Nestled a top a south-facing hill, this large custom property with soaring living space, large expanses of windows overlooks the town of Lake Taupo, the pristine lake and mountains.
Falls Chateau is our showcase boutique accommodation residence! A range of accommodation options available; a suite, one bedroom apartment, lodge queen rooms, or luxury duplex two level apartment. Alternatively rent the entire Chateau as the apartment and suite have inter-connecting doors. There are no communal facilities. All guests have private entrances, bathrooms and lounges.
The Location is quiet, yet just minutes to Lake Taupo, geothermal attractions , and the stunning Huka Falls. An excellent restaurant, winery and private vineyard just steps away.
The Chateau is richly decorated in a modern style, with beautifull artwork and evokes a warm, inviting feeling, with attention to detail through out.

Information as provided is misleading. The place is not really an hotel, but much closer to a B & B without breakfast or an extended stay facility.

The Falls Chateau is a lovely place to stay for any length of time and we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay overnight and would love to stay again. The only wee problem is lack of signage, just a small sign/name on the building would be great, especially when trying to find it at night. Thank you!

Excellent service from Allen the owner. On checking out I advised him of rattle in air con system & noisy fridge. Within 4 hours I had txt saying air con was fixed & fridge replaced. Good stuff.

Pros. Apartment smaller tha anticipated - quality furnishings made up for this. Binocs and b/fast spreads nice touches. Good views from lounge. Shower is tops. Excellent drawers and shelves for folded clothes. Manager ultra-helpful. (Mobile phone needed to contact him) Cons. Very limited crockery - our plastic picnic set was necessary. Not one hook to hang coats or other things on - not even in bathroom. W/robe rail takes only six hangers with clothes. Advertised robes and phone not there. Didn't spot the mini-gym. No signage at front. Street number hidden when one car parked on site. Can't imagine arriving in darkness as difficult to find - directions map unreliable. No management or reception on site. Promo price @ $145 about right - any higher may be over the top.

Falls Chateau is a large house on a new development at the entrance to the Huka Falls area and is close to Taupo. The house has been divided into several properties that are advertised as separate units. The central part of the house is spectacular in its facilities. An oustanding kitchen, a marvellous glass dining table and chairs, three excellent sofa areas, and two very good bedrooms. The oddity is that you can hear what is going on in the other properties that are part of the house because there are only normal internal doorsbetween them, although of course these are kept locked. It produces an uncomfortable experience. The house is of very high quality and is very well equipped, but I would not stay there again because of the noise from the other properties. The owner should create proper sound-proof doors between the properties.

As noted by other reviewers, the office is not easy to find particularly in the dark but as long as you print out the online maps it is achievable. The accomodation is first class in architecture, fittings and furnishings. We booked a studio room but were upgraded to a one bedroom which was tastefully furnished including king size bed, leather lounge suite, flat screen tv, walk-in wardrobe and good bathroom. Only thing missing was the kitchen sink but tea & coffee making faciilities were tastefully installed in a double cupboard including fridge, jug, coffee mugs and a nice selection of glassware. Double glazing provides a quiet noise free enviroment.
