Ever since I won: writer of the year 2007 Top Ten Writers with shvoong.com Tel Aviv, Israel I allow myself a day off to do my writing, research, and mail ... and 17th of Marchwas an ideal opportunity to do exactly that. However, I managed to get all my business done as well and got my writing up to date ... note taking .. and now I find that my poem: LONDON UNDERGROUND is due for publication in an anthology/Poetry Now Southern Poets publication date: 31st October 2007 - so I didnt waste time or money. However I was distressed to discover upon my return to Southampton that the desk clerk had made a mistake and had invoiced my points to a Swindon address ... it was annoying as I had paid such a lot of attention to filling in forms correctly ... and that the cost was muchhigher than I had budgeted for ... I had ordered a takeaway meal and it was twice as expensive as the restaurant around the corner ... so even though I enjoyed the stay at Express Holiday Inn in Hammersmith, London these two facts disturbed my enjoyment somewhat upon my return home to Southampton. I would like to see more individual time being given to my express requirements ... jolly good night out though on St Patrick's Day 2007 in London: UK:

No restaurant but plenty nearbyShame about the lack of cupboard space for your clothes however this is minor item. Nearby Chula's, wetherspoons and italian restaurants plus a small screen cinema up the road. Easy to get to many other london stations via district, piccadilly lines. No restaurant and limited continental breakfast offerings - no hot food

Family stay @ Express By Holiday Inn London - HammersmithAn excellent location just 3 mins. from tube. Clean rooms with friendly, helpful staff.Small bar for evening drink, pub attached for food but has some excellent Indian restaurants near by. Good food selection for breakfast. Family room was a little small with the sofa bed made up. Sofa bed was also a little too soft.

No Restaurant - hotel details wrongThis has no restaurant however it does have very limited breakfast facilities (continental only w/ limited selection) and no cooked food. 5-10 min walk from hammersmith tube and plenty of restaurants and shops etc nearby. Would stay again

Nice stay. Good location - only 10 minute walk from Ravenscourt Park tube. Car parking was available - but avoid the corners where pidgeons roost! Breakfast was fine but a little disorganised as it was quite busy.

We enjoyed our stay albeit for one night only. It is not a hotel with endles facilities but a good clean friendly place to stay, which is represented in the price. The location was good for us with good travel links and actually plenty of good local shops. Staff were friendly, the room was immaculately clean and tidy and in my mind will be regarded as a place to return to.

This hotel exceeded my expectations which is unusual these days and I would definitely recommend it.The reception staff were really polite, helpful and friendly - the room was clean and the price was pretty good. We have an 8 year old and 2 year old and arrived from a long international flight with 6 pieces of luggage. The room was a bit tight but for £79 for four people close to central London I was quite happy. There was a regular double bed and a fold up slightly lower same sized double bed that just fitted in the room tight up to the other bed which the girls slept in.A really well stocked buffet style continental breakfast was included in the price. We needed to leave all our luggage in the hotel after checking out. They have a luggage room for this and there was no charge. I would definitely stay there again. If I could suggest anything it would be to have free wireless internet in the room. Being used to US Hotels, this is becoming fairly common and gives you more 'fealgood' value to the customer than the cost to the hotel. A wired Hi speed internet service was available from an outside contractor for between £16 and £21 depending on the data you wanted to transfer with the use of a credit card. With a dollar based card, they seem to forget there is an additional fee incurred which really makes it poor value as it is already double the price you would pay in the odd US hotels who still charge.

This hotel is tucked away down a side street and our room was so quiet it was hard to believe we were in London. Room was clean and spacious. Buffet breakfast was excellent for the rate paid. Lady at reception phoned for taxis for us. And just a short walk to the tube station.

Nice clean and tidy room, as also the hotel is. Great location for central London. Breakfast was a basic but convenient continental style buffet.

When I arrived and asked for an iron and board, they said \"Well..you'll probably need to come back for it if you're carrying your suitcase\" and that rather set the tone for the stay. There is no room service or any food whatsoever at night. I was told if I went back down to reception there were takeaway menus. I then had to troop down again to collect the food and again to borrow a bottle opener! I also had to use the nasty plastic tray from the tea and coffee making facilities as a plate and a teaspoon to eat the food! It also got quite smelly as there was no-where to throw it away. I think if you're looking for a two-star, travel-lodge type environment, it's fine and the room is quite cheery and bright-coloured, but for the same money if you use laterooms.com you should be able to get something considerably more classy and friendly.

Stayed with family (baby + 5 yr old). Hotel is child friendly, good location, good value. Would recommend.

On the whole the stay was most enjoyable. However, the reason for the lower score regarding customer service was the fact that the room smelt of smoke on entry. We complained to the reception desk and a staff member came almost immediately to inspect. She informed us that she could not smell anything as her nose was blocked, but she had a freshening spray with her, which she sprayed around the room and on the carpet. This appeared to work. However, on our return to the room later in the evening the smell had returned. As it was late and we were tired we chose not to complain but to open the window and mention it on checkout. As we packed to vacate the room we found an empty packet of cigarettes and a used stub under the bed. This was obviously the cause of the smell. We informed the member of staff about the smell and the cigarette packet on checkout. He apologised for the inconvenience and as a token gesture, allowed us to park at the hotel for the rest of the day.

Great staff and very helpful. We arrived really early with the kids and they sorted the room out for us before we were due to check in. Staff helpful and the rooms clean and tidy. Food was good too and plenty of it.
