The Evalena Hotel Apartments occupies a quiet location at the end of Fig Tree Beach. Situated directly on the on the beach the 3-storey complex consists of 74 apts, 59 one-bedroom and 15 studios, served by two lifts, provided with comfortable furnishings and designed to give a feeling of independence and privacy. It is on the perimeter of Protara’s town centre and all its facilities are within walking distance. Protaras is one of the most cosmopolitan tourist resort on the island. Numerous tavernas, French dining restaurants, and seafood restaurants on the beach, pubs, discos and shops are just few of the attractions.

I have just returned from a two-week holiday at the Evalena hotel and I highly recommend it. My other half and I (aged 17-20yrs) went away with my parents (aged 40-45yrs) and younger brother (aged 10yrs) so had the best of both worlds – a studio for my partner and I, and a single bedroom apartment for my family. GET AIR-CON! If you are going within this season, you will need this. It will cost 6€ a day it is good value of 78€ for two full weeks… don’t forget to budget for this as we couldn’t have lived without it! The only downside of this hotel is the fact it is a 10-15minute walk up to the main strip. It feels quite a challenge within the heat. If you want cheap local groceries, we recommend “Happy days” supermarket. However if you have the money to rent a car, buggy, bike or taxi, go up to the orphamedies supermarket… this is basically Asda /Tesco /Sainsburies abroad. Well wroth it if you are away for 2 weeks. As for food… I would definitely recommend: “ the fools and horses bar,” “friends bar,” “the zodiac” and “cheers bar” – all of these offer large portions and lovely food, however, if you want a cocktail to drink, they are rather expensive. I do not recommend the mandarin Chinese restaurant with the all you can eat buffet as we were extremely annoyed by the service/ price and value of this place. My partner is vegetarian and out of the limited little trays of food, which they serve your portions, he was only able to eat spring rolls. We had to request plain chow mien noodles. Our meal came to 26€ altogether – 3.40€ per glass of soft drink. The quality of the food was very disappointing. Overall, it was a lovely holiday, our first one together as a young couple and we hope to revisit this lovely island, and hopefully, this hotel.
