July Short brakeWe booked this room just 2 nights prior to staying. Chose it for the location and on previous reviews. Only fault was the size of the room; no room to swing that proverbial cat, though was clean with good size bathroom (window did not close, so lucky it was warm). Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent.

Very friendlyOnly stayed one night - however the room was very clean and well presented, but the best thing was the staff, who were VERY friendly and helpful.

would never ever stay there againthe only window in the room opened outside onto a sewage pipe and the smell was disgusting.staff were pleasant and helpfull, but the room was more like student accomodation than a hotel which cost almost 200 pound for 2 nights.

had 2 twin rooms - 1 was a good size with proper bathroom. the other was very small, no reading lights (only overhead and desk light) and a tiny bathroom with a miniscule sink. made washing almost impossible. The window was filthy. the difference in the standards of the rooms was amazing. The beds were very comfortable in both rooms. The staff was very friendly. Would say stay away from room 19 if giving recommendation.

Feathers hotelI can't comment on the food since I didn't dine there nor order breakfast. My LateRooms booking for which I paid £44 looks a little less good value for money when I reflect that I paid £7.50 for overnight parking and would have paid an extra £7.50 for breakfast had I ordered it. However, I had a favourable overall impression of the hotel and my room was clean, comfortable and equipped with a large and sophisicated T.V. All the other advertised conveniences - kettle, hairdryer etc - were in place and working. Staff were pleasant and helpful at all times.

Be wary of extra charges, not being offered all of the hotels servicesWhen I arrived at the hotel Iwas greeted by a pleasant young man who asked if we had come by car and promptly directed me to the hotels private car park. We went to reception after parking and he asked if i was goin to pay for my stay then to which i said yes, he then came out with a figure nothing like what I was quoted from late rooms, he ammended it to the price late rooms had quoted then proceeded to tell me when my car was in the car park that there is a charge for parking. Shocked as there is no mention of this on late rooms or feathers website! The room was pleasant but there was initially no remote for the tv, the bathroom window was painted shut, the shaver light didn't work the hair dryer didn't work! The wireless capability worked for 15 minutes on our arrival but then never worked for the rest of the stay, there was no mention of the possibiltity of using local leisure facilities which i had enquired about prior to my arrival. When we came to check out again I was told I had not been charged enough to this i produced my late rooms reciept again and showed them the price so they left it at that and allowed me to check out.Altogether not a very enjoyable stay it was only made pleasureable by the weather and the location.

Very individualThis is a quirky fun hotel whose staff are generally extremely good. Full of Americans whilst I was there so you know it's good value! Private parking is a little precarious so don't bring your Ferrari, but very cheap. Rooms are indivually decorated to a high standard for the price but when I stayed it was a very muggy night and there was no air or ventillation apart from the open window. Loved the warren of corridors and themed wings of the hotel and would definitely stay again

Feathers reviewThe moment you walk in the door you are greated with a freindly atmosphere and staff are very warm and welcoming. The rooms are well equiped and comfy if a little smug, Day I arrived Kitchen was closed but that was not a problem the staff very helpful in directing me to places to eat. Breakfast is my favourite meal when I get to stay away and it was top notch

The staff were very friendly and helpful. our room was one of the best ones and had a foorposter bed. however there were no lights in the bed so we couldn,t read. as the room was on the street it was noisy. also we couldn,t open the window and it was very hot. We would stay again but ask for a room at the back.

At first we were given a room that was very small, very hot and nothing worked, we didnt even have a phone to ask for anything, when we went to reception to ask for things ie a phone, fan we were told someone would bring it to our room, nobody came untill we had been 4 times, when they eventuly came an saw that nothing was working in the room they moved us to another room, this room was lovely and we were both very happy.

Decent placeGood value for money for what I paid (prepaid deal). Room fine though just a little noisy, facing the carpark. Good breakfast. Good to have use of the University pool a short walk up the road, for those who don't mind swimming with 30 or so students at the same time. Free WiFi in bedrooms.

The room was very hot all of the time and we were on the ground floor so with the window open it could get quite noisy but excellent service and friendly/helpful staff.

Just what we expected.......the standard room in the Nautical wing were small but clean and tidy with descent fixtures and fittings. The staff were extremely helpful from arriving in the car park to checking out the morning after. We didn't eat at the hotel but would have had no reasons not to unless we hadn't made plans elsewhere. Would recommend the hotel to anyone.

Birthday tripSpent May bank holiday weekend there. Good central location, that being said it was relatively quiet. Best price around and I did search extensively looking for a bargain. I have used a lot of hotels in downtown liverpool and for me personally this was the best in terms of quality against value. Only had breakfast but that was more than satisfactory. Even had a complimentary glass of bubbly with breakfast!

Single accommodationI was booked into a single room which was a disgrace The bed was falling to bits and the mattress had no spring in it. And the furniture in the room was marked all over. I can sleep anywhere but it was impossible to sleep on this bed. So i asked to be moved. The staff very polite and moved me into a double room straight away for the rest of my stay. It made me think that this must happen every time somebody is put in that room. The staff were very polite throughout my stay. The breakfast was okay but i would not say it was up to the standard for a four star hotel. However, the central location made up for concerns.
