Went for the Cubs vs Braves 3 days series and wanted to stay close to Navy Pier for day activities. Free trolley stop right out side hotel door. Awesome hotel and location and I got it for $139 a night. Valet parking is a little steep, $49 per day but it was comforting that my car was in a secure location and they were very quick to get it when I wanted, unlimited in and out. On my check out day they let me keep my car and luggage with them to go to a ballgame by cab. Very good breakfast buffet and the evening drinks/snacks reception was great. Will definitely plan my next Chicago trip with Embassy and Orbitz

Great views, great location and great free breakfast in the morning. The chlorine in the pool was really high and hurt both of my kids eyes. We had a fantastic stay at this Embassy Suites. The location was awesome, the view was fantastic of the city and the staff were very helpful. We liked the free happy hour and breakfast the next morning. We would highly recommend for others.

Visited over Easter weekend. Hotel was full, but handled the crowd well. Breakfast was perfect for the family. Would stay again.

Our stay was part business, part shopping. Great location! We've stayed at this hotel several times before. Great for travel with kids: b'fast is included & all rooms are suites with two sleeping areas.

We had to wait 30 minutes in line to get checked in; clerk was not rude, but she wasn't very pleasant. When we finally got our 6th floor room, the card key wouldn't work. My husband went back to front desk and waited in line AGAIN for approximately 20 minutes. Clerk re-coded card and told us to call if we couldn't get in the room (and how were we to do that if we couldn't get in?). Card worked once to get us in the room, but then didn't work once again. We called Hotel Operator; security came up to verify the cards didn't work. He said he'd be "right back" with new card keys. After waiting another 30 minutes and no new card keys, my husband went back down to front desk to find out where our card keys were; security guard was standing at front desk and apparently "forgot" to get us new keys. Clerk gave us new card keys, and third time's a charm, our keys finally worked. Other than this fiasco, hotel was in a great location, comfortable and quiet. Free breakfast was great even though getting the food was incredibly challenging. We were stunned that it cost $41 a day to park which would have been nice to know before hand, but that's how it goes in Chicago!

Proximity to Navy Pier and Michigan Ave. Parking fees were too expensive, elevators to street level and elevators to rooms were on opposite ends of the hotel. I was traveling with a wheelchair bound child, so my opinions are directly related to our ability to easily move from one place to another.

The Hotel was nice but there are a few things that were disappointing. The pool and hot tub were closed for emergency repairs and the front desk told us we could swim at the Sheraton hotel two blocks away. Who wants to do that in December? Also, we could not watch the Bulls or Blackhawks game in our room. The only way to see either game was to go to the bar. Will not stay here again.

Just came back from a 2-day stay in Chicago. I enjoyed this hotel thoroughly. Like other reviewers said, the lines can be long for breakfast, but they did move and I stayed in the summer with lots of families staying there at the same time. The hotel is beautiful, and the restaurant is pretty good. Room service is fast - breakfast arrived early one day and a late-night snack also arrived in ~15 minutes. My only complaint (and it's VERY MINOR) is that I had upgraded to a corner suite, and I had expected to have at least a few more windows in the living/work area. There was just one window and it was kinda small. So if you get a corner suite, it'll be quieter, but don't expect a terrific view.

The rooms where not glamorous, but very clean. Having a cooked breakfast was a plus.I liked the free evening cocktail party. The staff was always pleasant and helpful.

Spacious suites and excellent breakfast options. Parking & internet access was very expensive. Hotel was rather nice - suites were spacious and provide the amenities you would expect. The breakfast bar was really nice - you have a large option of buffet style, along with cooked-to-order omeletes. Better than I would have expected. Hotel was located in a decent area - across the street from a grocery store and was just a few blocks from Michigan Ave and the subway. Hotel charges $15/day for internet, which in this day, a business traveler might expect internet to be included with the room.

This is a wonderful clean, safe, and great food hotel. It is a few blocks to navy pier, staff wonderful even when they are busy. The pool is great and warm.

We had 6 people staying in one suite (2 doubles plus pullout couch) -- pullout couch was completely unsuitable for adults, but 10 and 7-year-olds thought it was great. Breakfast is great but crowded after about 7:30 AM. Great location -- walking distance to free trolley stops and Navy Pier, grocery store across the street, AMC Theater around the corner. Did not use the pool, but it didn't appear to be getting a ton of use. Housekeeping never left us enough towels and washclothes, even after several requests. One night they never brought more even after I walked to the front desk and asked. Concierge was seldom there and only slightly helpful. Biggest problem with Chicago was finding activities to entertain girls ages 17, 15, 10 and 7 -- older ones liked the museums, younger ones were bored and annoying.

Visited family. For the price compared to nearby suites- we got a good deal. Suite provided lots of room and a quiet and a loud space- perfect for our family. Made to order omelette breakfast included. This is a busy hotel so it is important to check on best time to eat- if you are in a hurry. for the most part staff very helpful. Pool is on smaller side but was perfect for us. It was interesting talking to other families at the pool- we met 2 families whose main reason for going to Chicagp was to shop at the American Girl Store. Valet parking is expensive- $49. per night so consider closeby self-park. Navy pier is closeby with fireworks on some nights- quite a show! Only problem was we booked a non-smoking room and when we checked in they did not have any non-smoking rooms. Since we made reservation through orbitz they were unable to save our non-smoking room. We did arrive on the later side- 7pm. They did bring a machine to help purify the room which helped some. We have stayed there before and will stay there again.

This was a great place to go with family. The Embassy includes the best complimentary breakfast that I have ever had at any hotel and a free cocktail hour. My kids loved the pool and the video game system in every room. We stayed in a two room suite, perfect for large families than need their own space. I loved this hotel and will try to only stay at the Embassy for now on. It is also in walking distance of Navy Pier and many of great resturants in downtown Chicago.

When we got there, they gave us a room that was wheelchair accessible. We didnt think anything of it. Tried to take a shower and water went all over the floor. When I called to say that I wanted to change rooms, the girl was VERY RUDE. She said because we booked with a 3rd party and not directly with the hotel that our reservation was first come first serve. She said there was no way to switch rooms so I asked to speak to a manager and we did get to change rooms. Will I recommend this hotel, maybe but I will tell them to beware of the front desk.

Rooms comfortable and clean. All rooms opened up to main area, almost motel like. Nice rooms, indoor motel style was not nice. Free breakfast was nice but crazy crowded.

Great location and facilities here but the hotel is uncooperative when it comes to early check in. They have a 4pm check in and a 12 noon check out policy. I asked whether I could check in at 1pm since I had an early flight. They advised the usual line, if available, sure. Arrived at the hotel and nothing was ready, so they said. Two hours later, still nothing although I saw other folks checking in as I waited. How can a 200-300 room hotel have no ready rooms. Even if every room was occupied don't they ready the rooms one at a time. In any event I only got to check in maybe 1/2 hour early. Terrible, terrible service. Great place but it remains my last choice.

Reviews right on the ! Pleasant, comfortable and wonderful hotel located downtown Chicago. Valet parking was but worth every penny( 48.00 self parking was 39.00) but we didn't use gas (4.19 p/g) and got truck out for luggage/checkout and put right back. Room rate of 139.00 was GREAT! Continental breakfast was huge & saved us lots of time and money since it was on site and free. It was like a full service cafeteria. We missed out on cocktail hour but people seemed to be enjoying it. Elevators were extremely fast. P. J. Clarke's () left a lot to be desired, the chicken sourdough sandwich was good but avoid the hamburger (dry) and guacamole and chips (chips greasy and cold and guacamole had funny taste we couldn't figure out and fries were undercooked and limp). Room was on corner of 8th floor with no view of lake but really large and quite. Went to Cubs game 5/26/08 at 1:00 pm (Cubs win!!! 3-1 over Dodgers) and was rather easy getting to the Red Line Train (left hotel @ 11:30 got there @ 12:15) takes you straight to Addison. Walk up Grand 5-6 blocks to State and the train entrance at corner. The best way to get to Wrigley Field thats for sure!!! We have driven around for past games looking for a parking spot near Wrigley only to have to pay a fortune for parking and still having to walk forever! This was best 2.00 spent per person each way (8.00 total for round trip for 2). Advice! Buy your round trip tickets in advance on a card out of the machine before leaving to the field there should be an attendant if you need help. Be very patient leaving Wrigley lines are long and train stuffed to capacity.
