A Bit of a HideawayFinding this hotel is the hard bit. It is tucked away in the corner of a square, and isnt well signed. But I couldnt fault the room or the staff. It is well located if you want to be in the old part of town, or near the marina, or even some of the shopping. I didnt eat at the hotel, so I can't comment on the food. There was a breakfast on offer at €9.00, but the cafes around the corner offer it for €3.00! So guess were I went!

We loved this hotel, the location could not have been better. The staff were great and the room was always clean.

A centrally located hotel - close to the town centre, and lots of bars & restaurants, but only a few minutes from the beach. Our balcony ovelooked the town hall square - so we enjoyed a great view of all the festival activities which were taking place this weekend. Not so good if you want an early night!!

short weekend staywe went for a three day break that we arrnged ourselves. The hotel is in a lovely central plaza just a short walk from the marina and beach. It was very quiet apart from one night which was a bit noisy in the street outside through the night but it was saurday and a few people had been partying so to be expected really, otherwise a very quiet ,comfortable, clean and pleasent choice to stay. Taxi from the hotel to airport is about 18 euros approx or you can get the bus which is about 4 euros. the staff are very helpful and pleasent with good customer service. the gym is a good size and would suit those who wish to do a quick workout and then use the sauna too. there is a fantastic view of the castle and mountain behind the hotel.

LocationOur 2nd stay here, as it's easy to find and ideally situated for the marina with its many bars and restaurants.

A couple of great days in AlicanteWe found the Mediterranea Plaza in the Playa Aiuntamento was perfect for our needs. It was a great location; a room and balcony on the second floor overlooking the square, and a splendid view of the castle mount up behind the town hall. The room was as comfortable and well equipped as we could have hoped for, and the staff in the reception and the cleaning staff were friendly as well as courteous and very efficient. This proved to be an ideal place from which to explore the old town, the castle and some of the museums. It was also very conveniently located near to some excellent tapas bars, especially La Taberna del Gourmet just round the corner towards the sea. All in all, a great way to set ourselves up for the later business purpose of our trip to the region.

The Eurostars Mediterranea Plaza is set in a quaint square with a good selection of tapas bars all with in walking distance and you feel like you are in a traditional part of spain away from the hum drum of larger louts. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The down side to this hotel is that their is no parking, the nearest parking is approx 400-600 yards away. The hotels does have a gym, but it is not for the fitness fanatics, it is small with very limited equipment. If you are looking for a nice clean hotel in a city centre enviroment, thats has not lost the pld traditional feel of spain, this could well be for you.

The hotel is right in the centre of the old part of Alicante - the most interesting bit - and only 2 or 3 minutes walk from the harbour, promenade and beach. I particularly liked the fact that this is a very Spanish city with not many tourists around, as they mainly seem to go down the coast to the resort areas. The airport bus C6 will drop you off and pick you up just around the corner - only 1.20 euros and much cheaper than a taxi. The hotel and rooms are cleaned every day. The staff are very friendly. There are superb views of the hill and castle if you ask for a room overlooking the Plaza del Ayuntamiento. When I emailed them after booking through Late Rooms asking for a room with a view because it was our wedding anniversary, they upgraded us to a lovely room with large balcony and the view, at no extra cost. The square in front of the hotel is quite quiet in the evenings and night, unlike some other parts of the old town, where there is a thriving Spanish night life. There is a superb cafe called Pikadura just around the corner, that serves good coffee, cheap continental breakfasts and really good tapas at lunch time and in the evenings, with friendly staff. My only reservation - and it is not a serious one - is that, although the hotel serves breakfast and has a cafeteria at street level, there is no comfortable lounge area where we could sit with a drink or a book. But this is a minor thing and I would stay at this hotel again if I revisited Alicante.

The room (507)had a lovely view over the castle, was clean but the bed's were so uncomfy and it was really noisy. The hotel is in a fab position close to the restuarants and beach etc. You can hear everything that goes on in the next bathroom!!! The staff are ok, spoke good english, I wouldn't stay at the hotel again though, only due to the noise, one morning it was almost 6am before the nightclubbers stopped, but then the workers started!! We didn't eat at the hotel though so cannot comment on the food. There is a tobacco shop just round the corner for the smokers! The taxi ride cost 17 euros and only took about 10 mins or so. You pay when you check out, the mini bar they have in the room, you tick the box on a sheet to say what you've had and take it down when checking out.

Great position between city and beach, friendly staff, charming roof top terrace with good views, rooms clean and comfortable and huge bathrooms. Only criticism is the gym - it is very basic with just 2 pieces of fairly archaic cardio equipment - not acceptable for a 4* hotel. Everything else was grand!

Hotel was excellent value for money in a great location, 5 mins to the shops, restaurants and bars, and also 5 mins the other way to the beach and marina. Hotel staff lovely and friendly. Spotlessly clean and located in a great square with very good views of the castle, very picturesque by night. Would return again and would definitely stay at hotel again.

We arrived at 12.30pm to be told our room was not ready, we went for a coffee and returned at 13.15 still to be told the room was not ready, finally got the key at 14.00 !Room was very nice, large, clean, modern and had a balcony with a great view of the castle.Only real problem was the noise at night, lots of people being very noisy until 4.30am in the morning, as I guess they come from the clubs and bars, however we did not expect this in mid February !Overall a good hotel in a good location, just too noisy at night !

Very good hotel, very nice rooms and good value for money. Right on edge of the old town with its bars and restaurants and very near the harbour and beach. Friendly and helpful staff who spoke good English.
