town and have dinner there too ! Went there for the sun and sea so did not spend any time at the pool. Go to the plaza downtown on Sunday nights - they have locals bands and a fiesta from 7-10pm. We cannot wait to return to Cozumel and plan to go back to the Fiesta Americana.

This is a great resort especially for the price. I would not recommend the all inclusive because the food is not that great (except the breakfast buffet). The Money Bar is just a short walk down the street and has wonderful food and live bands on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 2 for 1 drinks on Friday, Saturday and Sunday too!!! It only cost us $10.00 for 4 people to take a cab into town. Lots of great places to eat there. As far as scuba diving - we dove with the ScubaDu team for the second time and they are first class all the way. Great guides and they take good care of you! Don't know about the on site group Dive House but a lot of people were diving with them. Well worth the money!!!!

The location was great - close enough to both good snorkeling spots and to town. The hotel and grounds were in good physical condition. The food was pretty good (we did not go all-inclusive) and the service was adequate. We were glad we ended up getting a rental car. Our friends who didn't get one reported $12 taxi rides each way to town, plus we were able to go from beach to beach and explore the island very easily. It's definitely too far to walk to town or to other beaches. Oh - and the snorkeling right in front of the hotel was pretty good, too. The pools were scenic and well-kept, but way too cold for swimming.

We just returned home from Coz. stayed at the Fiesta Americana. The hotel was very nice. We enjoyed the stay and the convenience of the location. The sunsets in the evening were excellent! I did (2) dive trips, but did not use the dive shop at the hotel. I am sure they are fine, but I get a better deal w/ Studio Blue whom I have been diving with for many years. S.B. would pick me up at the dock in front of the hotel and I was at the dive site within 15 to 20 minutes. We did not go All-Inclusive as we rented a car for the week and explored many different restaurants. When we did eat at the hotel, the food was good. Hint- Go to the grocery store and about 5 miles away and stock up on wine. They have a nice selection. We found a good merlot from Chile that was about 4 US per bottle. Take your own cork screw as you will have a touch time finding one on the island. Enjoy your bottle with your honey as the sun is setting. P.S. throw in a good Cuban cigar which can be found at the gift shop and you are in Heaven. When you snorkel at the hotel, enjoy the 5' barracuda that hangs out at the dock...I took some great underwater pictures of him....We will be back!

The trip was mainly for scuba diving and used the Dive House across the street for the Boat dives and Shore dives. Both the Fiesta Americana Hotel & Dive House was first class. Only thing that was missing was an all inclusive package to include scuba diving with the trip. For example include an option for the Hotel stay along with scuba diving using the Dive House.

We arrived at the hotel early, but were able to check in at that time. Our room was spacious and clean and there was a free safe in the room. The turn-down service also replaced towels which was nice. We went diving every day and were picked up at the dock every morning by our boat. We opted to rent a car and drive into town for lunch most days and again for dinner each day rather than eat at the hotel. As a vegetarian, I wasn't interested in having the same meal every night- there are some wonderful restaurants in San Miguel. The all inclusive guests still had to pay for a part of the Christmas Eve dinner. Parking was easy and free. Although, there was almost always a taxi waiting outside the hotel if we had opted for no car. There was a big push by numerous staff to hear their sales pitch over 1-2 hrs to get $100 in money to spend at the hotel. Our 3 meals and numerous beverages didn't total that much.

My husband and I were there for two weeks and were treated like kings. Everyone was so nice and helpful. We did not get the all-inclusive plan, but once there we were given the option to get it and we did, for $45 dollars a day, and it was very worth it. The food & drinks are great. There is also great snorkeling right off of the hotel, and the swimming pools are great, they also have a pool bar, which is very nice. We had a great time. This hotel is also very family friendly if you are traveling with kids, there were many families with kids, even babies, they also offer babysitting services too. They also have a dive shop at the hotel if you like to go diving and my husband had a great time diving. I absolutely recommend this hotel to everyone. Another good thing is that is away from downtown and away from tourists...LoL...only 5-10 minutes away from downtown!!! Great Location!!!

All in all we were very pleased with our stay. The Rooms were spacious and clean (although dark at night due to strange in-room lighting). The balcony was great with an amazing ocean view! The lobby, hallways and rooms are all tile which are great for lugging around wet equipment after a dive. The pool was very pleasant, and well kept. The staff were very friendly and helpful and even helped teach me my numbers in Spanish; although we were approached for a "promotional offer" with a free lunch. All in all it was a great value and we would probably stay again. The food was so-so and I'm glad we did not take the all inclusive package. For convenience we did the breakfasts at the hotel, and if you order off the menu instead of the buffet you can get more affordable food. Drinks and food are priced as though you were in the states. With so many great dining options in downtown Cozumel I would not take the all-inclusive. My only complaints are the hallways are above the drain field for the septic tank (a fairly common draw back in mexico). Drinks and food are pricey, and the rooms are dark. The hotel is close to the reefs and most dive charters will pick you up on the pier at the hotel. However, you are a fair distance from town and need to take a cab back and forth (about 6 dollars each way). In general, if you are a diver, this is the hotel for you. We went with another dive charter (deep blue) as the in-house shop was more expensive.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. I have been spending holidays in Coz for 15 years, tried four hotels, the F.A. suits me fine, laid back, comfortable, it fits like an old shoe. Want glitz and glamor? Go to Vegas.
