I stayed at the Albany Extended Stay for 12 days out of my planned 45. After the second week's "weekly" refresh, I awoke the next morning covered in bug bites. I called the front desk and they said they would move me to another room after I washed all my clothes in case they had spread through the room. After spending four hours packing up my room, re-washing all the clothes I had just washed the night before and moving into another room. I went to use the bathroom in my new room. As I sat on the toilet, water dripped from the ceiling overhead onto my head. I couldn't even use the toilet in my new room without an umbrella! I went down to the front desk and told them that if I had to move again, after spending the last 4 hours moving, I was going to move to a different establishment. They couldn't fix the leak so I checked out. I asked for a refund for my stay, and they offered to give me a refund for the unused days I had prepaid. The clerk said he "wasn't authorized" to do more than that. When I received my statement, I found that they reimbursed me for only 1 of the 2 unused nights, because I had checked out after their hotel time requirement of 11:00 AM. Probably because I spent from 8AM - after Noon just moving rooms! You think? I spoke to the assistant manager the next day and he said he "wasn't authorized" to help me and I should contact the general manager, who wasn't in, but usually was (whatever). I left multiple messages and emails, and even stopped in twice. Finally I received an email nearly 48 hours later saying 'I'm off to a conference, but will try to resolve this when I get back in another 48 hours'. The email that I then received was "I've never had anyone ask for all their money back before." Really? I've never woken up at a hotel covered in bug bites and had the ceiling leaking on my head while I went to the bathroom before! I then received an email from the senior guest relations manager saying she "wasn't authorized" to resolve the issue and they had opened a claim with their insurance company to "determine liability". So now I'm 'liable' for being bitten by bugs and having their ceiling leak on me? Seriously - what a joke. Not only was the hotel experience terrible, but they demonstrated a lesson in "How not to resolve a complaint and make a customer even more upset". Horrible stay. Horrible building. Horrible customer service and problem resolution skills all the way up the chain. Horrible rating.

We stayed at the hotel for the convienience of attending the NY Giants training camp as well as Saratoga Race Track. SUNY Albany is directly across the street. It was our second stay at the hotel. I think that next time I'm going to go somewhere else. The room's walls were a little beat up and the carpet had numerous stains. I must have forgotten but you don't get daily room service other then getting new towels (If requested). However the staff were very friendly. There are many other hotels along the same strip of Washington Ave to choose from. I think next time I'll spend a little more and and stay somewhere else. If you're not too picky about hotel rooms this hotel will suit you fine. The rooms have a refrigerator, stove, microwave, etc.,

Location was great. I don't think it appropriate to pay forWiFi as a guest. Average for room attractiveness and adequate for business. Lots of room, but no real ambiance.

Dirty bathroom and dirty coffee pot left in the room. The staff was friendly, but the cleaning people need to be supervised. I was expecting cleaner room & bathroom.

We ended up here after an emergency room visit to the Albany Medical Center. Relatively convenient to the center, it seemed like a good idea. When we entered the front door there was a STRONG smell of disinfectant and pest spray. We had no other choice at 11pm however. The door to the room would not close all the way -- it was warped or something. So there was a gap at the top. The TV remote did not work. And overall, the place was dingy and worn. Barely adequate beds. I felt like I wanted to take a shower again after we checked out.

At check in the receptionist could not even answer simple questions or give me directions to my room or where to park. The room was filthy. The bed looked like it had been slept in. The pillows were yellow and spotted and in addition to the dirty ;inenes I have never seen such a filthy mattress cover or blanket in a hotel. The carpets has large ares of stain and burn holes. The room had a strong, peculiar odor. I could not regulate the heat and the curtains would not draw completely closed. I asked for a second room which was just as bad. I went to the front desk and a different receptionist went and got me a NEW mattress cover and pillows and blanket and sheets and pillow cases that had been washed. Overall, this hotel was not remotely how it was described and I certainly would not even consider giving it a second try despite my frequent trips to Albany.

Loud noise in room to next door and got no sleep.

Lots of hotels to choose from around SUNY-Albany so don't choose this one. Too expensive for the quality of what you get. It should be a lot nicer for the price that you pay. Bedding and finishes are old. TVs are tiny. Room was clean and large, just not a pleasure to stay in.

The service was excellent. There was no ice machine. This hotel was designed specifically for the business traveler. The room was spacious and intended for no more than two people. There was no ice machine but the front desk will willingly provide ice cube trays for use in the full size refrigerator. There was a two burner stove with a simple pot, pan, and dish assortment to cook in the room. The bathroom was average but came with only soap as an amenity. The best part of this hotel was the front desk. They were friendly and willing to help if they could.

Quality of facility. Facility was hard to get into. Beds were worn and overall quality was lacking. Did have a kitchen, fridge, microwave, table and stove. For the money, it served it's purpose.

Clean, pleasant, unusual in a motel in that there is a kitchenette: fridge, stove, microwave.

Kitchen with fridge/freezer and microwave. Uncomfortable bed and thin pillows. The kitchen is fully functioning, with a full size fridge/freezer, two burners, and a microwave. We were a bit concerned though when we saw that the staff does not wash the dishes, so bring your own dish soap. The bed was not very comfortable (hard) and the pillows were very thin, but it works for a night or two. Good location for us too.

The value. It was not as clean as it should have been. For an Extended Stay hotel the kitchen was sadly lacking in dishes and utensils. We had to keep asking the desk for what should have been standard items.

Efficiency kitchenette facilities. Air conditioning did not cool enough. Efficiency appliances lend to comfortable, economic longer-term stay. Convenience to interstate key for accessing routes to get to appointments without inner-city driving/confusion. Very safe neighborhood. Close access to dining, gas, coffee.

Price, location, no frills is fine, kitchen is nice. We called to upgrade to 2 double beds, this hotel does not offer this, but we were not told. Smells awful! Clerk yelled at us! Very poor experience, room smelled like old cigar smoke, really bad. Clerk yelled at us because he was frustrated. We called to upgrade to sleep 4, we were told no problem. When we arrived no upgrade, and furthermore this hotel does not even have rooms that can sleep 4. Poorly trained staff.

Conveniently located off highway. Rooms not much better than dorms across the street.
