This hotel was centrally located for the things we wanted to do. We particularly liked the WTC visitors center on Liberty St. It is located on tghe south side of the WTC site next door to a NYFD station which has a brass wall picture dedicated to lost heros. The hotel was in easy walking distance to several areas. We really enjoyed the hotel and would stay there again. The Free breakfasts were great.

Location, service, comfort and security. Limited room service.

Possibly the only complaint about this hotel is that it is currently surrounded by construction zones, diminishing the attractive location alongside NY Harbor in Battery City Park. I found the hotel to be difficult to get to by foot (it lies across the West Side Drive from the city's main finance district and WTC site; by foot you must cross the Vesey St. footbridge). There were not always taxis available outside the hotel, and it's a bit of a hike to the nearest subway station on Chambers. Otherwise, the suite was quite a bargain via this online booking; it appears to be a family friendly place on weekends (with an extensive free breakfast), and I even ran into a friend and her family there in a happy coincidence. Positives about the location -- for financial business travelers, if any remain, it may be ideal -- included an adjacent movie theater that runs post-midnight showings, and a mid-scale Mexican chain restaurant that had the nicest bartender I've found in NYC.

We traveled to New York with our three teenagers and were very pleased with our room and were especially happy about the full all-you-can- eat breakfast ! The staff couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant , the concierge especially so, and the beds and linens were very comfortable.

Our family has stayed in many hotels in our travels. This was truly top notch. It was clear that customer service was a top priority. Our family HAS to have breakfast, so while this hotel may cost a bit higher, when you figure in the cost of our daily breakfasts, it turned out to be quite a bargain for our family. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone!

Embassy Suites was all I read it to be. They have a preonline service that you can order things ahead of time for your visit, but mine never went through, so I was disappointed with that. We did not have robes, but a quick call got them in. The front desk was very efficient and pleasant as well as the bell hop, and this was at 1 am. The hotel was quiet, considering we were right next to a construction site. The breakfasts were great and there was plenty of food. Seating gets tight the later you go, but the early morning had plenty of seats. The bedding is all comfortable as well as the beds. The showers have hot water, plenty of it and the maid service was clean and efficient. I totally enjoyed having the restaurants on site as well as the movie theater. The manager's reception was ok, but I didn't book the hotel for that reason. There are plenty of taxis nearby, the buses run fairly close, but you have to hike a bit for the subway. One block from Ground Zero and a great view of the Hudson River. A really nice place to stay.

IWe loved the location! The room was nice. The breakfast was very good except for the scrambled eggs-awful. Staff was helpful and courteous. It was in the Financial District, next to Meryl Lynch and very close to Ground Zero, very sad. Great places to eat near by and a movie theater with access through second floor of hotel. The pizza place was great, the sushi place was fabulous but the corner deli...... not good, not even the rice crispy treats. There is a mall in the Meryl Lynch building and a harbor just beyond.

Whilst some people may regard the location of this hotel unfavourably because it isn't in Midtown, I found the area delightful. It is next to the river and the lovely Battery Park area and within 10 minutes walk of all the main subway lines. It's within easy walking distance of the Liberty Island ferry, the financial district, Wall Street and Ground Zero. The hotel suite was excellent, although the minibar was not available to use as your own fridge - if you moved something out to make room you were charged for the item. Having an ice machine directly outside our door and an ice bucket in our room meant this wasn't really a problem though. Breakfast was very good and never crowded - although we were never later than 8 am.

Excellent value, convenient + peaceful location on the weekend, wonderful breakfast buffet! When it says 2 beds, they mean one double bed plus a pull out couch - not ideal for everyone. Leisure travelers don't write off the financial district as a place to stay for your visit in NYC. This hotel is an excellent value and offers a peaceful weekend location with great river views and lovely parks across the street. Breakfast buffet with cook to order food can't be beat. Clean and friendly.

Loved the hotel - friendly helpful staff, clean rooms, wonderful breakfast and cocktails. Would stay in this quiet area of NYC again. A bit of a walk to the subway, but not too bad. Forced me to finally learn how to manage the NYC subway. I usually stay mid-town, but the noise bothers us, we live in a quiet area. It was wonderful having the two rooms, the cost dfor this would have been prohibitive in mid-town. Just be prepared to pay more taxi fares than you would if you stayed in a mid-town location, but even going to the upper area of town will be about $ 15- $20. Thiis is important at night because the walk from the subway is about 7 minutes and there are not as many people around at night as in the day. As a woman I felt safer taking the cab at night.

I read all the reviews and this hotel held up to the reviews. The room was nice. We had a view of the river. The staff went out of their way to help us (even had a pizza reheated after we took a longggg subway ride to get it)Great Pizza Difarras (sp?) in Brooklyn worth the wait!! The front desk is very helpful. I would not stay in another hotel in NYC. If you have kids this hotel is a must with the seperate rooms we had 2 adults and 2 children and it worked out perfectly. We are planning another trip and will stay here again.

Room smelled and there was a food tray left outside the room, which I didn't appreciate at all.

The staff was great and the happy hour and breakfast was good. The concierge service was spotty. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the hotel to our friends. The hotel had a nice location with a great view of the Hudson. The New York Sports Club was connected to the hotel and was a nice perk to staying at the hotel.

The hotel was excellent. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The Happy hour was very nice and the made to order breakfast was great. The hotel was extremely close to Ground Zero and St. Paul's chapel. The hotel is a little way to Time Square and surrounding attractions, so plan on spending some money on cab fare. I would definitely consider this property again.

I'm a frequent traveler to NYC, and I've stayed in numerous places throughout the city. This was the first time I stayed in true downtown, and I loved it! Away from the touristy hustle and bustle, I was able to enjoy true NY. Walking along the waterside, enjoying nearby restaurants, couldn't ask for anything more. What made the trip was this hotel. More space than I've seen for the price. Staff was wonderful, courteous and very helpful. Subway was a little farther away than I would have preferred, but it allowed me to justify eating great NY cuisine! The room was spottless and very spacious. And of course, the breakfast! The free breakfast was wonderful. Aa large selection of breakfast foods, some made-to-order. We've already booked another trip here this year, just in time for Christmas! This is a definite must-stay hotel.

While here at the Embassy we shopped and took the subway to popular sites! Nothing missing the rooms were spacious especially for New York there is a movie cinema in the same bldg. Shops are very close and eateries! Great views of the Hudson river. Great parks in walking distance.

Free buffet breakfast and manager's reception. Front desk service was not particularly helpful. Good hotel. Slightly off the beaten track (you have to cross the West Side Highway). Very clean and spacious rooms. Hot buffet breakfast saved us lots of money!

My husband and I stood one night at the hotel and from the time of check-in to checking-out it was great. Friendly staff, room quality excellent. For the money you can't go wrong. The only thing its quite a walk to the trains....but the cabs are out front.

Great hotel. Room, location, walk along Hudson to Battery Park just beautiful. Staff does a terrific job and food is excellent. Location is quiet and yet is easy to get to other parts of the city. If you park here make sure you know the consequences of a poor and careless valet.
