Surrounding Location:
Falmouth, Jamaica On Jamaica’s north coast, Falmouth is an old Colonial city and was once one of Jamaica’s busiest ports. The top tourist draw is Martha Brae Rafters’ Villagers, where visitors take a three-mile-long raft down a river seeking out “hidden gold” in a yet-to-be-discovered cave. Other attractions include the Greenwood Great House, an antiques museum; and the 19th century St. Peter’s Anglican Church.
Additional Information:
Amenity highlights: A 46-meter-long (150-foot-long) free-form pool includes a children's section at one end and a swimup bar and 30-meter-long (100-feet-long) waterslide at the other. A sunning platform set above the beach features a six-person spa tub. The resort's 229-meter (250-yard) oceanfront features two beaches (55 meters/60 yards and 137 meters/150 yards long), with water kept calm by artificial reefs and shallow enough for children. As part of the All Inclusive Plan, families with small children are assigned a trained "vacation nanny" for the duration of their stay.

This is a great place to go and simply do nothing! Aside from a couple of short excursions to Montego Bay and Falmouth, we spent the week at the resort. The resort itself is older, however it is well maintained, and kept clean. Rooms were comfortable, and it was nice to have separate areas for our small children. Meals became repetitive after a week, but there was always something there for most tastes. The italian restaurant was amazing! It was also nice to swing by the grill by the pool and have a plate of jerk chicken and an adult beverage! They had activities for adults, teens and kids running all day long, every day. Of course, the included vacation nanny was wonderful as it gave us an opportunity to have 'adult' time. Our son rapidly warmed to the nanny and looked forward to seeing her daily. All in all a very relaxing trip for families. I would not suggest it for singles!

Family friendly with fabulous vacation. Mosquitoes. This is a wonderful vacation for families with young children. The nannies keep them happy and safe so the adults can have a stress free vacation.

Check-In was a breeze. Room was charming with a spectacular view! Our Vacation Nanny came within minutes, and after explaining some stuff to us, took our toddler and showed him around the place. What a respite after 5 hours of traveling. The Nanny inspired trust right away. We knew our precious toddler was in safe hands. She was amazing during our whole stay at Pebbles This was our 3rd All Inclusive and this one was by far the best. The food was better than a few 5 stars we have been at in Jamaica and Mexico. The resort is roomy yet small enough to find your loved ones in minutes. Plenty of activities for kids, tweens, and teens. Teen Director is great!! He is a real role model for teens and boy can he dance and rap! The grounds are beautiful, I talked to one of the gardeners and they are proud of their work, and rightly so! The photographer is located at the excursion desk, I almost missed him. I'm glad we didn't though. He took wonderful pictures within minutes. Thanks for the beautiful memories on paper! We saw the Manager daily, what a great thing to see the manager of the property interacting with the employees and guests. He was there early, we'd see him drinking coffee at 6am, and then we'd also see him later as well. Even if this doesn't have a 5 star rating, it still is a topnotch place. Since it is a smaller resort, we even got to know some of the other guests, which was really a plus! Don't forget to bring plenty of T-shirts for the kids to tie-dye! The giftshop is expensive on them and the Nannies do a fantastic job! One won't be enough! Kudos to FDR Pebbles!!!

We did a lot of research before booking our vacation at FDR Pebbles. I read many reviews and they were positive. We LOVED Pebbles. It is not a luxury resort, but it is exactly as reviews and pictures portrayed. Our vacation nanny, Geneve, was wonderful as were all the staff. I am a fairly conservative/protective mother, but I felt 100% confident with my children (age 6 and 10) with the nanny. They had a blast. The resort is small and personal. We stayed in block 8 (ocean view), and we had a totally unobstructed view of the ocean which was only about 50 steps from our room. I would highly suggest Peblbles to families looking for a really fun vacation that is laid back at a small, casual resort. I look forward to going back.

fdr pebbles offered very good nanny services. even though i did not bring my kids, the children that were there were paired off with a nanny allowing for adults/parents some free time to themselves. they offered a daycare type center for arts and crafts, there was a games room, and pool. i noticed the kids present were occupied throughout the day and not to mention they haada the beach at their disposal as well. the next time i return to jamaica i will definitely consider fdr pebbles and if the kids come along then we will certainly book there. as well the was great, an overall great and simple place to go.

Only one restaurant and one snack bar open every day. My wife and I were quite happy about our decision to stay at Pebbles. Our choice was heavily influenced by the fact that we have two kids under 3 (that we didn't want to leave behind with a relative) and that Pebbles assigns an nanny to each family that is on duty from 9-4 (and can continue, for $4/hour, afterward). We also both liked the relative small size of Pebbles, as we didn't have to deal with throngs of people, a huge facility to traverse, or the impersonal nature that is endemic to mega-resorts. The food was pretty good, particularly the Jamaican offerings (the Italian restaurant, other than having an excellent location right on the beach, was not impressive). I also thought most of the staff was friendly

Nice room with a divider (not separate) room with a Queen and then two day beds in the lounge. We spent little time in the room as it was nice to be on the beach, by the pool or at the playground. Great place to go with kids - everyone else had them too so they had free reign and lots to do - or if they wanted to they could just hang out. Our nannies (We got 2 as one was in training) were good at taking the kids or just playing with them near us when our 1.5yr old got clingy. Take lots of US dollars as after hours babysitting is great but needs to be payed in cash to the nanny. Food was good - kids loved the options available all day and the early kids dinner. Not much variety from one day to the next though. Only problem I had was I had a great beach side massage but having booked for a 30 min one was given ( a great ) 1 hour one - but then had to pay for the hour - more than I had budgeted.

The best aspect - The Nanny. She was great with the 5 year old with one exception, she allowed him to become covered in mosquito bites. The worst aspect - the location. About half an hour or 30.00 per person from Montego Bay the closest town. If you want any activity other than the pool, you pay not only for the activity (horse riding, rafting, shopping and ect) but also a whole bunch for the transportation. That being said there is zero to do in or near the hotel. We actually saw people with guns concealed in their pants. This area is not safe. There is tremendous poverty and the obvious crime that follows poverty. Your option is the pool. The tennis courts are in poor condition with hand painted lines. The staff is very friendly. The food. If you are into curried goat and lamb, this is the place for you. If the curried goat is served at dinner you better eat it all or it will be the main dish for lunch the next day. That is the way it worked, eat it now or you will get it again the next day. The rooms are alright.

We had a great vacation in August (depite being rained out 2 days by Gustav). X was our nanny for our 3 and 7 year old children. She was absolutely fabulous. Ask for her and mommy and daddy will have a nice relaxing vacation!. This was the most R&R we've had in 7 years. The drinks were great, the food was great (though you do have to remember it's not 100% american style food - be adventerous and try different things!). As for recycling food in other reviews, I can't see that happening. There was low volume of guests when we went, but constant barrage of differnet food at each meal (even through the hurricane!). The area seemed safe to me, even in the closest town of Falmoth (montego bay is NOT the closest town!). Great rooms, just wear bug spray before the sun sets!!! Keep your room doors closed, or bugs will get in and bite you at night. You're just about in a jungle, so there will be bugs no matter what. (I got more bites in NY the night I came back though). Hagglers on the beach can be annoying. Be sure to keep the nanny late ($6 an hr after 4:40pm) and spend a night at "Time N Place" next door - about the best place in the word in my booki! I might not recommend for couples, but for families with small children, PERFECT!

The resort was beautiful and the staff was awesome. It was a dream vacation for me. My only issue was that the hotel did not want to exchnge american money to jamaican dollars so finding change was somewhat of a hassle. Othe than that, the nanny service was exceptional and food was good although the food in the main dining area was not really child friendly but the poolside bar made up for it with a daily children's menu. This is a great family resort but take your own change! I did thinki the excursions were outrageously priced so I stayed on the resort.

We were a group of 8 adts and 8 kids looking for someplace inexpensive and we found it. While the staff at FDR Pebbles was mostly wonderful, the rest of the experience was a bit shakey. The rooms seemed spacious enough, yet 3 of the 6 rooms had insect problems. The property itself is very small, great for a few days, but I can see the one pool and beach ( half of which was seaweed infested) getting a bit dull for longer than that. The one plus of the size of the hotel was that we could let the kids (16-10)go where they wanted with the exception of the beach (local peddlers come right up to you on the beach to sell their treasures). The food was.....I don't even know what to say about the food. Let's put it this way, the kids ate pasta with butter and the adults and burgers and jerk chicken. The french fries were great !! The entertainment staff did a lot to keep the kids involved, we were the only ones with kids over 5 there at the time. They made it fun and exciting. They got them involved in the fashion show, rode the water slide with them, snorkeled with us, played with them in the game room, helped us in a few wild games of pool volleyball. The bartenders and cook at the pool worked nonstop to make sure you had what you needed. We did have an issue with one employee coming right out and asking for a tip. As we said while we were there, it is not where you are it is who you are with !!!

In Aug. '08, our family wanted to go to Jamaica. We had never been to an all inclusive hotel. We really enjoyed our stay. The kids did not want to leave. The variety of food was plentiful & great. The hotel was landscaped with beautiful flowers, trees, & shrubs. Our room was comfortable & roomy for all 4 of us. The beach was well kept. Although our children wanted to stay with us, the nanny made herself available for service (no fee during the day). Numerous activities for the children and teens to participate. Off the premise excursions were available. I could have made our stay more pleasant if I had done 2 things: brought insect repellent & extra money!!!

While not the highest class hotel, the nannies made it worth while. My daughter almost hugged her nanny to pieces when we were leaving! The food is adequate and plentiful. A rather long delay to get our room on arrival did not go unnoticed by the hotel manager and the staff who took us to get lunch and drinks while we waited. Waiting got to be a habit, waiting for meals to start, waiting for the pool to open, waiting for towels. The plumbing leaves much to be desired as there was no hot water ever, but all around a good time for all.

We had such a good time, everyone was so friendly and went out of their way to make our 25th wedding anniversary celebration and my son's 21st birthday so wonderful. We ask for coconut water and we got a big jug on our dinner table! Service always with a smile, very friendly and the food was great! Thanks from the Sukhu's N.Y.

My family and I had a wonderful time at FDR Pebbles in March of 2007. The staff is really what made the trip spectacular. I went with a very picky person and was expecting many complaints but he did nothing but rave about the place. My 4 & 7 year olds had the time of their lives with their nanny. She even went in the ocean and pool with them! Despite the amazing nanny service we still spent a lot of time with the kids and had an amazing experience. Thanks to all at Pebbles who made our stay outstanding! :)

FDR Pebbles Resort was nice and relaxing. You did not feel as if you were a tourist (a tourist atmosphere). The room was well maintained and comfortable. The location was very nice and secluded. The activities for the kids at the resort were limited, there could have been more water activities (i.e., jet skis, para-sailing, etc.). The basketball and tennis court need reparing. Staff service was moderate. The majority of the staff were friendly and accomodating. The tourist desk staff was very helpful in scheduling a woderful trip to Negril. The great treatment staff provided can be overshadowed by some of the FDR Pebbles staff being very rude. All in all, my family and I had a good time in Jamaica.
