Extended Stay Carlsbad by the Sea was very accessible from the 5 freeway. Denny's was a stone's throw away, but if you want to eat somewhere else, restaurants were a few blocks away. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. An outlet was 2 exits away - a great place to shop.

Conviently located. The place was dirty, the beds are very uncomfable. I would not go back. Even if it was free. The staff well there was only two people and one worked the night shift and one worked the day. They were also the housekeepers. So that explains the cleaness of the rooms.

I always bring my own shampoo and conditioner when I travel but if you don't that might be a minus. I thought the place was nice, clean, and had a great location. I liked having a fridge, microwave, and untensils. The bed was pretty comfortable considering I have a double pillow top at home. They don't have breakfast but they do have an in room coffee machine. Niether of which I use anyways but just an FYI. The only complaint was the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night...like 4:00am but thats not the hotels fault.

The hotel within a short walk of Carlsbad Village and the beach. Unfortunately it backs to Highway 5 and gets lots of freeway noise. This was the smallest ESA room I have ever stayed in. You have to ask for everything. There wasn't shampoo or an extra pillow in the room and there is no maid service to change towels or the bed sheets.

They did not have cribs available. They charged us to get a bigger bed -only had queen beds for priceline rate. It was good for the money that we paid. If it would have been more expensive - it would have been a rip off. We have a 6 month old - and we needed a crib. They don't offer cribs at the hotel - don't have them. So our son had to sleep on a makeshift bed made of blankets on the floor. We were also charged a $10 fee because we wanted a bed other than a queen.

The bed was so hard and uncomfortable that we might as well have slept on the floor. The room smelled musty and the people downstairs played loud music that went right through the thing walls.

Good sized space, wi fi. Right on top of the freeway and noisy.

Close location to the freeway. Interior decor not too good. Cheap, good location. Hotel looks better from the inside than it does from the inside.

kitchen. I would not recommend this hotel and was very close to the freeway.

Nothing. No WIFI, noisey, dirty! Upon arrival I found that the bed was broken and missing a leg, and had to wait 3 days to have it fixed. The linens were stained and burned by cigarettes, the WIFI rarely worked, there was a drug bust the very first night, a fire the second night, and the staff was very unfriendly. They also do not clean the rooms daily, the overall hotel was filthy, the pool was not usable, and had towels thrown in it. This hotel is nasty and should be shut down.

Very spacious rooms. Extremely clean and well stocked. Staff very friendly. It was flawless. Easy to find with huge clean modern rooms. Close to freeway and dining. Staff very kind and friendly.

The kitchen was useful. The beds were very uncomfortable and cheap. The surrounding area was scary, uncomfortable beds, the kitchen was useful.

It had a kitchen. No shampoo. The ESH was fairly decent, kinda no frills, but definitely good for business travelers or folks just looking for a place to sleep. The room had a full kitchen, which was kinda cool, they even provide plates, pots and pans.

None. Dirty and iffy customers. It's dirty. Smelly carpet. Hallway is dark. Loud noises. Iffy customers. Uncomfortable bed.

Good location. Maid service was only provided once a week. Cheap hotel, not the best hotel, maid service once a week was a problem.

I loved the fact that they did accept pets. There was an odd odor in the hallways. The hotel was located in a great place. There was a sense of unprofessional with the night staff and behind the counter was a little messy. But overall we were pleased with our stay.

Excellent value for a kitchenette. Staff very friendly and helpful. Traffic noise. Windows did tend to get stuck, and smoke detectors should had a silence mode. Nicely located hotel and very friendly staff. The price we paid was excellent, and cannot beat the value. The accommodations were very clean. No complaints.

Full kitchen in each room was excellent and compliment to travel with babies! Very convenient to the beach and quaint walking district shopping area. The area has a very small-town feel to it although this hotel was truly directly off the freeway exit. The rooms were all suites that include a full kitchen. The staff was so helpful they even printed out map quest directions to local tourist sites.

Nothing. One of our rooms smelled like fish. Terrible location, terrible hotel, uncomfortable beds. One of our rooms smelled like Fish, it was obvious the hotel staff knew this as the room was opened for airing-out, yet they still filled the room.

The staff was very courteous and helpful in resolving the problem with our room. The first room we got had a strongbad smell. The hotel is a good place to stay - conveniently located immediately off I-5 and a few blocks from the beach and Carlsbad Village shops and eateries. 1 pet is allowed per room, which is good if you travel with a pet. Unfortunately, the first room we got had a strong smell, which persisted even after running the fan with the windows open for 20 hours. Desk personnel moved us to a new room so they could shampoo the carpet. They were commendably helpful and courteous. Since I am traveling with children I needed to get an additional bed from their standard king size. For $10 per night they offered either a roll-away bed or a room with 2 full-size beds. Each room has a moderately sized fridge, 2 sets of dishes and utensils, a 2-burner stove, microwave and a couple pans. Rooms are only serviced once a week unless you pay an additional fee, but you can exchange towels at the desk at any time.
