HandyRight opposite the station, I was glad of the short roll downhill into the hotel. The gentleman who met me at the reception was a delight. Friendly, courteous, cheerful, all you could want really! The room is the same as every other HEE, except the breakfast was so appauling, on the second day I didn't bother. The coffee tasted horrible, the juice is reconstituted, and the choice of cereal and toast pitiful. I am sure I have had fruit at HEE hotels before. It's ashort walk of about half a mile or so to some more than decent restaurants though. Every cloud I guess :-)

This hotel was chosen as I've used this chain of hotels on a number of occasions and always been satisfied with the standard of accommodation. The room was spacious and clean and a buffet breakfast part of the package. The hotel is across from the train station so very convenient if travelling by rail. On this trip I took the car - a secure car park is located at the back of the hotel. The only criticism was the noise from refuse collection at 5am each morning.

Time to enjoy....Staff always cheerful. Location close to station. Map given on arrival and time spent showing us where were good places to go. Luggage stored before booking in and after booking out. Public areas kept clean - tables promptly cleared and wiped down at breakfast. Buffet continually stocked so no delay. Large lift!! Bedroom comfortable and clean. Good to have 2 chairs!! Lashings of hot water. Depite being close to the station it was very quiet in the hotel.

Like HellWhen we arrived, my wife and I, around midnight, there were nobody at the front desk. When it happened that somebody finally arrived, he just ignored us (and one other fellow already awaiting before us) and preferred to go and serve beers to customers which arrived in the lobby after us... It was appalling. Then, finally another receptionist came and we were able to check in. We asked for a quiet room, and, as a result, we were given a room at the first floor with direct view on the busy street in front of the hotel. Early in the morning, my wife and I were awaken because of the terrible noise outside and the vibrations of the heater (an old one, not properly fixed to the wall), vibrations that were so horrible that it was just impossible to fall asleep again. At the check out, I told my disappointment to the receptionists which didn't reply anything, seemed embarassed, but didn't apologise. So, I could certainly not recommend this hotel to anybody.

Nicely refurbished rooms. Large double shower with Dove body wash. I think the bed was only a double though - would have preferred a king size, but it was clean & comfortable. Reception staff very friendly. We did not have the breakfast as we needed to check out early. Literally only a two min walk from Temple Meads Train Station, so ideal for us :)

BristolGood value and reasonable accomodation for 69.00 but I was not able to check in at 1.30pm which meant I had to leave my clothes in the car till I got back in the evening, I find it difficult to believe that they had no room available, it seems they were just following the rules

Express by Holiday Inn, Bristol CentralNice hotel and friendly staff with limited, secure parking within a gated multi-storey car park (chargeable at £3 per 24 hours - great rate for Central Bristol). Generous continental style breakfast buffet and, out of hours, hot and cold food is available from the various food machines. This is the third time I've stayed here and unfortunately this time I had a whole night without sleep due to the constant noise and light from the carpark. Next time I'm insisting on a room at the front of the hotel. The hotel is directly opposite Temple Mead's Station, convenient for travellers but there are surprisingly few shopping/restaurant facilities nearby. It's not the nicest of areas to go walking after dark, with plenty of undesirables hanging around the dark corners. On the plus side the hotel will support you and advise you if you wish to have a takeaway delivered directly to the hotel.

Stay away from here, despite having a car park they charge guests for its use. They hadn't bothered processing my booking, so had to stand there for 25 min, at gone 11, whilst the night manager made small chat with me. Charge for internet and then did not even accept Maestro, brought up with manager but no other solution. So this is not a business hotel! Room was clean but a depressing box overlooking the car park. Breakfast which was included in my 69 pound rate was beyond appalling. Avoid at all costs even the ibis is better, plenty of good b and b's in and around the Bristol area which offer much better facilities to a business traveller.
