The rooms were huge and the bed was plush :) that you had to pay $30.00 to park your car nightly. The hotel was amazing the staff was awesome, rooms were plush and comfy, great location all around great the only downfall was the fact that you had to pay $30.00 a night for valet parking.

Great hotel is in a great location. We were only a block away from Seaport Village and within walking distance to some of the museums on the water and area where cruise ships dock. Gas Lamp District was also within walking distance and had plenty of restaurants/bars. Only downside was the cost for parking. But at $28 per day, its pretty average for all hotels in the area. Plus, its all valet, so you dont have to worry about finding a parking spot.

We stayed at the Embassy for a friends 50th anniversary, our stay was most enjoyable. We really enjoyed the breakfast and the varity of food and happy hour. The staff was most helpful when several tables were needed to accomodate our large parties. The hotel being close to the bay made it very easy for us to go to our boat for a ride around the bay. One reason I chose this hotel was because of the breakfast. Every morning the breakfast foods were cold. The only hot food was an omlet,and that was because it was made to order.

Great location, close to Horton Plaza & Seaport Village Parking was an issue. The hotel has no self parking, everyone has to valet. Wait times to get or drop off your car was long The hotel is very nice. The staff was very helpful. The breakfast that was included was pretty good. I was expecting pastries and coffee, omelets and bacon was a nice surprise

This is a well kept hotel that is very family friendly!! You cannot beat the price with the evening reception for drinks and snacks - then to have a huge breakfast!! WOW! The food was great and could be made to order! Very clean and the staff were very curtious and helpful. We will stay there again for sure! The only thing is that they could have softer tissues.

Room we booked was suite with 2 doubles (though more a large single) and sofa bed in lounge area. Ample for the 5 of us. Lovely hotel though the 'complimentary' breakfast was a bit of a busy event for those who just love to queue. We were Ok as we don't queue!! Good location and very enjoyable stay.

This is our 2nd stay at the Embassy Suites in Downtown San Diego. We are satisfied. The restaurant-bar is very nice with a great staff. The only complaint I have is that coffee is not available after breakfast hours.

We really enjoyed our stay. Location worked well, rooms were clean and good layout, staff was friendly and efficient. Food was typical for Embassy Suites, good breakfast, reasonably priced lunch/dinner and possible to eat healthy (vegetables, fruit, whole grains, low fat) as well as more typical american fare. Pool is very small, and thus can be crowded. Starbucks off main lobby to help jumpstart the morning. Hotel was nice for the price. Many hotels in San Diego are in poor state of repair, and have significant safety issues due to location and people in the area, which isn't the case for this Embassy Suite. I travel extensively around the world for work, and am used to having a safe in the room for valuables, but there wasn't one here. I feel more comfortable being able to lock up valuables while I'm out of the room. Embassy Suites does a good job of providing suites at a reasonable price, that work well for a family. I'd rate this facility at above average for Embassy Suites and would definitely stay there again. My children really enjoyed it.

I never write reviews, but my stay at the Embassy has prompted it. Plus wanted to add to what I had read at this site prior to traveling to San Diego. Agree...this is probably one of the best hotels I've stayed in while not paying for it. I would rate above average to excellent. We really enjoyed our stay. We requested a bayview room...we were given a corner room on the 7th floor with great views of the Seaport Village and Harbor. For the most part...I thought our room was very quiet and private. Our room was clean, spacious, had a bar sink, microwave and small fridge in the galley area. It had a working desk or table in the livingroom for your laptop or if you wanted take-out one night. What I liked about our room was the big huge sink area in the bath AND one outside the bathroom. This way, my husband had one area, I had on area for our "stuff." Yes, there is some very minor evidence that the Embassy is currently renovating their rooms. But I do not think you would notice this unless you are on the upper floors and you are deciding to take an afternoon nap at between 1-3 p.m. We did this one day..there was only a very faint tapping to be heard. The only other way we knew there was some construction going on at this hotel was reading about this on this website and a small discreet sign in the elevator. I have read here and agree...the beds are VERY comfortable and LOTS of really good fluffy pillows. I see complaints were written about the noise of the a/c or heat. I did not notice the noise of the fan more than any other hotel I have been in. Comments on the free breakfast buffet and a happy hour (snacks and drinks). The breakfust buffet is a real value-add considering that eating an equivalent breakfast out might run you about 15pp. Also the Embassy breakfast is probably better than you can get at any Hampton Inn or similar type of hotel that includes a continental breakfast. You can have an omelet made to order...which is more than I have seen offered elsewhere.

My wife and I booked at the Embassy Suites to enjoy a little time to ourselves (our four kids stayed with family). I lived in SD for seven years and know the area pretty well. Downtown SD is more exciting and more alive than ever, and the hotel is nicely situated near Seaport Village, San Diego Bay, The USS Midway museum, Horton Plaza and the newly revitalized Gaslamp District. We dined in Pacific Beach at our favorite restaurant, Lamont Street Grill, beached at La Jolla and Coronado's Silver Strand, strolled the shops in Seaport Village and enjoyed the views of the bay. Other reviews warned about the pricey parking (about $28/night), but we couldn't find any reasonable, safe alternatives. They also charge for internet access (another $15/day). These added charges eroded some of the price advantage, but all in all it was worth it. The breakfast, with buffet and made-to-order offerings, was included and was delicious, and the evening Manager's Reception with complimentary beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) helped tip the scales back. The two-room suite was spacious and very well appointed. From granite countertops, small fridge and microwave to a nice balcony, we loved the room. We would return, but I'll leave my laptop at home! Thank goodness for smart phones.

This hotel is currently finishing bathroom renovations, which follow other renovations made to the property. If making a reservation, be sure to ask for a room on the top two or three floors--far away from the work. Rooms on the bay side have fabulous views and I recommend booking one of those even if there is a premium charged. Hot items in the complimentary breakfast are hot, and cold items are cold. The breakfast is full and one couldn't ask for a better one. Crowding and lines were not a problem, and I didn't go to breakfast early. The evening manager's "happy hour" is a delight.I had a problem with the first room I was given, but the front desk staff put me in a second room (which was acceptable) and promised to move me the next day to a better room--which they did, and it was. They couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. The hotel is convenient to the shops and restaurants of Seaport Village, and about a 10 minute walk to the Gaslamp district. In short, it's conveniently located. I do wish that there was an outdoor area on the hotel property to enjoy the beautiful San Diego weather.This hotel is a great value.

The hotel is in a great location. Everything is within walking distance - the Gaslamp Quarter, the convention center and it's across the street from the Seaport Village and near the port. The breakfast is great. Lots of choices!

Hotel just recently renovated and upgraded. Perfert location across from the Harbor.The view was beautiful. Just minutes from Sea world, the zoo, Balboa park and the Gaslamp district. Cook to order breakfast a big plus. The concergie was very helpful with recommending restaurants and other things to see in the city. The only downfall is the 26/per day for valet parking. There should be a choice to valet or self park.

Wonderful time, great location, very quite, very comfortable. Breakfasts were excellent. I would have appreciated knowing there was a nightly parking fee and a 24 hour internet connection fee. Other than that, we really enjoyed our time there.

Helpful / friendly staff f /great breakfasts / loved the manager's party. Had to pay for parking because none was available. I loved the fact that all the accommodations are suites. It worked out wonderfully for us as we had different age groups with us. Also the breakfasts every morning were great. There was something for everyone and the coffee was super.
