Having never visited this part of Washing State before we did expect nice views which this site does not offer. We had made the reservation on line and when we were checking in I asked if they accepted AAA or AARP for discounts and was advised that they did and that there would be a $10 discount for either one (of course, could not use both). Upon checking out I noticed that the rate had not been changed and when I asked about it I was told that the on line rates were correct and no discount would be made but that I could talk to the manager who was not then available. I called several times. The manager never took a call, never returned a call and of course, never adjusted the price. The whole lack of customer service or even courtesy is enough to keep me away in the future.

If you want a decent room at a reasonable price, this hotel is a good choice. It is well located, being only a few miles from both the ferry terminal to the west and Deception Pass State Park. They have updated it so that it looks clean on the outside and it is clean on the inside. The rooms on the south side are most sheltered from highway noise if that bothers you. Ground floor access to the rooms from the outside is available which makes unloading and loading the car a breeze. A reasonable breakfast is included offering cereal, waffles you bake fresh, eggs, bacon and sausage (you can construct your egg McMuffin if you like), Yogurt, etc. Hot tub was open. Pool was just being filled for the year when we stayed. Would stay again during another visit to the area.

Hotel was not at all what we expected. Once we arrived we were charged extra money. The manager was quite rude too.We booked a standard room with two queen beds, but instead they looked like doubles. The room was filthy. The bathroom was very small. In the four days that we stayed our room was never cleaned and we never had fresh bedding or towels put in the room.We had to ask for fresh towels one day, and a trashbag on another to empty our own garbage. As far as the extended continnental breakfast, the only good thing is the juice, sausage and waffles. The location was great for what we had planned, but the freeway was so close that it was extremely noisy inside the room.We will never stay here again !!

Three couples stayed at the FCI in mid-July. The rooms were great! Very comfortable beds and the WiFi was excellent. The hot breakfast is outstanding; it far exceeds that of many large chains. They do very well for a smaller property. They have items for those who prefer something more hearty and for those who prefer something lighter (and healthier!). Close to the ferries and Deception Pass Bridge. You will need a vehicle to get to the ferries, as it is about 7 miles from the FCI. Stephanie at the front desk was very helpful in making the reservation and providing tips on places to dine and sites to see. My wife and I stayed here a couple of other times several years ago--they have gotten BETTER with age!

The Fidalgo Country Inn was very comfortable. We stayed in a clean and spaciaious deluxe King room on the second floor. There were two vanities, one in the main room and one in the bathroom which made it very convenient. The hotel is at the intersection of two highways which generates some traffic noise but fourtunately it was not very noticeable. The location is central (about 10 to 15 minutes)to LaConnor (Skagit Valley Tuplip Festival), Whibdey Island (Deception Pass), and Anacortes (Ferry to Victoria) The hotel serves a nice continental breakfast with cereal, eggs, sausage, muffins, fresh fruit, and beverages. The view was the only disappointing part of the stay as the view of Fidalgo Bay is mostly obstructed by trees lining the shore. I would definitely stay again.

We were in Seattle for the soap box derby but wanted to stay away from the city -- this hotel was perfect, only about an hour from Seattle but excellent for relaxing and winding down. The location near the ferries is perfect but not noisy, and the rooms were beautifully decorated and cozy with comfortable beds. Everything was spotlessly clean and the staff was helpful and friendly -- this place definitely made our little vacation extra special! We will be back!

Great staff. Great services. Hot tub was broken. No biggie! The owner and staff were top notch. We will definitely be staying there again. Great services too.

Make your own egg muffins for breakfast! Long check-in. Nice staff, quiet stay, nice room. Close to Anacortes, oak harbor and Mt Vernon. Great coffee and breakfast.

Clean, friendly. The only thing that we did not like about the room it was hard to maintain the room temperature at a comfortable temperature.

Room was small. Room was nice and clean but was a little small.

Location, clean. Front desk clerk was singularly unhelpful. With additional staff training for the reception staff, the visitors stay would be much more pleasant.

The breakfast was wonderful. Location was good for us. Difficult access to hotel; i.e. no left turn into hotel which forced a U turn if coming from that direction. Great complimentary breakfast! Everyone in our family was satisfied. Close proximity to the ferry which helped get us to the San Juan Islands early. Staff was super friendly.

Room amenities were excellent; bed very comfortable; quiet. Soiled underwear under the bed! Very poor front counter staff. The hotel was very easy to find. Seemed new. Room was excellent for that type of hotel. Total experience adversely impacted by poor customer service, inefficient and unintelligent staff. When informed of the soiled underwear under the bed, we were told "Oh, sometimes we forget to check under the beds." No apology; no embarrassment; nothing. It was disgusting.

Comfy beds, good shower. No movie channels has DVD and VCR machine but no movies. Stayed at the hotel in early April. I would imagine that it would be quite noisy in the summer as it is on the intersection of two busy roads. However, also conveniently located to Anacortes and deception pass/Burlington areas.

Bed was comfortable. The place was very clean. It was a fine hotel. Allthough it was a distance outside of Anacortes. It had a restaurant, a Espresso Stand & a 24 hour Mini Mart & gas pumps right next door. That was very convenient.

The rooms were very spacious for the star rating it had. Nothing. The staff were so eager to help us we needed to leave very early in the morning to catch the ferry and they called several restaurants to see what time they opened and when they didn't open early enough for us they said they would have the morning staff set up the continental breakfast earlier for us and they did. It was much nicer than the 2 star rating it had.
