The Fairmont Pierre Marques Hotel is a classic...There might be other newer and architecturally more 'modern' hotels,but this one takes you back to Acapulco's Golden Era. The rooms have been renovated to luxurious comfort while the outside has been kept intact...This hotel offers areas where the whole family can enjoy activities and more than one pool, or more quiet spaces (the central pool area) where you can just relax and enjoy the view of the Pacific Ocean...The 'Tabachin' restaurant is a unique experience you should not skip... There is a shuttle every few minutes which will take you to the Fairmont 'next door': the incredible,though busier, Acapulco Princess Hotel... After not having been in Acapulco for a few years,this stay made us wish we should plan a trip once a year to this beautiful hotel... Hoping to be there next year, Betty and Alex Weisz NOTE: Only one comment: the ONLY thing on the menu we definitively did not like was the Ceviche served at the Pierre's restaurant by the pool.. Although we live in Canada we are originally from Mexico,and this choice would probably disappoint many clients!! The one at the Princess' 'Beach Club' restaurant was FAR MUCH better!!!!

The hotel and service were nice overall but not worth what they cost. Buffet dinner for a family of four cost me 130+ before adding a tip with only soft drinks (3.20 for a can of Coke) and the food was moderate quality at best. Even my kids said they were disappointed by the dinner buffet. The room was okay but not really up to the standard I would expect for a room costing over 300 a night after taxes. We had 2 ice machines on our floor and both were broken the first night and only one worked by the second night. Location is nice but away from town which limits food choices unless you pay for a taxi.

Hotel was beautiful and clean. But the rooms were inconsistent in terms of drinking glasses, shower cap, and small frig in certain rooms. No clear communication for phones charges, especially when using a free toll number and also the beach towel charges; basically, there were a lot of surprise charges ... not cool!

We rented a car at the airport because the resort is far from downtown and we like to explore. Very restful and beautiful location great for lounging, reading and painting. We didn't play golf or tennis but many other did. Upscale dinning room fix price meal was excellent and the Mexican wine tasty but you need to dress to eat inside and I'd advise a reservation. Shuttle to the Princess ran regularly for a change of pace. We had a medical emergency and the staff was very helpful and located a pharmacy to deliver the medicine.

The trip to Acapulco was great. We hope a full and croud hotel and regular service, but we found excellente service, very good location, then our family had a good time.

Is very old, too expensive for the category of the hotel. The check in person is not very nice.
