Leave the A55 at A470 (JUNCTION 19), follow LLANDUDNO, then BROWN TOURIST SIGNS for PROMENADE. Turn towards the GREAT ORME AND PEIR, pass VENUE CYMRU(Theatre complex), IMPERIAL and ST GEORGE'S HOTELS, the ESPLANADE is in the NEXT BLOCK (some 200 metres from the pier).

Overnight stayNot the Marriot or Hilton, but friendly and clean. Didn't get a sea view room but would have been upset had I been staying longer. Foiod up to standard one would expect.

although the breakfast was fine we booked in for an evening meal it was lamb and seasonal vegetables .the lamb was very nice .but we got three small new potatoes and i wouldnt call sugar snap peas and boiled red cabbage seasonal vegetables in june and there was only a very small amount of them so we left the table hungry i would say the mael was the size for a six year old

ShabbyWe paid £60 for the room for one night. IThe furniture was grubby, old and uncared for. I looked in the drawers and they were dirty. The food in the restaurant was substandard and there was only one person to serve drinks for the whole room. On the positive side the hotel is on the promenade and we could park the car in the car park before we actually checked in. I would not stay here again and I would be ashamed if this was my hotel. Management Response In response to the criticism contained in this review: a) The room rate is quite correct, a minimum £30pppn less than immediate competition. b) The furniture in that particular room is tired, but there is no dirt in the drawers. c) Not that this is critical, but £10 per person for a two course dinner is fairly extraordinary. The room had a new carpet two years ago, new soft furnishings and redecorated last year. We believe the client is being unreasonable.

Weekend TripThe sea view was amazing as the hotel is situated right on the sea front. The buffet style breakfast was brilliant. The room was dated but clean. Overall a good hotel for a short break.

better than expectedWe booked this hotel last minute for one night with late rooms, we really did not expect much as it's a 2*Really suprised to find on arrival what a lovely hotel the Esplanade is, its better than some of the 3* hotels The hotel and room was clean, nicely decorated, great bar with entertainment, sea front location, and the breakfast was fantastic, we recommend this hotel and would stay there again

Esplanade March 09I like the Esplanade very much, and have stayed there quite a few times. It is showing its age a little, and could do with a refurb.

Reception Staff were rude and lazy it seemed to be a big effort for them to check you in and out of the hotel and it seemed to be a big inconvience for them to give you the key to your room when you returned to the hotel.The pictures are more than flattering of the hotel nothing like the pictures very dissapointing and not very good value for money overall

The reception staff and bar person were very friendly and helpful, I wasn't too sure about waiting to be seated at breakfast seeing as how we were visiting the hotel out of peak season.Other than that the service was second to none. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends alike.
