just okStayed here on July 31st. It is very close to the airport which makes it a good location for onward travel. However the room was small but fine for one night. The strange part was the height of the bed. It was pretty high up and therefore would be difficult for some people to use comfortably. On a very positive note I contacted the hotel the next day when i realised that I had forgot something in the room and they were top class at sending it on to me.

For an ""airport"" hotel this was a fantastic find. I expected some jet noise but I actually only heard any jet noise twice and it was minor. The service was exceptional and all the staff were very friendly. I would stay again

Etrop GrangeThis hotel is in a great location and takes 5 mins to get to the airport - Fantastic for an early start. Dont expect it to be cheap though - £6.50 for a ham sandwich ! £3.50 for a cup of tea !That said, you are well looked after and if money is no problem then this is a great hotel.

Very nearly a really good hotelRooms are a little on the small side but nice enough - four poster beds and chandeliers in the nicer rooms. Shame my shower wouldn't turn off so had to swap rooms. Friendly staff, rather let down by strange incompetence and lack of organisation - they didn't quite seem to know what they were doing. Location a bit odd - handy for the airport but on the edge of a huge council estate.

Etrop GrangeWe were very satisfied with the hotel. The room was good, well fitted out with nice finishings, bed was comfortable and we slept very well, we would not have believed that we could not hear any plane noise being so close to the airport. We would strongly recommend this hotel and we will stay there again.

Great HotelThis hotel is a joy to behold, not like the stereotype normal hotels that are around the airportFrom the driver to reception they are there just to please. Do not expect a hot breakfast until after 07.00, I have stayed here a lot and if you are content with a bowl of cornflakes and toast until after 07.00 even if it is advertised to open at 06.30.Other than this I would say it is by far the best hotel at the airport and I have tried them all.

Warm, welcoming and HelpfulThough we arrived late at night the staff were most hospitable - asking us if we had eaten - organising snacks etc. Cannot rate the warmness of the staff highly enough and would recommend any tired traveler to stay there. Room was generous in size, lots of homely touches, everything very clean. Breakfast was of high quality and most ample - English (self) and Continental (my wife). We will certainly be booking the Etrop again next year. Thanks to all staff.

Combination of visiting relatives and business meeting in ManchesterExcellent welcome and friendly staff. Evening meal excellent, breakfast good variety and table service. Perfect location for our needs. Shuttle bus to station although an easy walk. No disturbance from airport noise. A "country" feeling to it and a nice walk to the park at the rear. Easy access to the motoways

A special break away from the humdrum of lifeWe arrived early afternoon to a wonderful double room with a very comfy brass double bed. Room was lovely, shower was amazingly strong. Breakfast was very very tasty and had everything from cereals to full cooked. Service was great from start to finish. Close to Manchester Airport but you can't hear the planes. We strolled round the Trafford Centre which is around 8 miles away and very easy to get to. Definitely would recommend staying here and would also do an overnight stay with airport parking before a holiday also.

Great value with real northern 5-star personal hospitality & attention. We have seldom been given a better welcome or been made to feel so at home. Nothing seemed too much trouble & the friendliness of all the staff was outstanding, indicating the confidence they had in their product & management.

Great for Business or LeisureAn excellent hotel situated a stones throw away from the airport. All the staff were really helpful. The rooms were spotless and very modern in decco. The bar area is quite small but there is an outside area too. The bar service was quite slow at times as they did not seem to have a set barman and it was a question of which staff member was near the bar at the time.Although I never ate in the restaurant the food in the restaurant in the evening looked really nice and the breakfast was lovely.Would definitely stay again.

Several failings spoilt the visitArriving late Sunday evening, there were no parking spaces and it took several minutes for them to acknowledge I had a booking. Fortunately I had the booking reference from Laterooms. The room was fine complete with 4 poster bed however an audible high pitched whine from the emergency lighting in the corridor was irritating. It transpired the hotel was almost empty. The lack of parking spaces was due to cars left by people on holiday who had stayed a night but taken advantage of free parking offered by the hotel and the shuttle service to the airport. The reception staff were clearly exasperated by the parking problems having to juggle double parked cars day and night. The free newspaper in the bar was necessary as there was no one else in it from 9.30pm onwards and finding a barman took time, almost as much time as I spent the following morning finding the waiter to serve me at breakfast, surprising because I was the only person in the breakfast room. The buffet breakfast was good, as was the cooked. A little attention to service issues could have greatly improved the experience

A little gem near Manchester airportI stay in hotels twice a week throught the UK and this hotel is one of the best, the staff are so helpful and smile all the time that I felt as if I had stayed more than one night. My bedroom was a good size and featured a four poster bed, LCD Tv, and a well appointed bathroom with a shower that performed well. They have plenty of conference rooms, the one that we used had all the facilities, free wifi, overhead projector and screen. They have their own transport and will take you anywhere in the vicinity at no, they even offered to take us to a local pub with a pool table.I would recomend this hotel to anyone with the exception of wheelchair users.

Too CrowdedWe booked the hotel at the last minute at a decent rate but when we arrived at the hotel they had two parties/events going on so it was not possible to park - infact we had to double park and leave keys with reception for them to move our car.The room when we got there was spacious but the beds were riducously high to such an extent my girlfriend had problems getting on to the bed - she has a walking disability - do not use this hotel if you are disabled. There is also a dirt bike racing track (or something) around the back so there was constant revving of engibnes all afternoons. We left after about three hours and walking back through the hotel all the communal areas were overflowing.Having said that staff were very helpful

Nice PlaceExtremely nice and helpful staff, a very pleasant small hotel which I strongly recommend. Clean rooms, free wi-fi a good bonus Breakfast was a cut above usual. Evening meals were excellent but this is reflected in the mild over-pricing (same meal at lunchtime is c.50% cheaper for example). Anyway, I'll be back!
