The Embassy Suites Williamsburg was comfortable, but it still has smoking rooms which is a problem for us because of allergies. The room needed some moderate to heavy maintenance, but the staff came up promptly to repair the broken lock on the door, which was the immediate concern. The hotel serves a large complementary hot breakfast which was delicious and had a large variety of items. For this reason alone we would stay there again.

Location and staff. Hair on the bathroom floor. The morning breakfast is great. The gentlemen that cook the omelets are friendly and a great asset to the hotel. Food was good. The location was good.

Our stay at the Williamsburg, Embassy Suites was not the quality that we are use to from EMBASSY SUITES. We love Embassy Suites because of the professionalism, quality rooms and great breakfasts. During this visit, the staff was very professional, the rooms were clean but extremely small and the breakfast was terrible. We have stayed at Embassy Suites many, many times and the breakfasts have been so good, I wanted to take the chefs home with me. But at the Williamsburg location they were NOT chefs, they were cooks. The omelets were tasteless, many buffet items were lukewarm or not seasoned well and many beverages needed to be replenished. Williamsburg Embassy Suites needs to take a page out of Columbia, South Carolina book because they know how to do it RIGHT.

The layout of the Embassy Suites was a little different than the ones I have been used to. It looks like it may have been a different hotel that Embassy Suites acquired later on. We really like staying at Embassy Suites because the free breakfast and Manager's night activitites make it a good bargain. Because of the odd hotel setup it made the whole breakfast setup a little strange and very crowded, and there were not as many food choices for the nightly Manager's special. But, the staff was very good and went out of their way to assist us in any way that they could. They helped us fill our cooler with ice, the bartenders were great and the front desk assisted us with checking in very early, since we were driving in and had been on the road for 12 hours - this was a huge relief. They even helped us to get to the hotel faster than our directions and basically drove us in. We were meeting family, so it made it great that everything was ready and waiting for us.

The Embassy was good for a quick rest but there were several small frustrating occurrences. Laundry carts blocked the main walk way to the elevator during busy breakfast and check out times. We stayed during the holiday weekend - Monday (holiday) breakfast was not extended to weekend times which really upset many visitors. Lights were cut off, shades were promptly pulled down over the coffee & juice bar and remaining food on the bar was quickly swept back to the kitchen! I guess this hotel has never heard of good southern hospitality!

We stayed here in late July 2008. The room was not what we expected having stayed at other Embassy Suites. There was a musty smell in the room, the microwave and refrigerator were old and not as clean as I would like. We came back to the hotel one day around 2:00 and wanted to rest after a couple exhausting, hot days at Williamsburg Colonial - our room was not clean yet. The maid knocks at the door just as we get in. We asked if she could come back and she did not speak english so she said "no clean today" and then hands us towels. So, the room was not cleaned that day and we were not overly impressed on how it was cleaned the other days. The breakfast at this Embassy Suites was not as good as other Embassy Suites - mediocre at best. The lobby was nice and the people at the front desk were very helpful too. We would not return to this hotel though - we expected better.

My husband and I have stayed here three times. Each time we stay,we have a wonderful time. The rooms are not huge, but plenty of room for two people or a family with small children. The managers reception is very relaxed, and the complementary breakfast is also good. Only complaint, pool could have been a little cleaner. We will continue to stay here every time we come to Williamsburg.

Facilities were very comfortable and clean & staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. Main atrium ceiling and surrounding hallway overlooks could use better decoration for better eye appeal. Current look is somewhat "institutional". Suggest hanging colorful tapestries or murals in the main atrium including plant boxes around the atrium's surrounding hallways for better eye appeal and for a less "institutional" look when looking up from the lobby area. Otherwise we really enjoyed the hotel and our stay.

This hotel overbooks its rooms. If you know you will be arriving late, don't even bother to book a room on online travel website. You will get bumped and end up staying down the street at the dilapidated Marriot Spring Hill Suites (there is a reason why there was room here and not at the Embassy Suites). Then, you won't be able to eat breakfast at that hotel. You have to go back to the Embassy Suites to get breakfast. Breakfast here is a zoo. Tons of children filled with anticipation for their day at Kings Dominion scamper under, around and through the cramped hallway which holds the canned fruit bar as well as boxed pancake and fake omelet station. Unless you are prepared for an adventure in the annoying, don't waste your money or your time.

Excellent housekeeping. The bathroom was at the entrance and not in the master bedroom area. The hotel was beautiful, extremely clean, great location. The only problem was that the room was too small for 4 people. It was very uncomfortable with all the luggage, we couldn't move.

Food was great and the room was clean. The refrigerator did not work and made a loud noise all night long and I could not figure out how to unplug it. The AC did not work well. The hotel was very convenient to the outlets and restaurants. Room was decorated nicely, very clean and the beds comfortable. Staff was pleasant and breakfast was nice. The refrigerator was not cooling and made a loud noise (of course starting as soon as I hit the bed). I could not figure out how to unplug it since it was built into a counter. Luckily, I was able to close the bedroom door which eliminated the noise.

The breakfast was great! Between 8:30 - 10:00 they could use more help in the dining area to keep the flow of things going. The suite was great. Kids could do their thing and my husband and I could watch what we wanted or just get some down time in our room. Since it was so hot while we were there, I wished, their was an outdoor pool. The staff was great and the hot breakfast was a great way to start the day off. It was conveniently located to all the major attractions, especially Colonial Williamsburg. We had a great experience and would do it again!

When ever there was a problem, it was resolved in 10 minutes. The staff was so friendly. Breakfast dining area, just to many kids. It should be separated. Overall the stay was great. the chefs was great.( just too many kids) Some people like to have a quite breakfast in the morning and I have one child. But we enjoy ourselves. And we will tell our family and friends.

"Chose this hotel for the suites. It is a good location and offers good value for the money. Hotel is a little worn, but is hard to complain about considering the value. Breakfast was excellent. Only complaint is no ice in the machines."
