This is a pleasant property in a very good location. it offers good value for money (0105/iu). the hotel is housed in a traditional, five storey parisian style building. the small to medium sized rooms are simply decorated but are clean and comfortable. the bathrooms are in good condition. the hotel has no restaurant but the breakfast room is located on the ground floor, just by the reception. there are many restaurants located nearby the hotel. the lobby is small but luminous and leads into a lounge area where is continental breakfast is served. the hotel is centrally located close to the grands boulevards, within walking distance of the opera garnier and famous department stores.

We travel to Paris every year and always try to book this hotel. We love the location and the whole experience of Montmartrebut don't want to pay a lot of money. The hotel has genuine double beds which we prefer and we are used to small French (Paris) rooms so this hotel doesn't disappoint us (who wants to handle lots of big cases these days??. The bathroom is small but has everything you need and the shower has plenty of pressure. The rooms are clean and tidy and the linen is always fresh and clean. The staff are very friendly, knowledgable, speak very good English, handle queries very efficiently and had no trouble getting the shuttle for the airport. Isn't it funny how so many other hotels never seem able to arrange shuttles and the only alternative is the expensive contract "taxi" - this alone makes me want to return to this hotel. Of particular note is across the road from the hotel (la Cite de Bergere) is one of Paris' few remaining large Restaurants that date back to (I think) just after the 1st World War. Called La Chartier?? it is like going back in time and a must see to have a cheap and cheerful meal. A really unique experience and you never know who you may end up sitting next to.

what a gem of a find this hotel is. close to the action yet off the main streets for a quiet & peaceful rest. grand boulevarde metro a 2 mnute walk and plenty of places to eat nearby. lafayette gallery a 15min walk. absolutely ideal for anyone. it's clean, bright, and excellent location. will definitely stay there again

Hotel is situated very close to a metro station, in a small "City of Hotels" where each hotel's entrance is decorated in art-nouveau style. The staff was very nice and english-speaking, the room was unfortunately a smoking one, but everything apart from that was perfect - clean bathroom, bed sheets clean and nice etc. Everything looks very new and recently rennovated, which is important for the hotels in the old buildings. Tons of different cafes and restaurants all around. The only inconvenient thing was that the heater was too hot and it was not possible to open the window at night - the people used to came out of the bar in front of the hotel and were chatting all night long, very loud. Overally I would say that Hotel D'Espagne is one of the best 2-star hotels in Paris, would recommend it to others.

Fantastic location just around the corner from the Musée Grèvin and Chartier's restaurant, very close to the metro Grandes Boulevards. The staff were efficient,cheerful and very helpful -especially when my daughter managed to lock herself out of her room! Some of the rooms were a little cramped, but hey! What do you expect from a budget hotel in the middle of a capital city. Loads of restaurants (ethnic and traditional French), bars and bistros nearby together with interesting shops and businesses. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Hotel d'Espangne to anyone! Thanks for making my stay in Paris even more enjoyable.

Nice hotel - small rooms, but this doesn't matter if you are only there for sleeping. Very quiet surroundings, but some pubs and a partisserie,... just around the corner. The metro is also close to the hotel. --> This hotel is perfect!

Very nice stay. We used the room only as a place to sleep after long days of sight-seeing. The hotel is in walking distance to the main Paris attractions: about 15 minutes to the Opera shopping district, 30-45 to the Champs Elysees, and 20 to the Lourve. And it's very close to a Metro stop if you don't feel like walking. (You can buy day passes on the metro for 8 euro or one-way trips are 1.50). The hotel is very near Gare du Nord- about 15 minutes walking, but we called a taxi due to luggage. We took a taxi in from Charles de Gaulle, which cost 50 euro. The rooms are a bit small, but that is to be expected for hotels in Europe. The shower is only large enough for one person, but it was sufficient. We did not eat breakfast in the hotel, but we were able to pick up bagettes, etc from the shops around the corner for less than breakfast would have cost. The hotel is on a small side street, so there is no outside noise, and the surrounding area seemed decent and safe. We found the fee for internet access quite expensive- 5 euro for 30 minutes. Otherwise, we had a very pleasant stay. The staff was informative and willing to answer our questions about exploring the city. The hotel was a great deal for the price and is a good place to stay for travelers on a budget.

We went as a family and had 2 rooms at this hotel. Unfortunately, the neighbours across the courtyard had a party with the windows open and the sound really echoed between the walls. There were also other noises late at night. This was only heard in one of the rooms, but make sure you bring earplugs. In general, the hotel is perfectly ok, I would have been entirely satisfied if it hadn't been for the sleeping difficulties.

The location of the Hotel was excellent, although the rooms a bit small. My major objection was that I was led to believe that breakfast was included, but alas, 7€ each at checkout, or like $19 for the two of us for a cup of coffee, orange juice, a baggette and a croissant. Yes food is expensive in France, and this breakfast typical in price and variety, but I could have gotten a real breakfast for the same money on the street.

The guy at the reception was very strange, every evening he was asking to stay with him to drink tea, and when we refused, he was very unpolite and unfriendly. In general, the hotel was good, except the stuff we have met there.

when i booked through venere.com i searched for b&b. Hotel espagne came up and showed pictures of all hotel as well as breakfast room. The breakfast was in our opinion very very basic, but as we thought it was included in our stay we just got on with it. However when i came to pay the bill on departure i was very disapointed to be told that there was an extra charge of 4 breakfast x 2 nights. I tried to explain to the receptionist that i was under the impression that it was included in b&b stay but he said no it was booked as room only. If I had been aware of this I would not of paid to eat the breakfast which they served. I would have gone out to a cafe for breakfast. I think the breakfast was 6 euros per person per day. It certainly was not worth the money. The receptionist told me to take it up with yourselves as I thought I was staying at b&b.

It's a simple a good two stars Hotel; not more expensive. It's ideal for young people who go to Paris for short time, use the hotel to sleep or for a fast breakfast and don't want spend too much. The hotel is near Montmartre and the central of Paris.
