Ate at some amazing restaurants, did a lot of shopping and laid on the beach a couple afternoons. Very restful and enjoyable 3 days with my daughter. yes, there is a train that goes by every few hours but it didn't really bother us - enjoyed the pool area also.

My family has stayed at this hotel regularly for over 20 years. It's changed ownership, but the benefits of staying in a large, elegant hotel directly across from the beach hasn't faded at all.

The hotel and their employees were professional and very welcoming. Pool, fitness center and convenient location. There was not one complaint we had, everything was great! We will be back soon!

Quick check in and the cookies at check in. Work being done outside our room. The hotel is beautiful and a nice place to stay. The staff was very helpful in suggesting a place for dinner. The only thing I can say negatively was that they were taking up tile outside of out room and the pool area, so was noisy and dusty, but I understand these things have to be done, just unfortunate we had to be there when it was happening.

Our family took the PCH trip and found Fess Parker's to be convenient and relaxing. One of the few name brand hotels in Santa Barbara, Fess Parker's is directly across the street from the beach with an unobstructed view of the Pacific ocean. The hotel is older but generally well appointed. The beds have been upgraded. We had a poolside room with patio a table and chairs. The pool is very large and very necessary after spending some much time in the car. They onsite steak house is pricey but good. I would stay there again. The place is family and pet friendy. Overall, a great place to stretch out and relax.

This is a fairly reasonably priced stay for a hotel that has ocean views, gorgeous landscaping, comfortable/contemporary/clean rooms, and a very nice pool. The entire complex is very spacious and open. You can see the mountains behind the hotel and the ocean in front. Very elegant, calm, and quiet. The staff is gracious and had no problem with accommodating early check-in and late check-out.

Decor, clean, courtesy and accessible. We enjoyed being able to walk around by the water, shop and have dinner at the various restaurants near by. We also spent a day in Solvang and return to the hotel for dinner. We had room service and the food was wonderful and service was very great.

My husband and I loved this place. I have stayed at another small hotel also on the beach and it didn't compare to this one. The staff was great--very friendly and helpful, the location is wonderful--right across the street from the beach, the parking is great (we parked ourselves but there is also valet--I'm actually not fond of valet parking and that is often all there is at other hotels), the grounds are beautiful, and the room was very comfortable. The hotal is bordered by the railroad but we didn't find this a problem, and we didn't hear any pets. There was some noise transfer via the balconies from adjoining rooms but just having a balcony made up for it--we sat out on it in the morning with coffee and newspaper and in the evening to unwind. I will definitely stay here again.

We just LOVED this hotel!!! It is a good walk just getting to State Street so I'd advise taking the shuttle which runs every 15 mts and can be caught at the hotels corner or take a taxi. In the evening and when the bars closed cabs were lined up all along State Street. Definitely try O'Malleys, we had a blast there. Good music, 2 floors and a patio also. The beach peaceful and quiet is right across the street from the hotel. East Beach Grill is nearby and has good food - beware the gulls WILL steal food! This hotel was a great value for what we paid which was $165 a night. I booked well in advance and got a great deal on Orbitz! We did not eat there so I could not give an honest rating of their Dining Options.

In order to advise people of the problem, I had to put in a date. This is when I contacted the Doubletree...we didn't make reservations for the following reason: We used to stay there throughout the past several years. A year ago when we stayed we found that they started using fragrance in all the guest rooms. It was a miserable night. I had asthma and needed maximum meds to stand the smell and had to open the slider, even though they did try to give us the least smelly room. I have contacted them and ask them to consider using fragrance free cleaners, such as many hospitals use. They do not want to consider it, I guess, because they are still using the chemical "fragrance"...don't know what they are trying to mask. Please be advised that there are basically toxins in the rooms, so you may want to reconsider staying there, especially if you are sensitive.

Excellent room size and amenities inside. Comfortable bed and huge flat screen TV, balcony with good views. Great location right next to the ocean, make it a nice walk on the beach, to the pier and state street.

Top notch, very well managed. Only had a mini bar no small fridge to keep milk juice or kids snacks cold. They always say location is everything. My ocean view room had a great view of the Santa Barbra Bay. We ate at there steak house the food was great. A little pricey, seven dollars for a side dish! We did have room service one night one of the best hamburgers I ever had. Pool area was very nice. One more thing, you need a better basketball hoop.

Not only is this hotel right acrosss from the beach, but it also has a huge nicely heated pool. Our night - time swim under the stars was perfect . The beds were plush and room was nice and very clean. It was worth the "splurge" ($450 for a night) and would recommend it for the perfect getaway. It is also walkable distance from the downtown area- and the Art show stroll along the beach walk was fun too. Lots of great crafts and gifts to be found.

This was my 4th trip to Santa Barbara but my first stay at the Fess Parker's Doubletree Resort. I loved the location and definitely would stay there again. Unfortunately, I was busy moving my daughter into her housing for school so was unable to use most of the facility but hopefully can return for a leisurely visit soon. I'm a runner so walking right across the street and running on the beach was a delight!

the location to the beach is the best perk. I did notice the train noise when checking in but I stayed on the beach side. Only stayed for one night, but had a great nights rest.
