Our stay was during busy weekend so it was packed!! We had to wait for breakfast, the pool and the elevator, as well as for extra sheets ordered that took 45 min.to get. I guess it was expected cause there was no apology from housekeeping. Overall the location and the hotel itself make up for it. Our time there was great. For a family with kids and visiting DC it is great location.

Breakfast option good; wait staff excellent. A spa that was out of order the entire time we were there. Rooms were clean, staff was good to excellent, the location on the Washington Metro line was just what we needed. It seemed ridiculous that a broken jacuzzi couldn't have been fixed in a few days. Also, noise from the elevators created a vibration and noise in the room we were in that was unpleasant.

My family visited Washington DC during Cherry Blossom time. The hotel was right across from the Metro Station which made it so easy to get into town. In the city it was very crowded so we were happy to have public transportation right there for us. My 3 children ages 10, 9 and 4 loved the pool and the glass elevators. The staff was very helpful and our room was very clean. We all enjoyed the breakfast each morning and my husband & I enjoyed the happy hour. It was a nice way to unwind after a busy day of seeing the sites in DC. We will definately be back!

Starting with the evening happy hour in the Atrium through the morning breakfasts, it was a terrific experience. We were provided a free shuttle running every ten minutes into Old Town Alexandria, and it was close enough to the waterfront that we could enjoy a leisurely walk back to the hotel in the evening. Beautiful town and an all-round wonderful trip, topped off by a lovely wedding.

Rooms were spacious, clean, well appointed and comfortable. Children loved it and breakfast was wonderful. Parking is expensive at $18.00/day.

I went with an extremely large group, and let me tell you that the service was great. You could not have a more helpful and friendly staff. The rooms were ok to live in, except they could have been a little bit cleaner. The location of this hotel is wonderful, and so easy to get to Washington from. We will definitely be coming back.

Was there for a wedding. The hotel was full of large groups (school children, conference attendees, etc), and had a more of a convention atmosphere than a quiet getaway feel.

Cleanliness, location, staff, breakfast and manager's reception. Great place to stay when visiting the Washington area. The location by the metro is terrific and the new free trolley adds to the great location. The renovated public areas are attractive.

Ugh! We have stayed in this hotel five times before and always loved it. However, on this last visit, it was very expensive, the food was overcooked and inedible, they got our order wrong as well and didn't apologize for doing so, the beds were sunken in the middle and falling out of the frame--VERY uncomfortable, and the bathroom was less than perfectly clean. All in all, they have soured us on this visit and we won't be coming back. You should find another in this chain closer to the sights of D.C. that would be just as expensive and probably better run. Yuck! And when you've been out all day in 100 degree heat, the least you can hope for is that they don't burn your daughter's dinner.

The hotel was great. Directly across from the Metro Station that we used a few times to get into DC without the parking problems. The staff was friendly. The rooms were neatly kept. We spent a lot of time seeing the sights of Washington DC but the hotel was a nice comfortable break.

We had a great experience at the Embassy Suites. The location couldn't have been better. Just across the street from the Metro station. We also really enjoyed the free breakfast and happy hour.

The tub and sink drained very slowly. By the time I finished showering, the tub had about 6 of water I was standing in. The exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work at all hot tub (by the pool) was empty as it had a leak. Otherwise the stay was nice and the front desk staff we very pleasant and helpful.

This is the place to stay when visiting DC. It is beautiful - location is great - it is clean and comfortable and in a great, safe area! We flew into Wash Natl'l and took the Metro to the hotel (only 2 stops) - SO easy! Leave your car at home - you don't need it at all! They have tours you can book right in the lobby of DC and they will pick you up right from the hotel lobby - very convenient. I highly recommend the night tour - it is spectacular! They also have a free trolley that will pick you up in the parking lot to take you downtown Alexandria with multiple stops. This is perfect for shopping and eating - Alexandria is a very nice town with lots of history. The hotel has a great complimentary breakfast each morning - has made to order omelets, meats, potatoes, fruits, etc....And the nightly reception is also very nice and FREE! The beds are very comfy and the rooms are nice and clean. I rate this 5 stars!!! Give it a try - you won't be sorry! (I'm a very picky traveler and it takes alot of impress me)!!!

This hotel was across the street from a Metro stop, had it's own parking area, and was in walking distance to Old town shopping, dining etc. The extra room was really great. There was an additional sink and mirror which was handy. The included breakfast was good-healthy choices for me-cereal, yogurt, fruit and my husband was happy with the made to order omelets. Our ONLY complaint was getting out of the parking garage . Both mornings we were closed in and had to call for an attendant to let us out. Not a huge complaint-just inconvenient if you are pressed for time.

Clean- close to train station and downtown. Room smell was strong then they moved us to smoking. Overall great hotel. 16 dollar parking was a bit high. Across street from train station/Metro. Next to Washington monument and at the end of the main stretch for downtown. Room was nice and big- the maid over cleaned our room with a spray scent that was to strong for us to stay so I asked to be moved but then they moved us to a smoky smelling room- there were very few people at that time so not sure why they couldn't put us in a better room- one that didn't smell. Otherwise good place if you can get a room that isn't too strong. I would recommend this to a friend.

I've stayed at Embassy Suites Hotels in NYC, Boca, Arlington, Dulles, and this one had been my favorite until my last stay. The Hotel is showing it's age and it needs some TLC. Also, what had been a much appreciated break after a work day or day spent touring-- the Manager's Special-- is now gone? Please replace old bedding and old fixtures and make the Old Towne ES a relaxing, fun place to visit again!

Big and airy with location convenient to metro and old town. Parking stinks and what parking they charged you for was woefully difficult to park. Very pleasant hotel in a convenient part of old town. Our room was very nice with a view and breakfast was adequate. Restaurants close by offered better fare for dinner. Parking was very tight and I had trouble fitting in between concrete posts with my suv. Altogether a pleasant stay.

We were very happy with our stay - being right across the street from the metro was wonderful and the full hot breakfast buffet was a huge hit with the kids. The area felt safe as well - we walked to a few nearby restaurants and felt completely comfortable on the streets. There were enough other families staying at the hotel that made it a very comfortable place for families, however there seemed to be a great mix of adults/business as well. Our suite was very comfortable and quiet and everything worked great.
