Location, Quality and ExperienceOur first trip to Barcelona proved truly memorable, due mainly to the location of our hotel, the quality of the service and surrounding facilities available and the experience of a truly magnificent city, not to mention Gaudi.

Overdressed theme hotel, let down by ridiculous bathrooms. Plastic design, poor storage, stupid tiny hand sinks with nowhere to place a toothbrush, let alone a bottle of shampoo. So many things not provided for a hotel at this price. A very below par buffet breakfast. Staff are polite and well-trained, beds are excellent and the location is good. However, those terrible bathroom facilities! A triumph of design over functionality.

Eurostar BCN Design. Passeig de Gracia 'the Park Lane of Barcelona'Situated on the Passeig de Gracia, the Eurostar BCN Design is at the centre of all that is chic in Barcelona. At 100 metres from the metro/railway station you have ideal access to the airport and all other parts of the city. The room was spacious with a modern design which included a free standing bath, a walk in shower and possibly the largest bed I have seen in a hotel room. The staff were very helpfull and polite at all times.Turn right out of the hotel and you are in the main shopping area of the city with the marina in walking distance. In future when looking for a hotel I will always look for a 'Eurostar'. p.s.This has nothing to do with the train.

Eurostars BCNThe best thing about this hotel is the location. It couldn't be better. We were able to walk to so many things and it was also very close to the Metro. The decor was nice, minimalist and clean, but having the bathroom be part of the room isn't enjoyable. Even with doors on the toilet area and the shower, you still feel a distinct lack of privacy. The sinks are rediculous. You can't even balance a bar of soap on the edge of the sink and there is a huge lack of places to put things. For a woman with an average amount of make up and toiletries, it was incredibly frustrating. We dragged a little table over from the sitting area and used that, but it still wasn't adequate. Things kept falling on the floor. Also, although there was plenty of hanging space in the wardrobe, there was no place to put folded things. The room we were given was at the back of the hotel with no view to speak of and it looked into an office on one side. Hardly attractive. Also, the room was quite warm and although we turned on the A/C, it seemed to make no difference. We had to sleep with the windows open. Two other things that were unpleasant were the doors to the rooms which would slam shut very easily. You could hear doors slamming all night and because of the minimalist decor, it was quite loud. Also, there was a distinct sewage smell in our hallway. We were on the 3rd floor and could never figure out where the smell was coming from, but it was quite unpleasant. The staff were very helpful and pleasant.

well what can i say about this hotel it is very very dissappointing the website stated that evey room has a bath they dont!! although they have now changed the websitewe only stayed for 1 night but what a stay!!we were treated terriblyon arrival at 1pm we told our room was not ready so we were told to walk about for a couple of hoursthe weather was awfull the rain came down and down by the time we arrived back at the hotel we soaked through!!we were given our room cards and went upto our room on the 6th floorwe thought we would have abath but there was no bath just a shower but there was no water!!!!! ie no toilet working either!!!!i turned the tv on but there was no tv working so i phoned reception to tell them but the phone didnt work so i then dressed again in wet clothes and went to visit reception and was told by an extremely rude man that yes they knew about the problems but they didnt bother to tell us before we went to our roomthe room next to ours had water coming from under the doorafter an hour or so the water came on againthe room we received was not one that was featured on their website although very pretty it wasnt what we had bookedafter the reception we got from the staff we felt we couldnt go down to breakfast(we felt very uncomfortable around them)breakfast came on time but the waiter had not brought the coffee so we phoned and he brought some up then we found he hadnt brought knives butter or milk!!!the pastries were cold not hot!!! they have no standards to speak ofwhen we checked out we were asked if we enjoyed the hotel my wife said not really the lady behind the desk shrugged her shoulders and walked offall in all i wouldnt bother it is not a 5 star hotel more like a 3 at bestthe staff were the possiby the most arrogant i have ever dealt withthere are much nicer hotels out there so my advise would be to go somewhere else

The Eurostars BCN Design is an excellent hotel in a great location, directly on the Passeig de Gracia, within easy reach of all main attractions. The hotel is ultra modern with unusual decor but this only adds to the experience. We stayed in a superior double room at the back of the hotel. At first we were disappointed we did not have a balcony overlooking the Passeig de Gracia, however it was extremely quiet at the back in comparison to the busy street at the front, and in our opinion a lovely view. The Jacuzzi on the top of the hotel was a nice touch. The Metro in Barcelona is excellent and would recommend you buy a T-10 ticket which is very good value for money.

This hotel is in the perfect location under 5 mins stroll from Placa Catalunya. There are several fairly good tapas bars on the same street within 1 min stroll. The staff were courteous and professional. The rooms are a good size, great beds that are actually queen/king size, not 2 singles pushed together. Wireless internet is free and fast in the rooms if you have a laptop however if you need to use a VPN solution to connect to your company etc it doesnt work! There did appear to be network ports in the rooms however which may have worked better but I didnt try them. Didnt try breakfast simply because it was 15Euros per person. The rooms are extremely well insulated from street noise outside however the narrow french windows we had were not openable and there were wooden shutters outside the window which can blow shut but since you cant open the window you cant open them again leaving you in darkness. No major international TV channels available, just a couple of english music channels with the rest spanish and catalunyan channels. Not every room has a bath in it as stated on all their advertising! Ours didnt but instead had a large pillar in the middle of the bathroom area! The walk-inshower was excellent though with a v large fixed shower head hanging from the ceiling. Overall; very clean, fresh, quiet and in a great location with the most important things done well with just a few annoying traits. I certainly wouldnt pay the full price for a room though, the deals are just about worth it. This hotel has just opened though so hopefully these traits will be fixed soon.

Very nice high design intimate hotel. Very pleasant staff and great location. Only downside was the bathroom facilities which looks stunning but not ideal as the toilet door is frosted glass. Its ok for a solo guest but if you are sharing make sure its with someone you dont mind seeing you on the toilet!!!

Hotel in excellent location but bathrooms had little privacy and walls / doors in hotel are not sound proofed. Bathroom has no ledges or storeage area, this is design with zero practicality. hallway noise was loud and you felt as though the people were in your room. The hotel failed to advise they had only been open for 5 days, sawdust still in the bathroom. Builders working on some floors, woke up to hammer and drilling sounds, not great impression. Only decent thing is location, but in my opinion hotel is way overpriced.
