we stayed 3 nights there, the service was excellent, the wine taste every afternoon was good, too. perfect location very close to the cable car stop and just 2 blocks away from china town. I'll stay again if I go to SFO.

Great central location in close proximity to many attractions and highways south and north to Napa / Sonoma. Good continental breakfast and great wine tastings every night.

Filthy. Smelly. Old.

Clean, close to Union Square, China Town and the Financial District, the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was nothing special and the windows looked over an enclosed rooftop, but the bathroom was larger than most SF hotels on Union Square. The bath towels were teeny and very thin, but the shower head was like standing under a waterfall! Very nice! What the heck was the green pyramid pillow that mystically appeared on our bed after maid service?!? Street parking was difficult, but not impossible.

The location is an easy walk to Chinatown and Union Square. We got there on the evening of Thanksgiving day. The person at the check in counter was bored and unfriendly. Even though I booked my reservation on line and received confirmation, he still took a long time to process our reservation and give us keys. He also tried hard to convince us not to use the hotel's valet. Once in our room, my daughter called the desk to find out if there was a soda vending machine on our floor - again he was curt, unfriendly in letting us know there were no soda machines on any of the floors. Leaving the hotel after two nighst stay was also diffcult - even though I called 15 mins before we left out room to have our car ready downstairs at 8:30 AM, it still took a good 25 mins before the car arrived and the valet took his tip and walked away without so much as a galnce or offer to help u s load our bags into the car. I should have just paid more and gotten BETTER service elsewhere. The only good thing about this place was the maid who cleaned our rooms - she was nice and friendly!

Stayed here for a conference a few blocks away at the Hilton. The price was right, but the rooms were downright tiny. Still, the place was extremely clean, and the staff was extremely nice and helpful. One tip: DO NOT RENT A CAR if you stay in this part of San Francisco. Parking is a nightmare, and my car was towed ($300+) for being parked on the street during rush hour. (The sign was far down the street and I didn't see it when I moved my car from the garage down the street to get ready for my conference.) Overall, this is in a decent location. It's a little sketchy after dark, but far from dangerous. The continental breakfast was nice, but crowded, and the offerings were sparse. This is not a place where a family with children would feel comfortable, because of the room size. I was alone, and I had trouble navigating the room after I unpacked.

Free wine tasting, and bath robe. Small bathroom. Great little hotel just off of market street. We walked to ATT Park, and everywhere else.

The Hotel location was excellent the the staff was very good as well. The staff offered help on site seeing, travel and food recommandations. The hotel was right next the trolley buses and walking distance to the Union Square and plenty of shopping. Also a few blocks from Chinatown. The only problem I had was the size of the room was small. I wish the hotel room was bigger and the fitness room had more stuff. Other than those things the hotel was great. I would go back, but this time book a bigger room.

Great mid point location for a "walking vacation"- close to bus routes and Bart. Also, got a great deal on flight and hotel.

Beautiful boutique hotel. Well decorated. There was no view from my room. Beautiful remodeled boutique hotel with an evening wine tasting. Well decorated rooms.

The staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel was very comfortable and clean. My only recommendation is to offer a national news channel (e.g. CNN) on the cable TV selection.

The location was perfect, the rooms were spotless, the staff by far made our vacation better than any vacation, they went above and beyond. They totally represented san francisco and executive hotels with integrity and kindness. What a treat.

AS first timers, we could not have chosen a better location. Very close to Chinatown, Union Square, Cable cars. Lots of great eating very close by. Easy access to Fisherman's Wharf and other muni pass destinations! Hotel with complimentary breakfast and evening wine tasting was very charming and quaint with exceptionally friendly staff. Only slight downfall was 4:30 am garbage pickup in alley way but didn't necessitate moving rooms. We will definitely be staying here again on any future visits.

The lobby was lovely, the bed was comfortable, the carpet and furniture were clean. The bathroom was very small, I could barely fit in the shower - no tub. This is an older hotel that has been refurbished. It is nicely done, however, it has the limitations of an old hotel. Specifically, the rooms are small, close to other buildings on the street (so no view), inconvenient parking, inefficient climate control system. That being said, the room was clean and the bed comfortable.

Rude staff, misleading hotel policies from online travel agency a ridiculously expensive deposit for incidentals that was not disclosed up front when the hotel policy clearly said that incidentals were charged upon checkout, a very slow elevator that doesn't work with more than 2 people on it. The room was small and dirty on arrival (dirty shower and toilet with what looked like pubic hair...EWWW). What was supposed to be a nice quick, romantic trip for my husband and I before going back to work and school ended up turning into a nightmare. I would not recommend staying here.

This hotel was on a great location!! The service staff is great, the parking is cheap and you have in and out privileges. You have access to all the shopping and cafes you need walking distance. Definitely reccomended.

Location was great and it was quiet. The wine service was good. The breakfast was less below average. This hotel is perfectly placed for seeing the city. Every evening the hotel had a wine tasting which was very pleasant. The staff was incredibly helpful. The shower was very small and there was a slight mildew smell that eventually disappeared with the windows open.
